Today I will be stitching on an exchange piece.

I did a bookmark exchange with the HOE blog and Annette had my name. I just love the bookmark that she stitched. Thank you so much!!

finished a book

well an audiobook anyways. I finished listening to The Lucky one by Nicholas Sparks and it is awesome. I had about 10 pages left when my ipod died lol. So I plugged it to charge and I have the book so I read the last 10 pages. Awesome book!!

Watched Lost tonight as well and I also was stitching. No pics as it is for an exchange. I want to thank everyone for your prayers. I know it helps. Tomorrow will be very hard and Scott is having a hard time this week with it as well. He didn't get to go with us last night but is going tomorrow.

My mom had surgery today and everything went well but she is having some pain. She has arthritis in her neck and pinched nerves caused by discs in her vertebrae. Will be a long recovery for her.

I am still here

I didn't stitch much over the weekend. I did finish a ornament for an exchange. I need to stitch another one for an exchange and then a RR. Last night I stitched on TW The Storyteller but I didn't put pics on my computer yet.

Today was calling hours for the 2 girls. Dylan started crying when he saw pics of the girls but really lost it when he got to the parents , especially the dad. The parents and their younger daughter were very strong. We got there at 7:10 and didn't get to the caskets til 9:10. That is how long the line was and they still had a long line when we were leaving. Justin also went and he was emotional as well. I reminisced a little bit with the mom.

Prayers needed

Our school has lost 2 sisters in a horrible car accident. The oldest , Sarah , was 17 and is one of Dylan's best friends for about 8 years now. She is one of the the friends of his who didn't party at all. Very sweet girl and I love her parents. Dylan is pretty close to her dad. Her sister, Gretchen , was 16. They also have a younger sister, who was not with them. This is a parents nightmare and my heart goes out to the family. Sarah ran through a stop sign and was hit by a truck hauling a car. This is devastating to say the least and I am sure that the community and family could use some prayers.

Thanks

Happy Hump Day!

Not much to post here. I did stitch tonight but it is for an ornament exchange so no pic. I worked out with the Wii Fit. Dylan stitched with me tonight while we watched Lost but it was just a recap. I received charts in the mail be HAED. I love their patterns. I really need to get this batch of exchanges done and don't sign up for more so I can finish some of my WIPs and UFOs. I really want to start some of the HAED and they take awhile to finish. Well not much to say.
Oh yeah, Dylan and his girlfriend went out to have a cig and she came running up to me and grabbed my hand and dragged me outside. There on the porch is a grey tiger cat all lovey and purring. Dylan and Shelbi said it kept trying to come in the house. So we gave it some dry food. he was soaked as it had been raining out. I have never seen this cat before. We always end up with the strays and take them in, but after an hour Dylan went back out and the cat is now gone. I will have to keep an eye out for it.

TW The Storyteller

I am stitching on this on Monday night with a new friend , Connie. I stitched the border on the top right and a little bit of what is in the middle. Until next week....

I also watched 24 and Medium. Listened to The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks. Book is pretty good.

a finish and a new start

I finished the bookmark that is for an exchange so no pic.
I have been wanting to start a HAED (Heaven And Earth Design) for a long time. Well I printed a freebie and then bought the fabric. This is Aurora's Garden.

I watched a movie today: Yes Man with Jim Carrey. Pretty good. Tonight's TV show was Desperate Housewives , which I enjoyed.

Tomorrow I will be stitching on TW The Storyteller. Connie read about my stitching this and she wanted to stitch with me for motivation. She doesn't have a blog but I will post my progress.

Oh yeah and Dylan started stitching his mythical creature. I basted the first page border. He thinks he can do one square (10x10) a day. I am not so sure if he can do that but we will see.
I will post pics of that when I get a chance.

Stash shopping

I had Scott take me to the LNS. I bought some goodies for a few exchanges I am in. I bought Dylan a piece of fabric to stitch on and a piece of 25 count for a HAED freebie that I would like to start.

Came home and did dishes and some laundry. Sat and stitched most of the day and watched 2 movies from netflix.
Bedtime Stories with Adam Sandler - was cute and funny
The Fountain with Hugh Jackman - was ok

I got my Facebook reactivated. I still like blogging so much better.

Thanks for all the comments. I appreciate all of them :-)

Sushi & Wine goes well together

My sister took myself, Justin , Dylan and his girlfriend, out for sushi. It was to celebrate our birthdays. We ate so much and ordered different things and tried each others. MMMMM. Then we stopped and got 2 bottles of wine. So you guessed right, no stitching tonight. We are having fun online and drinking. Dylan has a bonfire going and we just ordered pizza. No I did not give the wine to the kids. So my sister is spending the night and Scott had to go into work tonight.

Scott is taking me to the LNS tomorrow as I need to get fabric and a few things for exchanges.

I am planning on stitching tomorrow but I have had too much wine tonight to pull out a needle LOL.

playing with my blog

I am really trying to find a background and banner that fits me. I love purple, butterflies, faeries, and goth type. Can't seem to find something that will be easy for me to add to my blog.

I also love HAED patterns and i really want to start one soon but I have so many other WIPs and UFOs to stitch and I don't want it to turn into a UFO. I have a big family room and would to change the colors in it to have my one whole wall into all of my finishes. Especially fantasy pieces.

I also am in a RR which is taking up a lot of my time and I joined several exchanges. I can't wait for this batch of exchanges to be over so I can stitch on a WIP/UFO during the week. So much to stitch so little time. I also have 4 audiobooks to listen to and 3 movies from netflix to watch. I am hoping to get a lot accomplished this weekend. Just perch on my corner of the couch with my bottled water and remotes or ipod and no one bother me all weekend LOL. With a DH and 2 teenage boys I don't see that happening. Hmmm I wonder if DH will take me to the LNS on Saturday. I need to get Dylan some fabric as he wanted a mythical creature to stitch and I found one and bought it online. But it is as time consuming as a HAED so we will see if his patience will keep him at it. It has a lot of bright colors in it and takes a lot of floss.

Well the clock just chimed that it is 11 pm. Dylan is out in the backyard with a few friends having a bonfire. At least they are being quiet. He had one last night with the promise of no one sneaking in alcohol (I know party pooper mom) but his friends were glad that I said no. They were gone by midnight last night and I never knew they were here. They are right behind my bedroom too so I would have heard them. They also have to respect the neighbors who get up for work as well.

Night All and thanks for reading my ramblings.

Weekend stitching

For most of the weekend the frog visited me. I had stitched a little bit on PaPa Bunny but i had to take it all out.

Saturday was my SAT with Only One Ewe BB and Stitching Sisters Yahoo group. So I pulled out M designs Halloween Tree. I would have had more done but the frog visited me then as well.
Sunday I started Boo Needleroll by Down Sunshine Lane and this one the frog was absent.

Today I stitched on the bookmark for an exchange.

I worked out with the Wii Fit and I have lost 2 lbs, woohoo!!

Thank you all for those that read my blog and/or leave comments.

Good evening

had a good day at work. Came home to read emails and BBs. Then worked out on the Wii and beat yesterdays challenges. it is really a lot of fun.
I stitched some more on the bookmark for the exchange and finished the bottle of wine that I bought the other night. It was blueberry wine and pretty good. I have been trying new wines. The one I bought 2 weeks ago was chocolate Lab and it was very sweet. I still have some left as I don't have a sweet tooth and I like it but not to have a glass every night.

Well I guess it is time to go to bed. My clock struck 11pm and the dog is curled up next to me in a deep sleep so he is probably ready as well.

a little chatty tonight

work was slow so I left early. came home and did emails and BBs. The library called and 4 audiobooks that I wanted came in.
The Lucky One - Nicholas Sparks
Invisible Prey - John Sandford
Phantom Prey - John Sandford
My Sisters Keeper - Jodi Picoult

I watched:
general Hospital
24
Medium
Lost
while stitching on the bookmark for an exchange.

I also did some more of the Wii Fit today and did a run with it. Thought I was gonna die and wanted to give up but Dylan and his girlfriend were in the room encouraging me.

I was visiting a few blogs and came across this Zentangle . Now I don't know about you but I doodled this stuff all the time as a teenager. In boring classes, while on the phone with friends, etc. Now they think they have to teach us how to do it? My major in school was art and I actually have my portfolio still. Now I want to invest in some nice pens and sketch pad and do this again.

I also received an award from Carolyn. Thank you so much. I do not give out awards anymore since all of my blogging friends keep getting them and I post and comment on your blogs whenever I can.

Well my glass of wine is almost empty so I guess it is time for bed. Everyone thank you for reading my blogs and for the comments, I love them all and appreciate all the friendships that I have formed.

I am so bad

I had made a list of a 25 project challenge. I can not buy any new patterns til I stitch up 25 finishes. I can not include RRs except for my own block and I can't count exchanges. Well....I ordered from Down Sunshine Lane. I needed fabric and fibers plus the new LK Boo. I didn't feel so guilty BUT I am now hooked on HAED and they have a sale so I ordered 4 charts. So I broke my promise to myself, good thing I didn't tell the boys or DH *grin*.

Today I pulled out the Wii Fit. I had been playing the Sports package but I really wanted to get into the Fit for every day. I am way overweight and I made a goal and I have to work out every day. I am 44 but my Fit age is 39 so thats not to bad. I was proud of that fact.

I only got in about 30 minutes of stitching on a Bookmark for an exchange.

Well tomorrow is a new day and hoping to get in more stitching time.

Charts ordered from HAED:
Selina Fenech designs:
QS Littlest Fairy
Happy Thoughts
Memorilia
Secret Doorway

stitching on an exchange

so no pics. I am glad that I asked the stitching questions the other day. I was told about railroading several years ago and have done it since. But after reading some of your answers I got to thinking, I don't stitch as fast as I used to so I no longer RR and my stitching has picked up quite a bit. So thank you for all of your opinions.

2 more Halloween finishes

Went shopping this morning with Dylan. Went to Joanne's and I bought some Easter and Spring fabric and ribbon. Came home and sat down to stitch.

Halloween Pumpkin
Jeanette Douglas
32 ct Chestnut Permin Linen , DMC
I only had to finish the 2 rows on Halloween Pumpkin Ornament. So now it is done.

Spooky Time
Lizzie Kate
16 ct black aida , GAST
Then I have had Spooky Time by Lizzie Kate all kitted up since 2000 so out it came and I finished it. Except for the 2 little googly eyes that I need to place where the Os would go. I could not find any in my craft cupboard.

While stitching I watched:
Smallville - DVR
Supernatural-DVR
Rachel Getting Married - DVD- dumb

I did not get any finishing in so I left everything out and will do one piece a night this week.

received an award

I received this award from Kristi and I am supposed to nominate more blogs but you all know that I have nominated a lot before and everyone keeps receiving awards. I want to thank Kristi very much for nominating me. I am honored.

Saturday SAT and thanks for answers

I stitched quite a bit today on M Designs. My question today is: Who sent me the fricking frog? That wasn't nice and what did I do to you? LOL After fixing something from last week I was on a roll.
I also want to thank all of you that answered my stitching questions the other day. I have been railroading for quite a few years now and have noticed I am a much slower stitcher. So today I stopped, which was hard at first. and my stitching was so much quicker. Plus I don't notice a difference on my piece.

I got my ipod all hooked up and The Gargoyle audiobook is on it. So I listened to it while stitching tonight. Wonder what next Saturday will bring and if I can finish the Halloween Tree.

Thank you and Fri SAT

Thank you for all of my birthday wishes. You are all so sweet.
Yesterday was Friday SAT with the Lets Stitch blog and Stitching Sisters yahoo group. I worked some more on PaPa Bunny by The Sweetheart Tree.

Last night Scott tool me out for my birthday dinner. We went to a great Prime Rib restaurant that we love. Since I had seafood last week and 2 Italian restaurants I wanted a nice piece of prime rib. Both of ours was a little tough. Very unusual for this place. But I did get to spend time with my hunny and that is what counts.

So when we got home I pulled out PaPa Bunny and stitched for a couple of hours.

This weekend is FAL weekend so I need to pull out what I had planned for April.

Then onto putting things on my ipod.

Happy Birthday to me!!

Yes, Today is my birthday and the weather was perfect. The lady at work bought me lunch from our local Mexican restaurant. Then Justin & Dylan , and his GF, took me out for dinner. We went to Carrabas, which is an Italian restaurant that I hadn't been to yet. The food was really good. Then the boys took me to Walmart so they could buy me a ipod nano(purple of course). This will hold more in it than my current mp3 player. I bought myself a Nickelback CD that came out in the fall. Plus I bought the charger docking station for the wii remotes. Scott will celebrate with me this weekend since he works nights. I didn't get any stitching time in but that is ok as I spent it with 3 people who I love dearly. I also had a few txt messages this morning , from Shelbi(Dylan's GF) and one of Dylan's friends who is like another son to me, and my sister. my mom called me on the phone. Couldn't have been more perfect unless Scott didn't have to work and could have gone out with us.
On the way home we played my CD really loud and had the windows down part way. Yes, I love Rock music and loud. Plus I have a little sports car (99Cougar) that I just love to drive on says like this. We loved the CD except for Justin. he says is that all they sing about is booze, sex and drugs , LOL. He likes country music.
