September WIPocalypse & other news

Can you believe it is the end of September already? Tomorrow is October already. Autumn is my favorite season and I am loving the temps, colors and smells :-)

So for this second WIPocalypse for the month I stitched on HAED - Lusk- Aurora's Garden and I finished page 2.

Then I finished the top half of S is For Stitcher out of June 2008 Cross Country Stitiching magazine

Now I am stitching on page 4 of Marty Bell's Rocky Mountain Christmas. I only have a little bit left of this column for the page to be done.

Next in my rotation is to finish Mirabilia's Halloween Fairy.

This week hasn't been a good one. Last Saturday DS#1 started out with a sore throat which left him on Sunday only to come down with a horrible cough. Monday I came home from work and could smell gas in my house. My oven wasn't working right so DH had put in a new part. He thought he had it taken care of. I woke up around midnight because I could smell gas again. Called DH at work. I opened all the windows and had the fan going. We don't have natural gas, it's a propane tank. Anyways we shut off the tank so no more gas. Tuesday DH came down with the cough. Wednesday I come down with a scratchy throat a couple of hours before leaving work. By Wednesday night I felt really sick and plugged up. I woke up in the middle of the night and realized that my dog had labored breathing. So I comforted him while falling asleep and our cat Molly was rubbing against his face to love him up. I woke up again and the dog now has collapsed on the floor and his breathing is worse and he will not get up. He is an 11 1/2 year old Rottie/Shepherd mix. I have owned him for 10 years and adopted him at a shelter. Best dog you could ever want. Called DH at work, need to come home Dreyx is dying. DH gets home and still can not get the dog up. I call the vet and we take him in. We had to put him on his blanket and then put that on a sleeping bag to drag him gently through the house and lift him into the truck. Anyways, vet can't hardly hear his heartbeat. He is having stomach contractions, which we believe are tumors. We could have xrays done and if he has tumors not much we can do and the vet and I are really concerned about not hearing the heartbeat. So leaving DH and I alone we make the decision to let him go. You can tell in his eyes that he is done. They are not bright and he always lets me love him up and he was turning his head away from me. The vet came in to ask if we had anymore questions and she wasn't rushing us. I told her since she believes he has tumors in his stomach or something around his heart, and with his age that we did not want anything else done for him. He probably wouldn't make it through any operation anyways. So I laid curled up on the floor with him while saying goodbye to my beautiful dog. We took him home to bury him.
My day gets worse with being sick that by the time it is nighttime I am pretty sure that I have bronchitis. DS#2 and his girlfriend came over to mourn Dreyx and they ordered pizza and wings. I really couldn't eat much and Allie was getting concerned about my breathing.
Friday I went to the doctors and I have asthmatic bronchitis and an ear infection. I am on 4 meds, yeeha. This weekend was Naples Grape Festival and I am so upset that I couldn't go. Friday DS#2 also came down sick. He went to Urgent Care yesterday and he got there as it was turning into bronchitis. So meds for him too. DH still has a cough but Robitussin is helping him. I had been so sick that I hadn't been mourning Dreyx much til yesterday. It has hit me and Molly is looking for him through out the house. The other 3 cats looked for him but Molly really loved him. She is having a hard time of it.
DH still needs to fix the oven so everything is either sandwiches or anything that I can cook in the microwave.
Well I am going to go stitch some more and watch another disc of season 1 Party Of Five.

Here is Dreyx:

S is For stitcher - top half done

I finished the top half for S is For Stitcher and it will go back into rotation. This is from the June 2008 Cross Country Stitching magazine.

My order from HAED came in today. It was in appreciation for all of their hard work and they have been talking about shutting down business because people are posting the charts illegally, online.
I bought:
 Faces Rae - Hannah Disney

 Faces of Faery 135 - Jasmine Becket-Griffith

Faces of Faery 88 Jasmine Becket-Griffith

 Mini Felicity Hannah Lynn

Mini Hannah Lynn - Hannah Lynn

 QS Rosita - Hannah Disney

QS Sea Star Jasmine Becket-Griffith

I love them all and will stitch them someday :-)

I have been reading and watching movies.
I am done reading the Hannah Swensen mysteries by Joanne Fluke. I really enjoyed them. I am still listening to the FBI series by Catherine Coulter. I have one more book after the one I am listening to. Right now I am reading V is for Vandetta by Sue Grafton.

Last night's movie was The Vow, which I really enjoyed. Tonight's movie is Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
I also will be stitching on Rocky Mountain Christmas.

Thank you all for the comments, they mean a lot to me.

Sept. IHSW & TUSAL

This weekend was the IHSW and I stitched on S is For Stitcher . This is out of the June 2008 Cross Country Stitching magazine. I ran out of the yellow that you see under the letters E & R. So I went to Michaels after work. They were out of this color. So DH said he will go to a local craft store and see if they have it.

Yesterday was also TUSAL and the threads in the orts glass are from HAED Aurora's Garden and S is For Stitcher.

This is busy season at work and we have picked up a lot since last season. Very tired when I get home so you may not see me leaving comments on your blogs and you may not seeing me post much on my blog. I am ok, just may not be on as much.

IHSW and catching up

First off this weekend is IHSW and I plan to do a lot. It has been a crazy 2 weeks at work and I need to veg all weekend. Supposed to be cool this weekend, can you say Autumn? My favorite time of year.

I know that I haven't been on here lately. So let's back up and see... oh yeah I finished page 2 of Aurora's Garden
Next rotation I will finish her.

Sept. 2 DH and I went to the NY State Festival of Balloons in Dansville, NY. They also had a car show that day. I love the muscle cars and will show you a couple pics and since you know what hot air balloons look like then I will post pics of the unique ones.

I have also been stash shopping. I know, I said no more charts til I finish everything that I have started. But who can resist HAEDs and trying to support them this week.
So the past few weeks I have ordered 3-4 pieces of Picture This Plus fabric for some charts in the JCS Halloween issue. Then I ordered a years subscription to Stoney Creek Magazine. I received the JCS Christmas Ornament issue. So for HAED I have ordered and received Boo from Randall Spangler during the Labor Day sale. I am starting that January 1 with a few other stitchers. Then yesterday for HAED appreciation week I ordered:
Minis:
Felicity
Hannah Lynn

QS:
Rosita
Sea Star

Faces of HAED:
Faces Rae
Faces of Faery 135
Faces of Faery 88

I pulled out S is For Stitcher from a Cross Country stitching magazine. I started it a few years ago and will post a pic on Sunday night.

My manager was out on Medical leave from Sept 4 - Sept. 12. She came back yesterday. We were very busy while she was gone and when she is gone then I am in charge. So more hours and very tired when I got home. Busy season has hit us hard and way more work than 3 people can handle. But my paycheck is nice :-)

Have a great IHSW!!

August Bue Moon WICapolypse

This is the 2nd WIPocalypse for the month. Since the last one I stitched on more of Faces of Faery 66
I also have been stitching on HAED Aurora's Garden. I want to finish page 2 before putting it back into rotation.
I do not know where the month of August went.
True Blood season finale was last Sunday and what a blood bath that season was. Then Tuesday was the season finale of Pretty Little Liars, shocking parts on that. Now the new shows are on for September. General Hospital is being moved to an hour earlier. Live With Kelly will reveal her new cohost this Tuesday.
Oct 1 is a new show I am dying for. In The 90's and some of 2000s there was a show on ABC Family called Home&Family. It had Christine Ferrari and Chuck Woolery as the hosts. Then Michale Burger took over for Chuck Woolery. It was on for 2 hours in the afternoons and was full of tips and all kinds of things. Well it is back on and will be on the Hallmark Channel from 10am-noon est. It has Mark Steines, who left Entertainment Tonight and Page ? from Trading Spaces. I watched Home & Family faithfully every weekday. I was so upset when they changed the format of ABC Family and let the show go. It is still going to be produced by Woody Frasier. That is one thing I am looking forwards to this fall season.
As for evening shows, I have decided not to pick up any new shoes. I was going to watch Green Arrow and the Beauty & the Beast. But I would rather watch what is left of my shows and then watch more movies/read/listen to audiobooks. I am having a void of not being able to watch Desperate Housewives anymore and the very ending of that was sad.
I have a feeling it is the last season for a few of my shows: Supernatural, Bones, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice. They are long running shows and PP has a few major actors/actresses leaving the show.  No, I haven't heard any rumors. Just my take on the shows.

Have a Happy Labor Day!!! No plans except to go see the Balloon Festival in Dansville, NY.
