June IHSW

This weekend was IHSW. I only stitched for about 2 hours. But it is closer to a finish. Here is what I have so far on HAED SK Sunny.
I only have a couple more rows to go and it will be finished.

I was tagged

I was tagged by Julie and have to answer the following. Then I will have to come up with questions and tag 11 people. This is just for fun.

1.)  Chocolate, Vanilla, or Strawberry?  (If none of these are acceptable, you must choose a flavor that is!) Hmmmm. If soft ice cream then it is vanilla. Ice cream is chocolate and strawberries fresh from the store LOL.

2.)  If you could meet any famous person, living or dead, and ask them one question (ONLY ONE), who would it be and what would you ask them? John Stamos - will you marry me?  Tee hee hee

3.)  What's the hardest thing you've ever done and why was it so difficult? Going back to work after being a SAHM for almost 18 years. I love being home and doing what I want. Time to clean, be on the computer, stitch more and read more.

4.)  Who did you look up to as a child, and do you still look up to them today?  (This can be a parent, a rock star, an athelete, whatever.  You can also list multiple people.) I don't really remember looking up to anyone. My maternal grandmother because she could cook awesome and she painted. My maternal grandfather because he always spent time with me, he helped me learn to drive andwe always went on long bike rides.

5.)  List the pros and cons (for you, keep it personal) of what you do for a living.  If you could go back and do it again, would you do the same thing, or change it?  What would you change it to, and why? I am a forage lab technician. The pros - I only work with 2 other women so no backstabbing since we all get a long well. cons- putting up with the clients when things don't go their way. Even though we do the best we can.

6.)  What's your favorite meal?  (You can say anything in response to this, including dinner, breakfast, tea, lunch, etc.  It can be your fave meal of the day, or meatloaf and mashers.  Up to you.) I love seafood, any kind so as long as it has that in it then I am happy.

7.)  What's your favorite way to communicate your ideas to others?  How often to you partake of this method of communication? In person. Things come out wrong in emails and txting.

8.)  What's the nicest thing you've ever done for someone you don't know?  Talking to en elderly woman , who had just hit a dog. Everyone, including my DH was helping the woman whose dog was hit. The lady kept crying she was sorry and never saw the dog. He just came out of nowhere. No one asked her if she was ok. I stood by her til the cop got there, to make sure she was ok and to let her know it was an accident. The owner of the dog did not blame her at all.

9.)  What's the number one problem with the world today? POLITICIANS!!!!!

10.)  Do you like technology, or are you one of those people that only puts up with it when they have to?  (By tech, I don't only mean computers.  I mean smart phones and HDTV and digital radio and iPods and everything.) I like technology. I have a smart phone and I can read my emails and Facebook when I am not home. I can go online to find something or a place and I like my navigator to get me to new places. I also have an ipod that has audiobooks on it. I can listen to it when I am in a certain job at work also.

11.)  If you could have one perfect day, who would you see and what would you do?  (Get descriptive here people.  Write a paragraph or two.) I would love a romantic day with my husband. No cell phones or anything. Just to drive to a beach and have a picnic then after that drive to a state park to see all the wildlife when it is dusk out. Just him and I since we don't ever do anything.

Here are the people that I would like to see answer questions: And their questions below

June Wipocalypse

It's that time of the month to post what I have stitched on since the last Wipocalypse
HAED SK Sunny

Mirabilia Halloween Fairy
I can't believe how long it has been since I have posted. I have been stitching though. I have put aside Halloween Fairy so I can finish Sunny.

I also have been busy making jewelry so I can start doing home parties. I am excited about that.
I really don't have any other news from my end. I have been reading and listening to audiobooks. I finished The Hunger Games series, still on the Catherine Coulter FBI series. I also started a new book by a new author. She is married to my cousin and I am enjoying this book very much. It is called The Fairytale Keeper and is book 1 of a trilogy. It is by Andrea Cefalo. It just hit the bookstores and Amazon June 1.

IHSW & TUSAL

This weekend was the IHSW weekend. I stitched on HAED SK Sunny.
I also stitched on Mirabilia Halloween Fairy

Today was TUSAL and here is this month's ort container. All the threads in this are from the Halloween Fairy and Sunny.
Yesterday and today were very hot and humid. We even had an air quality alert today.

Lots of beads have been coming in the mail, from ebay. I am hoping to make more jewelry next weekend. I would have made some this weekend but I wanted to do the IHSW instead. Nothing else going on in my part of the world.

row 1 of page 3 done

I have been stitching as much as I can on HAED SK Sunny. This is moving right along and this page doesn't have a lot of confetti stitching.

This week has had quite a few series and season finales. They have all been emotional.
I watched:
Once Upon A Time
Desperate Housewives - ending was emotional
Bones
House- finale is next week
Private Practice
Revenge- finale is next week
tonight's Grey's Anatomy- could not believe who it was that died.  I won't spoil this for those who haven't watched it yet.

I got back the results of my CT scan, I do have a hernia but they want me to lose 10-20 lbs by mid July before they do surgery. There is also some other health issues that showed up but these specialists don't deal with them and don't really understand them so I see my regular doctor next week, to deal with them. I am sure everything will be fine though. Will post more after that appointment.

I finished listening to Point Blank by Catherine Coulter and will start listening to a Sandra Brown audiobook. I will also be starting to read Double Take by Catherine Coulter.

Thanks for reading and leaving comments. I appreciate all of you.

Page 2 is finished!!

I did it, I finished page 2 of HAED SK Sunny. I then gridded page 3, which is the final page, and put in a few stitches.
My goal is to finish her by the end of June. Since there is a lot of block stitching without changing colors I should be able to do it.

I had my CT scan this morning. So not only didn't I care for the doctor's office or the doctor and his assistant , I also was mad today. I went to the building for the CT scan. I gave my name and they have no folder on me. The doctor's office never sent over the acquisition forms so there was nothing there. They had to wait for them. It didn't take long but at this point if I need surgery do I really want those yahoos touching me?

So today I went through all my blogs in Google Reader and got rid of the ones who haven't posted to their blogs this year. I left comments on quite a few.

Then I watched:
General Hospital
Witches of Oz - miniseries I DVRd from Encore
The Vampire Diaries season finale
Grey's Anatomy

I also read some more Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins.

Have a good night.

Wednesday's progress

Took Dylan out for dinner at a Mexican restaurant. Then bought some groceries, came home and stitched. I made some more progress on Sunny.

I watched:
General Hospital
Red- with Bruce Willis- very good

Reading: Mockingjay - Suzanne Collins
Audiobook: Point Blank - Catherine Coulter

Tomorrow is my CT scan. Wish me luck.

I found out that some ladies from the 123 board are meeting Saturday, at the LNS in E. Rochester and spending the day there so I have decided to join them. I have never met any of them and it should be fun. I told DH that I am taking the Saturday off from his parents so he is on his own :-). He was fine with that.

Thanks for reading and leaving comments.

I walked for 30 minutes today and used weights for my arms. Felt good.

Sat down and stitched on more of Sunny.

Tonight's movie was the mini series of Stephen King's Bag of Bones. I had DVRd it last year. Then I watched Private Practice.

Also read quite a bit more of Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins.

Thanks for reading my blog and leaving comments.

2 more squares finished

I didn't go into work today as I had a doctor's appointment. Did not go the way I expected and not to fond of the doctor I saw.
Anyways I called into work to see if I was needed but was told no. Not much work anyways. I was able to stitch for a few hours and finished up 2 more squares.

I also read quite a few blogs and left comments on a few. Trying to read a few a day. Also getting an exercise routine going again.

I read some more of Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. I want to read a little bit more tonight.

Everyone have a great evening. Thanks for reading and leaving comments.

May's WIPocalypse

I have done very well stitching on HAED SK Sunny and she has been my main focus for the WIPocalypse.
I have 1 more row til page 2 is finished. Then Page 3 is the last page.

I did stitch a little bit on Mirabilia's Halloween Fairy.

Sorry I have been MIA. The past 2 weeks has been on ebay buying a lot of beads for making my jewelry. Plus my main focus has also been SK Sunny. I haven't read blogs or been in my forums. This week I hope to do some catching up. I have to stop buying beads as I bought enough to make jewelry for the rest of the year. I am hoping to do mainly home parties with a couple of cheaper rental craft shows. I also will post some on here and you can buy from me as well.

I am on the 3rd book of The Hunger Games, Mockinjay. I love this series. I am also still listening to Catherine Coulter's FBI series and am listening to Point Blank.

Dylan is still job hunting. He has had a couple of nibbles and they like him and he waits for them to call him back plus he calls them.  Hopefully he will get hired real soon. Right now he is at Walmart because he got transferred from the one he was at in PA.

Well hopefully I will blog more and read yours.

Sunny is moving along

I have been stitching on HAED SK Sunny all week. I finished a row and halfway through another row. Nearing the end of page 2 and then onto page 3, which is the last page. Which also has less confetti stitching.

Since my last post I also finished reading Dark Lover by J.R. Ward. A Vampire book and some erotica in it. I enjoyed it. I also finished the audiobook, Blow Out by Catherine Coulter. I am now reading the 2nd book of the Hunger Games, Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. Hard to put down. I will be starting the audiobook, Point Blank by Catherine Coulter, tomorrow.

Tonight Justin and I went to the movies and saw The Lucky One. Really good. I read the book when it first came out so not sure how accurate the movie was compared to the book. But 1 of my co workers read the book last week and saw the movie over the weekend. She said it didn't follow the book very well.

Well that's it for now. Have a good night and thanks for reading.

Sunny is moving along

I have been stitching on her all week and moving along. Page 2 is almost complete. About 2 more weeks. Page 3 is a full page but most of it has large blocked areas of 1 color and not alot of confetti.
HAED SK Sunny:

Today is a sad day in the entertainment business. Dick Clark has passed away, at the age of 82, from a massive hear attack. You will be missed!

Today I listened to quite a few chapters of Blow Out by Catherine Coulter. It is hard to turn off.

Today I broke down and ordered from Fire Mountain Beads as I want to make a few of these bracelets.

I love bracelets so I want to make a lot of them and sell them plus my scissor fobs. Trying to use up what beads I have so I can get better quality beads.

My cat, Ruby, is doing a lot better. She has an upper respiratory infection but her lungs are clear. Scott and Dylan took her to the vet yesterday. She is on antibiotics. Plus I have had her locked in my bedroom at night, with me, and the vaporizer going. Today she is perky and playful and getting into trouble. She even asked for food and she hasn't eaten much in a few days. Thanks for all the concerns.

Today's movie was The Rite, it was ok and based on a true story.  I also watched Live With Kelly! and General Hospital. Also tonight was Revenge, very good.

Time to go to bed, 6am comes to quickly lol.

Progress pics

Last week I stitched a little bit on HAED SK Sunny.
Yesterday I pulled out Mirabilia's Halloween Fairy.

On Friday, April 13, my son, Dylan, graduated from Universal Technical Institute (UTI). This is in Exton, PA and it is to be an auto technician. We are very proud of him as he almost quit twice.

I have a kitty with a cold right now and she is eating a little bit and drinking water. Her nose is stuffy and she sneezes a lot but less than she has been. I have been playing nurse. I steamed up the bathroom and took her in there and then she slept in my bedroom last night, with the vaporizer going. She has had it since Thursday and is not running a fever. May have DH take her to the vet tomorrow if she doesn't feel any better.

I do have some catching up to do but first for the April WIPocalypse.
Since March's I have finished 2 projects:

Then I finished JCS Halloween Collection Brittercup's Halloween Cat Tree

My 2 other WIPs that I am working on til done is HAED SK Sunny. I have finished a lot of this. Yesterday I even finished another row.
My other WIP is Mirabilia Halloween Fairy.

I had my birthday on April 2. My manager and the other young woman at work ordered pizza out and when I wasn't looking had decorated our breakroom. Made me feel special. Scott bought me a George Michael CD. Justin took me out to see Hunger Games and then went out to dinner at Joe's Crab Shack. Loved both things. I have an awesome family. Wednesday I finished another book. Goody Goody Gunshoes by Sammi Carter. I am reading the last book of the series now called Sucker Punch. I am also listening to Blow Out by Catherine Coulter.
Last night I fixed a ham dinner for my inlaws, which they enjoyed. I also fixed another ham dinner today for my family.
I have been watching movies on TV too:
I am Number Four - Good

Due Date - stupid funny
Fair Game
Beastly

I have been DVRing a bunch of movies for the evenings when my shows aren't on and when they are on hiatus this summer.

Thanks for reading,
HAPPY EASTER!

Won an award

I was given this award from Erla Bjork . Thank you so much. I appreciate it.
I know the rules say a new blogger and someone with less than 200 followers but I have been blogging since 2005? and have over 200 bloggers. So I will search who I blog with.

The Liebster award comes with four conditions that each recipient must satisfy when accepting.
  1. Choose 5 up-and-coming blogs with less than 200 followers to award the Liebster to.
  2. Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
  3. Post the award on your blog.  List the bloggers you are giving the award to with links to their sites.  Leave comments on their blogs so they know about the award.
  4. Share 5 random facts about yourself that people don’t know about you.”
Here are the five people and blogs that I’ve chosen to share this award with, I could have chosen so many more …. Hope you all like your award

Well I now need to tell you 5 things about me….
1. I played the clarinet for 8 years in school
2. I have sarcoidosis
3.I love to dance
4. I have OCD - everything has to be organized, CDs, DVDs, all in alphabetical order. Books alphabetically by author and their book by published date.
5. I am a sims3 addict

Jewelry and scissor fobs.

Last night was bead night at Michaels. So I only made 1 bracelet and 1 necklace. Justin had txt me that it was getting nasty out and he works in the same plaza where Michaels is. So I left a little early.
First I set up the little table and put the bracelet and necklace on it, so I could take a pic but look what happened!

This is Ruby and I adopted her from my son Dylan. She is 2 years old and loves attention.

Now down to business. I made this necklace for Allie(Dylan's GF), sshhh don't tell her. I am hoping to give it to her today. I made the bracelet that goes with it last November for her birthday. But she asked me to make a necklace to go with it. The bracelet I made for my MIL. She likes my bracelets and asked me to make her one for her birthday, which is in April.

Then when I came home I still felt like making things. So I made 3 more bracelets. The pastel pearly one will have a matching necklace. I will do that today. These will be for sale.

Then I made 3 scissor fobs, which I also will be selling.

Cross Stitch kit review

Yiota from Yiota's XStitch had emailed me asking to review one of her cross stitch kits and then posting on my blog. I was honored to do so. The kit came in 2 weeks ago and I was sick the first few days so couldn't do it.  I have a lot to blog today so wanted to let Yiota know that I love the kit. The pattern is in large print so it is very easy to see the symbols for stitching. The floss is already wound on bobbins for easy use. I asked for evenweave. Her kits are in aida and 28 ct evenweave. The instructions are very easy to read even for a beginner. There are just 2 very minor things and no big deal but being honest in my review. 1 is the picture of the design is slightly blurry but not very much. I have problems taking my own pictures lol. The 2nd thing is the fabric wasn't cut evenly on one side so I will just fix that before I begin stitching it. Like I said 2 very minor things. I highly recommend checking out her site and ordering from her. Oh and very fast delivery. Her business is in the UK and I am in western NY. She mailed it on a Monday and I received it that Saturday. That is faster than some services I get from online stores IN the US. Please go check out her site as she has a lot of themes to offer.

Oh and I don't have to stitch this up any time soon. She just wanted me to review the kit. But since it is a cute little snowman then it will fit into my stitching sometime this year :-)

Tuesday's stitches

I am trying to get back into an exercise routine. If I am busy reading things online and I get home later than usual then I walk, march in place and do other exercises while watching General Hospital. If I get out of work early or it's not a busy evening then I will work out with a Wii game or a walking DVD. This works for me and I am sore but it is a good thing.
So tonight while doing my exercising, my cat, Molly decided to keep batting her toy mouse under my feet lol.

I sat down and stitched more on HAED SK Sunny and am enjoying the colors in her.

Today I also got to read more of Eleventh Hour by Catherin Coulter and I am on the last CD of Play Dirty by Sandra Brown. They are both really good.

Tonight I watched:
General Hospital
Live with Kelly - 2 episodes
Rimger

Justin(DS#1) and I plan on going to the movies tomorrow. Trying to decide what we want to see.

Thank you everyone for reading and leaving comments.

weekend update

Friday night DH took me out for prime rib. Then he had to go into work. I ended up watching Grimm while finishing gridding on HAED SK Sunny.
Saturday I went to my LNS because I needed CC Blackbird. I needed more to finish LK Halloween Rules. But as always, she was out of what I needed. She always is. So I ended up ordering what I need for the rest of this years projects, online.
So Saturday I stitched on HAED SK Sunny
I am enjoying working with the bright colors.

Then today I pulled out JCS Halloween Collection, Brittercup Halloween Tree. I started it January 1 as part of the Crazy January Challenge. Not much left to stitch on this.

Maybe I will finish this next Sunday.

Tonight I watched Once Upon A Time and then Desperate Housewives.
I did listen to my audiobook a little bit today: Play Dirty by Sandra Brown.

Today I played the wii and played Just Dance Summer Party. I loved it and what a workout. I am sore all over lol.

Thursday, March 01, 2012

Page 1 finished HAED SK Sunny

Woohoo! 1 page is done, 2 more to go.
Now I am gridding page 2. It looks like there is a lot of confetti stitching on page 2. Do you think I can finish the 2nd page by the end of April? I will certainly try.
I listened to more of my audiobook while stitching tonight, Play Dirty by Sandra Brown. Plus I watched yesterday's and today's episodes of General Hospital. Sad episodes.

wow, MIA

I didn't realize that I hadn't blogged in over a week. Where have I been? Well stitching of course :-) I am not putting in any pics to share as I haven't taken any.
Last week I stitched on Rocky Mountain Christmas and then Sunday I pulled out LK Halloween Rules. I was stitching on Howl At The Moon and ran out of the CC Blackbird. So I am going to the LNS this Saturday. All week I have been stitching on HAED SK Sunny. I am hoping to finish page 1 tonight.
I was bad and broke my rule of not buying anymore charts til I finish everything that I have started. How could I pass up the 50% sale on Leap Day at HAED. I had to buy QS Genevieve. I saw her being stitch on another blog and fell in love with her. I also bought the mini Queen of Hearts. That is my favorite chart and I have the original chart which is about 36 pages. The mini is only 9 pages.

Reading wise I am doing pretty good. I finished Hemlock Bay by Catherin Coulter and started The Eleventh Hour by Catherin Coulter. I love this series. I am also listening to Play Dirty by Sandra Brown and am halfway through that.

I think that is about it for now. I am hoping to post a stitchy progress pic tonight.
