a sad day

Well I sit here brokenhearted and in tears. I will need group hugs later. As some of you know I have an 18 year old cat who was diagnosed with Kidney disease 2 1/2 years ago. We started to give her IVs and put her on a special diet. other than that she was as healthy as a kitten. Well the past couple of months she started losing a little weight and didn't like the IV anymore. Last week she dropped a significant amount of weight and stopped eating on Thursday and most of Friday. DH said she is done and will die in her sleep. Well we tried to give her an IV and she tore into my hand pretty good. i did get some fluids in her and a few hours later she was perky again and eating. She ate Friday night, all day Saturday and Sunday morning then went back into the funk again and it is now Tuesday morning and she still has not eaten since Sunday morning. She can't seem to get comfortable and i think because she is all bones now that she is having a little trouble walking or she is just dizzy from not eating. i took her to bed with me last night and told her I love her and she is such a good girl and she has permission to go to the rainbow bridge. This morning she is still with us and I am making an appointment with the vet today so she can join my other cats and dogs at the rainbow bridge. This is the best thing for her and she has led a great life. We have 4 other cats who are not lap cats and lovey. She is my stitching cat and always loved to be held and carried on my shoulders, except for the past week. I will have a very big void in my life without her.

Mondays Musings

This is my big baby. he is a rottie/shepherd mix and just loves people and other animals. he is 5 years old. I adopted him from a shelter in 2002 and he was 1 1/2 years old. Pretty much potty trained and very well behaved. Next time I will share pics of my cats.

Last week I finished Twisted Oaks model of the last Baltimore Quilt square. I also finished reading Broken Prey by John Sandford.

I then stitched on LK January Block and finished that. Then stitched up April from A year Full of Happy by San Sarah Designs. This was a 24 hour challenge on Becky's Friends Gather board.

Today I will stitch on a sports ornament and then start LK April Stamp. I also have started to read Shepherds Abiding by Jan Karon.

Last week I watched 1 movie:Honeymoon With Mom on Lifetime Movie channel, on Mother's Day. Was a good movie. I just love the Lifetime movies and Hallmark movies.

DS#2 has a baseball game tonight and DS#1 has a Track meet tomorrow night. they are calling for periods of rain all week so I am hoping it doesn't rain during any of their sports events.

SBQ of the week

When you stitch from a kit and use the supplied floss do you have leftovers? If so, how much and what do you do with them? If not, do you usually have just enough or do you have to dig into your stash to finish?

If the kit does not use DMC then I will use my DMC by figuring out which colors to use. I do use the floss in kits for the small Mill Hill kits and other small kits like that. I have never run out and always have some extra left. I do not keep the floss from kits. I have always thrown them out.

SBQ of the week

Do you or have you stitched with over-dyed threads? (Weeks Dye Works,The Gentle Art Sampler Threads, Six Strand Sweets, etc.) If so, what isyour opinion concerning them? If not, why not?

I have been stitching with overdyeds for years now and I just love them. They add a little pizzazz and dimension to the pieces. I have used Weeks Dye Works, gentle Arts Sampler Threads, and a little bit of the others.

Mondays Musings

Spring is here. We have had beautiful weather and the flowers are coming up, buds on the trees. I noticed today that the dandelions are out. I love them even though most people try to kill them out of their yards. It gives a yard color and gives me fond memories of childhood.

Stitching - I have been stitching on a model for SzuLet Creations and is almost done but I ran out of floss so as soon as that comes in I can finish it. I started Lk January Block. All of them will be done on one piece of fabric. I also have the last model, for Twisted Oaks designs, of the Baltimore Quilt Block, on the way. I think I will stitch up a sports ornament today to add to the pile.

Reading- I finished A Murderous Yarn by Monica Ferris and it was really good. I have pulled out Broken Prey by John Sandford, but haven't started it yet.

Movies watched last week:
Falling In love with the Girl Next Door
Double Cross
Hangman's Curse
Mcbride: Fallen Idol
Curring Edge 2: Going For the Gold
Nora Robert's Sanctuary
Safe Harbor
The Wedding date
Our House
Cursed
The Interpreter

DS#1 had a Track invitaional on saturday and it was gorgeous weather for that. he did real well. Tomorrow he has Track Meet at home and DS#2 has his first baseball game, of the season, away game.

Going to go and watch Nascar since it was a rain delay yesterday.
