More Fairy Day

I have been listening to You've Been warned by James Patterson and am almost done.
Tonight I watched Wind Chill from Netflix. I give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
I also stitched a lot today and have this much done on HAED Fly Butterfly.

Nothing else going on here. The kids chipped in cleaning. Been raining quite a bit and supposed to for 5 days.

stitching away

I finished listening to 7th Heaven and I loved it!
Friday night I finished Just Nan Kari's Snowflake. I did this as a Stitch a Thon with the Let's Stitch blog and Stitching Sisters Yahoo group.

Saturday I didn't stitch at all. I was so mad at my family and their lack of helping me around the house. So I set my foot down and bitched them out. Things got done then.

Yesterday went to a graduation party. Not many people but that was my first outing so that was good.

I finished listening to The 6th Target by James Patterson, right before the battery died on my ipod. Another great one. 7th Heaven is next.
I stitched some more on HAED Freebie, Fly, Butterfly. Love the colors in this.

RIP Ed McMahon earlier in the week, still looking for my check in the mail :-)
Farrah Fawcett, you fought hard.
Michael Jackson, loved your music despite all your problems.

To all my friends who have been looking at my blog and/or commenting, thank you so much

Finally!! an ornament

Most of my stitching friends know that I stitch an ornament every month around the 25th to keep Christmas alive. But this year has been very bad and I think I stitched 1 in January. I don't count exchanges. This is Patriotic Snowman by The Stitchworks, LTD from the 2003 JCS ornament issue.

Faeries and Dragons, OH MY!

Sunday I stitched on Nora Corbett's Halloween Fairy. I also watched Friday the 13th (2008) and finished listening to 5th Horseman by James Patterson.
yesterday i slept a lot so not much stitching. I did a couple of hours on TW The Storyteller. I also started listening to 6th Target by James Patterson and watched Evening , which was pretty good.

Today i want to stitch on an ornment.

Quilt Sampler update

Yesterday I stitched some more on this. I am hoping to finish it next month.

My parents stopped by for a visit. It was nice to see them as their health hasn't been the greatest.

Today is Halloween Day so I will be stitching on Halloween Fairy.

I am BAAACK!!!

My surgery went as planned and no complications. The hospital stay was fine and they have a great staff of nurses and techs. loved them all. They also were quiet at night so I could sleep. My surgery was on Thursday morning and I was released at noon on Saturday. While there I finished an exchange on friday night and I stitched a little bit on the Quilt Sampler on Saturday. One of my nurses loves to cross stitch and she fell in love with the quilt sampler. She also told of a craft store in the city that sells used charts and DMC is .10 a skein.

Sunday, between naps I stitched some more on Halloween Fairy by Nora Corbet. I really enjoy stitching on her.
Then Monday & Tuesday I stitched on the Quilt sampler and now I only have 2 more blocks and some of the border left.
Wednesday was HAED day for me and this is freebie Aurora's Garden. I have 1 column done on page 1. I love the colors.
Today I stitched another page of Twas The Night Before Christmas by Little Old Me Designs. This stitches up quick.
Yes, I am getting a lot of rest. Sleeping when I need it as well.

I also finished listening to My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult and gave it a 5/5 rating. I just loved this book. I am now listening to The 5th Horseman by James Patterson.
In the evenings I watch a movie as well.
This week I have watched:
Gran Torino - it was ok- very slow
Baby on Board- good
Spring Breakdown - good
Georgia Rule - good

True Blood also started its second season on Sunday and I ended up watching it on Monday since I couldn't stay awake.
Tomorrow is my doctor's appointment.

Now I plan on picking up Christmas Ornament stitching since it has been neglected all year. Now I remember why I loved being a SAHM for 19 years lol. I sure do miss it. But I also like my job and having stash money.

WIP pics and pet pics

I stitched some more on Hallween Fairy on Sunday. So 1/4 of it is done.
Saturday I finished another square on Quilt Sampler.
I took pics of our new cat but took one of the dog as well. This is my baby Dreyx. He is 8 1/2 years old, rottie/shepherd mix. Him and the cat hit it off as soon as she came out of the pet carrier.
This is Molly. Her eyes get runny once in awhile. The shelter wasn't sure if it was allergies or stress. They were giving her a cream for it. The first 2 days we brought her home they were bad but seem to be getting better. if not then I will have to call our vet and see what they can do for her. She is such a lovey cat and sleeps all night with me.
She is a little butterball and has a small head for her big body LOL. I call her Miss Molly and Dylan calls her Molly Moo.

I had preop this morning. They drew blood and took chest xrays. Tomorrow afternoon i have to call to see what time my surgery is and when to get to the hospital.

Tonight I listened to more of My Sisters Keeper while stitching on the RR
Tomorrow will be my last day at work for a few weeks. The only thing bad about that is no pay. I work 27-32 hours a week and am part time. My employer only pays disability for full time employees. So no stash buying for a while.

I have a bunch of audiobooks downloaded into my computer and have 6 more sitting here to put on my computer so I am hoping to get a lot of them listened to while laid up. Plus movies in the evenings. Also lots of stitching time in. Maybe a couple of big finishes. But I will not make any promises :-)

cleaning and organizing

I have books galore and some that I have had for over 10 years. Sooo I bagged up a lot of them and gave some to Justin's boss and some I will take to work tomorrow. Then I tried to put my favorite web sites on my laptop but my laptop needs a major overhaul and the cd rom drive is shot. I don't have the money for a new laptop so Dylan is going to try to work on it this week. I wanted to take it to the hospital or at least get it running so I can use it while on the couch for a couple of weeks.
Washing all of the dirty laundry so that will be out of the way. Otherwise I did pick up and Dylan will vacuum and clean the kitchen floor.

Ok enough of that. Time to go stitch and listen to My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult.

Strange but good day

I had an appointment with the surgeon this morning. He agreed that I need a hysterectomy. He said he couldn't get me in until the beginning of August :-(. The fibroid cyst is resting on my bladder. Even though the cyst has no pain it causes problems with my bladder. Also work gets real busy in September so I was hoping to have it done sooner. I was told that once the schedule was made that someone would call me by Monday. Ok.
In the mean time, Sunday I had gone to Petco in our area and they have cats & kittens up for adoption. I fell in love with a 3 year old female named Molly. I also like a kitten and another 6 year old female. I haven't been able to get Molly out of my heart and Scott told me to get her. Remember I already have 3 cats and a dog. So last night I emailed the animal shelter. I told them I was interested in her and I have 3 cats and a dog. They emailed me back this morning saying she would fit in with us and to go to Petco and fill out the adoption papers and it would take a day to find out if I could have her. I picked up Dylan after school and we head over to Petco. Since Sunday all of the other cats were adopted but Molly and the other 6 year old cat, who is very sweet. I fill out the application and leave it at the store. On the way home the shelter had picked up my application and approved me, woohoo! I could get her now. So I went home and grabbed the cat carrier and away we went to pick her up. Meanwhile I got another phone call from the doctors office. They fit me in for my surgery next Thursday, hooray!! So I have tomorrow and next week Monday and Wednesday left to work. Tuesday is preop day.

Dylan and I picked up Shelbi and we went and got Molly. She is very sweet and gets along with my dog, rottie and shepherd mix, he likes her as well. But she is hissing and yelling at my cats lol. I am sure they will be fine. This works out well though as I will be home for a few weeks to help her transition here. Also Justin is home from college and Dylan has 2 weeks left of school so I will get a lot of help around the house. Dylan's girlfriend Shelbi also said she would help me.

Keep me in your prayers and thoughts.

I used to list my goals but haven't done so in a while. My one main goal is not to sign up for so many exchanges. I had 5 all at one time and it took me away from all my WIPs/UFOs

WIPs

Last night I worked some more on The Storyteller. I was doing it as a SAL with Connie to keep motivated but she has to bow out for a couple of months so I have to be really good and keep pulling this out on Mondays.
Sunday is Halloween Day for me so I pulled out Halloween Fairy by Nora Corbett. I did change something already though. The Kreinik #4 braid says 2 strands but I thout it looked bulky so I took it out and used 1 strand and I think it looks better.
Then Saturday was my SAT(stitchaThon) with Only One Ewe BB and Stitching Sisters yahoo group. I stitched on another square of Quilt Sampler. So this square, 3 more and then the border and it will be done.

I also stitched quite a bit more on HAED Aurora's Garden but I didn't update a pic like I thought I did.

Also watched a few movies:
My Bloody Valentine - Netflix
Underworld: Rise of The Lycons - Netflix
Bride wars - Netflix
Storm Cell- Netflix
A Valentine carol- on the DVR- Lifetime movie
Marley & me - Netflix
