The Model piece

I was told that I could put this up now. it is the Taj Mahal by SzuLet Creations. This is what I started in November and finished 2 weeks ago.

I am now stitching another model piece for Twisted Oask designs and will work on it tomorrow as well . No pics allowed.

I am reading The Vineyard by Barbara Delinsky and love it so far.

Mondays Musing

I know it is Tuesday morning but I couldn't stay awake last night to post. I stitched half the day on the package ornament. Just a little bit of the lid left and then the back stitching

After that I stitched up the baseball bat, football, softball ornament and then started the tennis ornament.
I received a model in the mail yesterday so i have to stitch on that this week instead of my UFO and WIPs.

I finished Girls in Pants The Third Summer of the Sisterhood by Ann Brashares. it was reallly good. Then I satrted The Vineyard by Barbara Delinsky.

I got a couple of packages in the mail yesterday. I needed 2 skeins of Purple Toil byr Crescent Colours and someone sent me that. I also received 2 books from Lisa through readnSwap and they are: Grand Avenue by Joy Fielding and Death on Demand by Carolyn G. Hart

I FINALLY received my rebate check from Dell. I bought the computer in December and the end of Decemeber I had mailed in the rebate.

Last week's movies I watched:
Constantine
Bad seed
Xanadu
Shall We dance
Red eye

I received compliments about my fobs, thank you. I do not have a book to make these or patterns. I learned how to make them at a class and bought the beads and charms. You just play around with them til you have them in the order that you like.

not much stitching

Our Federal refund came in so I ended up shopping on Saturday and not much stitching. I did finish...

Violets and teacup out of The Cross Stitcher April 2001 issue After that i made the scissor fob with the cross.
Didn't stitch at all today. i did make the cat scissor fob for DS#2's girlfriend. She liked it.
Then I pulled alot of floss for a friend's project.
Had the NASCAR race on but was busy and kind of listened to most of it. I did watch about the last 100 laps and finished reading Girls In Pants the Third Summer of the Sisterhood by Ann brashares during the commercials.
I started reading The Vineyard by Barbara Delinsky. read this during the commercials while watching Charmed :-)
Tomorrow is ornament day unless the monthly model comes in that I do.

Too tired

Just having a tiring day. Slept in late and didn't even go to Curves. This cold is just kicking my butt today. I did stitch a few hours on Christmas Angel by Joan Elliott from a The Cross Stitcher magazine. I finished another section on the wing of that.

I started a freebie called better Not Pout by Waxing Moon but can't stay awake to work on that.

Our federal taxes came in today and paid some bills with that. Going shopping tomorrow :-)

ok day

Woke up feeling pretty good. After my computer time I started laundry and then stitched on a RR. Didn't get much done since a friend called. We were on the phone for over an hour when she asked if she could come over. then she was here for 2 hours. We used to be inseperable. Now I see her every few months. Our kids grew up clos as little kids but are no longer friends, have nothing in common anymore. My friend got a job and remarried and we just have lost touch. I gave her her Christmas gift. I made her a sunflower beaded scissor fob and I bought her an Italian bracelet. i showed her the one that i had back in October and she had mentioned to me she had been wanting one for a couple of years but no one in her family had bought her one, even though she asked. So she said she had an idea I bought one for her as that is how the both of us have always been to each other. She had misplaced all but one item of my christmas gift, which was a candle :-)

Then when she left I pulled out Christmas Ornament 2003 by Vermillion Stitchery out of that years JCS ornament issue. I put the backstitching on the left top and then started stitching the left bottom . I will be changing this rotation back to the 25th of ach month as I got talked into stitching a Mirabilia SAL and this was the only spot I could fit it in. So I will be stitching Winter Queen. Those girls at stitching sisters yahoo group are so bad, twisted my arm and threatened me to do this SAL LOL.
Then about 7pm I started to feel really crappy again and now really tired. So the Vicks will come out tonight LOL.

Carol, I would have been mad as well if I was in your shoes and i do agree that the new car is an older person's car. My dad wanted one and a lady I know drives it and she isn't old but older than me, you know. I think that the car is really nice but know what you are saying. Scott wanted me to buy an Impala last year. I know that they are a great car but everyone that i know that drives one are over 55. To me that is an older person's car, again i didn't say old LOL.

Meari, I realized earlier today that I must have left your blog out and I need to fix that I am very sorry.

Lelia, L&L really don't have alot of color changes, not like Teresa Wentzler and Thomas Kinkade. L&L is much quicker to stitch on. Depends on the pattern as well and you might run into a little bit of areas like that.

A great day

I went to Curves this morning and then afterwards a few of us went out for breakfast. We go every 4th Wednesday of the month. Had alot of laughs and fun. It was beautiful out and got close to 50 out :-) Pulled out L&L Ice Angel around 1 pm and was on a stitching roll and did not want to put it down to work on....

Snowy Forest Evening Stocking. Then I got stitching on this and did not want to put it down. I have 4 big pieces going that i want to finish and I hate stitching on 2 other projects because of all the color changes.
Thanks for the comments that you have all been leaving for me or even emailing me your commments. I appreciate them very much.

Nothing on TV tonight as everything was repeats, been like that all week.

Tomorrow is RR and JCS ornament day :-)

UFO & Purple Day

This morning I went through all of my friend's blogs in my favorites and got all the links added here on my blog and in alphabetical order. That took me awhile but looks nice.

I stitched on Rocky Mountain Christmas by Marty Bell and remembered why this is a UFO. Too many color changes. I didn't feel like I accomplished anything.

Then I switched to I Shall wear Purple by Sue Hillis. I am doing this as a SAL with the Stitching Sisters group. I worked on the shoe in the lower right corner. I love this piece.

Tomorrow is L&L Ice Angel and Snowy Forest Evening Stocking :-)

Still fighting this cold or sinuses. Have a sore throat today, and feel blah but don't feel real sick, I don't know if that makes sense. i feel worse when i first wake up in the morning.

Mondays Musings

The beginning of the week, no school today or tomorrow due to President's Day. Went to Curves in the morning and then back home to clean and stitch. I got a late start on stitching. I started Debbie Mumm's Package ornament and just got the bow done on it.

Then at 4 I pulled out the sports ornaments. I started the baseball bat and ran out of 435, I have thousands of extra floss in my house but not this color. Then I stitched up Volleyball and then Basketball. Started football and my time was up for the night.

Movies watched last week:

Monster-In-Law

War of the Worlds

Millions(stupid)

Mr & Mrs Smith

I started reading:
Girls In Pants the Third Summer of the Sisterhood by Ann Brashares and I am enjoying this book.

Just about all of my TV shows this week are repeats or not on. But 24 was on tonight and it was awesome!

Tomorrow is UFO for half a day which is Marty bell's Rocky Mountain Christmas. Then the other half is a SAL with the Stitching Sisters and that is I Shall Wear Purple, by Sue Hillis.

Carol, I would love to stitch revelations with you but it may have to wait at least a year. I would fit it in where TW The Storyteller is and I just started that LOL. We can discuss it though. I never realized how many pages there were and thought ok I can do this and then realized that the chart is printed on both side, oy vey.

Productive Day

I had a pretty good day. First I finished LK february Stamp. Then I went through 6 Mill Hill kits that I had stitched last year but needed to be finished. So I cut them out anf glued on the pin backs or magnets. I then watched NASCAR and pulled out TW The Storyteller and put in some stitching. I had started it a few months ago and this gets rotated on Sundays from 4-10. Wish I could get more done but with all the color changes and blended threads, it takes forever.

Some of us have still been discussing the HGTV dream house and some of the changes we would make. I agree on not having the pool table and games in the one room but more comfy furniture to stitch. There is also a hug basement with exercise equipment and a dance floor. Take them out as well and some tables for scrapbookers. I think having it just for stitchers would be hard and need to fill in the weekends all year to cover the taxes LOL.

Happy Day?

After reading a couple of blogs that were tagged I decided to do this out of fun. So if you want to consider yourself tagged then go ahead and post on your blog :-)

Name 5 Things That Make Me Happy Today

1. I feel a little better today
2. The house is quiet as everyone is doing their own thing
3. the house smells great as the crock pot and bread machine are going
4. went grocery shopping so cupboards and fridge are full
5. I can sit and stitch all i want for the rest of the day

The crockpot has a chicken and rice casserole in it and I am making white bread in the machine, smells yummy.
Now I am done reading the blogs for the day and my emails so I wills it and stitch on LK February Stamp.

Stash, a Valentines exchange , a SAL , and a WIP

I had a great day today despite the cold and wind and my having a cold/sinuses. I started stitching on Christmas Angel by Joan Elliot from one of The Cross Stitcher issues. i had stitched the browns and reds alons with some of the white in the wing, last fall. So today I added the greys and backstitching of a section.

While I was stitching away on the angel I heard the mail lady honk her horn, which means she has a package for me. So DH went out and grabbed the mail. I received this Valentine exchange from Kirtsen and we are members of the Stitchingbrats Yahoo group. I just love this box that looks like leather .

inside of the box had red threads and a pack of notecards. Thank you so much Kirsten. I just love it!!

I started LK February Stamp. I am doing this as a monthly stitchalon and the LK stitchalon on Friends Gather BB. I go quite a bit done on that as well.
Also in the mail today was L&L Angel if the Sea. My friend Ruthann from the Cross Stitch pals was giving away some patterns and I asked for this. I don't know when I will get to it but it was on my wish list :-) Thank you Ruthann!!

I was watching HGTV tonight as they were showing the dream home that they are giving away this year. it is in NC in the mountains along a lake and is so gorgeous. There are guest quarters on one side of the house that sleeps 11. This would be a perfect place for a stitchers retreat. Was all open and had alot of comfy furniture, which everything was included in this house. I am sure it is on their website. You should go check it out :-)

RR and WIP ornament

I started to stitch on a RR. it is a Mill Hill RR that I am doing with a couple of the Cross Stitch pals. I didn't get as much done as i would like because I was running errands in the morning.

At 4 I pulled this WIP out. it is The Vermillion Stitchery Christmas Ornament 2003 from the 2003 JCS ornament issue. I am doing it on 36 ct Dirty Linen Edinburgh. I already had the top right done and the leaves on the top left. i did the rest today. All that needs to be done on the top left is the backstitching. next week I will work on this again. I love old fashioned santas.

Still not feeling all that great and my voice fades in and out. We have high wind advisory til tomorrow night and they are expecting damage and downed power lines.

Tomorrow I will stitch on a Christmas Angel for half a day and then the other half on LK february Stamp :-)

Stiching Blogging question

Comment on your comments (giving and receiving): Do you love comments or hate them? Do you check them every day, never check them, or find them helpful? And finally, are you convinced no one is reading yourblog if you don't get any?

I love getting comments and I read them every time. I also read about 25 blogs but I don't always post. For a while no one was leaving comments so I didn't think anyone was reading my blog :-) I don't know to put in a calendar or a counter or even blinkies so I enjoy looking at the other blogs :-)

Becky, I would love whatever Celtic ladies you can send me but only after you finish stitching them up. I am not in a hurry :-)

Von thanks for happy dancing with me on finishing the model piece :-)

Nicole, thanks for posting. I would like to look at your blog but it isn't listed in your profile :-(

A WIP and a new start

I started L&L Ice Angel. I would have had double the amount stitched but most of it was all off count and I had to frog and restitch it.

This is Snowy Forest evening Stocking from a Stocking book. I started this last year and it is for DH. I stitched on the antlers, branches, backstitching and the top left part of the blue and green :-)

I finished watching The Westminster Dog Show. The first time that I actually liked all the dogs that made it to Best of Show.

I had 3 movies come in from Netflix so I will be watching them the next couple of days. I do need to run to the local craft shop to get 3799 DMC. Out of the thousands of extra floss I have you would think I had it LOL. We have high winds on the way starting tomorrow night through Friday but it has been warm. Today was around 50 and again for tomorrow and then drop to 16 on Saturday. DS#1 and I have had scratchy throats and drainage so I knew something was up with the weather :-(

Thursday is small kit day and JCS ornament day. For the small kit I have a Mill Hill RR to stitch on and if time I will stitch the other one that I got last week as well.

Mondays Musings

I received stash in the mail. A big thank you to Carol. You introduced me to Heaven and Earth Designs and I fell in love with Revelation. I finally had found it last week and it came in today. I had no idea it as this big of a pattern and all of the pages involved. DS#1 laughed so hard at me and said good luck. I will show him but not til next year LOL
I also am a part of the Cross Stitch pals board and we have Marvelous Monday contests and last week I won Warm Winter Wishes by Sue Hillis Designs. so thank you to SerenaItaly for this chart :-)

Movies I watched last week:
Bewitched
Cruel Intentions
Miss Congeniality 2

I am getting ready to read Girls In Pants the Third Summer of the Sisterhood - Ann brashares.

Also I got a lot of stitching time in on the model piece and if I get to stitch this much tomorrow then it should be done tomorrow night otherwise it will be done on wednesday. I have my happy dancing shoes ready and believe me I will be dancing all around the house. I already warned my family.

I read yesterdays posts and carol NASCAR Daytona practice was scheduled for noon on NBC Sunday but they had the qualifying on instead. Sorry that you missed it. I am so psyched for the Daytona 500, woohoo!!! I enjoyed seeing Mikey in his new ride :-)

2 Happy dances

I started Bent Creek's February Snapper and LK Thanksgiving Flip It last weekend. I didn't have all of the overdyeds and my order came in on Friday so I finished them up today :-)

Tomorrow is back to the model piece. I am hoping really hard to finish it by the end of the week.

Watched Charmed and Desperate Housewives tonight. Awesome episodes. I also watched the Daytona 500 Qualifying and then the Nascar Bud Shootout. A Rookie won and was a pretty good race except for a couple of wrong moves by some impatient drivers

24 Hour Challenge finished

This was a 24 hour Challenge at FGBB. I stitched this up. it is February from the Year Full of Happy bu SamSarah Designs. I am doing all the months on a big piece of fabric using GAST.

For those of you worrying about me and the snow storm, we didn't get it. it hit NY city and we are by Buffalo. We didn't get any snow.
Today I will watch NASCAR and stitch and finish Bent Creek's February Snapper and LK February Stamp. I have them started and was witing fo the GAST and WDW to come in. They arrived on Friday so stitching and finishing happening all weekend :-)

My Inner Angel

HASH(0x8cb967c)
You are the Angel of Light.
Good Traits:
Your actions revolve around the kindness in your
heart, because you know the true value of
what there is to all that is good. You also
keep faith in your beliefs and try to make
choices that other people must choose from,
because your main goal in life is to teach
people how to choose right from wrong. You
are also a child of great beauty and serenity
and take pride in the task God had given you
in life. The task of saving people from the
power and Satin and the road to hell.
Bad Traits:
Though you may be helpful and kind, there are times
that you prevent people from learning the
lesson they must learn themselves, because
you wish to teach them yourself. You must
then learn that with the constant help of
you, the people you are aiding may not learn
what they need to learn, so they will become
too dependant on your kindness and fail to
teach themselves the lesson that must be
taught if you are not around. Please learn to
have more faith in God's children. ^^

Stitchers Blogging Question

Describe your "perfect" project. (Include the designer or specificpattern, the fabric, the floss, and anything else that would make thatproject "perfect" for you.)
My perfect project would be a Teresa Wentzler with all the blended threads all blended and ready for stitching. I would have all the time that I wanted to stitch on it and then get it framed right away and to hang on my wall :-)

Baby it's cold outside!

That song keeps going through my head. I was fine til I had to go out and put mail in the mailbox. BBRRRR.
it isn't snowing , YET!
I am still stitching away on the model piece and watching movies. I received 3 Netflix movies yesterday, watched one and will watch the other 2 this afternoon.
I had to make a fruit salad as our church is having a smorgasboard tonight.
I am still reading Second Summer of the Sisterhood

Not much else going on here.

This and That

The snow has let up and the flakes are coming down lightly. We ended up with about a foot of snow and the kids went back to school today. BeckySC invited me to SC but I think i got more stitching time in being here than if I was visiting her. :-) But what a sweet gesture my dear friend

Yesterday i finished reading Life Expectancy by Dean Koontz and started to read Second Summer of the Sisterood by Ann Bashares(?sp).

Because of the weather i got quite a bit of stitching time in on the model piece :-)

The movies that I watched last week:
Guess Who
Madagascar
The Human Stain
Deuce bigelow:European Gigolo
Fantastic Four

Today I received some stash in the mail. A friend and I exhanged some charts and I received:
Mirabilia:Shimmering Mermaid
L & L -Fairy grandmother
L& L - Angel Of The Morning

I don't know when i will get to stitch on them but they are now in my collection :-)

Plan on stitching on the model piece all day and get more reading time in.

Snowy and Blustery day!!

This is what it looks like out now and it is still coming down and supposed to get worse this afternoon. Across the road is a huge field and then woods. Can't even see it because of white out conditions and so dark and it is 11:30 am. There isn't any school for my kids and DS#1 is very mad as his Class Ring was coming in today. DS#2 went to his girlfriends house for the day. So DH took me to Curves this morning and then right back home. I will sit and stitch and stay warm, it is 22F out but very windy so I am sure that the wind chill is in the single digits.

This is Bent Creek February Snapper. This is all I got done on it, over the weekend. I need the rest of the floss to finish it. So then I moved onto....
LK Thanksgiving Flip It and only got this much done on it. I also have to wait for the rest of the colors to come in before I finish it.

Watched the Super Bowl and rooted for the Seahawks. I don't know who the officials were but they stunk. I have talked to so many steeler fans today and they also agreed that the officials were out after the Seahawks. Also the one touch down by the Steelers was not a touchdown. I don't even believe that John Madden could believe the call. His comments about it was also surprise. Oh well, at least it wasn't a blow out game and loved the commercials in the 1st half but after that they stunk. Mick Jagger looked great for his age but I am not to sure if it was their music or the Dome that made them sound horrible. But then Aretha sounded horrible as well so it makes you wonder if it was the sound system.

Dreary and rainy day

then will switch to snow tomorrow and we have a storm warning for this weekend :-(
I finished another page on the model piece and have one more to go WOOHOO!! I started bent Creek Snappers and LK Thanksgiving Flip It. I am in need of the overdyeds that i ordered to finish these 2 charts. I worked on February Snapper with the colors that i do have and then when I was done with those I switched to LK Thanksgiving Flip it. i will work on this til the new colors come in, any day now, or until I can't stitch on it due to not having the new colors. Then I will start a JCS ornament for the weekend. So much to choose from LOL.

Stitchers Blogging Question

With the exception of your online stitching friends, do you have any other stitching buddies?

I used to go to my LNS every Thursday night for their stitch in but I don't do that anymore. I didn't seem to fit in as I was the only SAHM and they all had money.
I try to get together with another group of great ladies but one has health problems now, one has a baby and just need to start back up with the other girl.
I also have a scrapbooking friend who cross stitches but since she got a job we no longer get together. Seems life gets in the way.
