1. Do you use the loop method? why or why not?
2. Do you railroad your stitches? the top and bottom stitch or just the top?
I have tons and tons of mags but only like a couple of charts but hate to cut up just the ones that I like. Do you cut yours up or just hold onto the whole mag?
I keep wanting to change my rotation. I really want to finish Quilt Sampler, Night Before Christmas , and Christmas Angel. So I am thinking after this RR, and 2 exchanges I need to stitch up, that I will work just on these 3. Plus my regular weekend WIP. How many times do you change your rotation?
so week 1 would be Quilt Sampler, week 2 Night Before Christmas, and week 3 Christmas Angel while week 4 would be a JCS ornament or 2. I joined 3 Christmas Ornament SAL groups but have only stitched one ornament this year. I need to stop the RRs and exchanges so I can get my things finished.
I also read another blog on where has the time gone. She talked about her son's birthday and how they grow up. I can certainly understand that. Last week was both of my boys' birthdays. Justin turned 19 and Dylan turned 17. What happened because I know I didn't age any. I feel the same :-).
Tonight I am just rambling so please forgive me. I did stitch for 3 hours on a RR and am hoping to finish it tomorrow night. I also want to play a little bit with my blog and get it ready for April/Easter.
I also watched:
House
24
Medium
I totally forgot to watch General Hospital that I had DVRd.

4 WIPs
I had a pretty good stitching weekend. I was very tired on Friday so I kept falling asleep. I watched Dollhouse while stitching on Papa Bunny.
Then Saturday I stitched some more on the Quilt Sampler and I watched Wanted. Very good movie.
Today I stitched on both of these. The first one would be done but I don't have the orange beads to finish it. The second one will be done next Sunday and has 2-3 more rows for it to be done. Today I watched Twilight , which was awesome. I also watched Desperate House wives, and oh yeah NASCAR.

too tired this weekend
I am Dreyx and I am posting for my mom. See she had a really hard day at work yesterday and I guess she couldn't handle it. I keep thinking I am way older than her in dog years so what is the problem?
Anyways she came home from work and said she was not going to cook dinner, well you know the father isn't going to cook anything so out came the wallet. Then they took off in that thing called the truck. I don't care what it is called but I am getting really tired of being left behind. Anyways, while I am at home they must have had a feast somewheres because they came home with a bucket full of food that smelled really good. Then I hear it is not for the dog. Well geesh no car ride and no food and they call us loyal? You should have heard the 3 cats meowing like they hadn't eaten in days. You should see one of those cats though. His stomach practically hits the ground when he walks.
Anyways mom filled this plastic tub up with water and set her feet in it , while stitching. Befor I knew it there were bubbles all over the floor. Now if I get water on the floor it isn't a pretty sight. So mom sat there stitching and relaxing while watching some TV show called Dollhouse. But I saw her head nod a couple of times, don't know where the needle was going at that point. I think she put in about 20 stitches and then told dad it was time to go to bed.
She plans on sitting on her butt all day today stitching and watching movies, and they call it a dog's life. I am sure she will post tomorrow all of her stitching accomplishments.

crazy days
yesterday I had the day off, from work. We knew it would be dead and I had to leave for a doctor's appointment so my manager said just take the day off. So I went to my doctors. Came home and spent a little time with Scott before he went to bed(he works the 3rd shift so sleeps during the day)
Dylan came home from school and we decided to clean out the cupboard with all the tupperware in it. Looks so much better. Then onto the pots and pans, lids and baking ware. That looks real good as well. I started working on my for sale trade blog. Then I watched The Secret Life of Bees, while stitching on the RR.
Today was nuts at work. We finally get a good amount of work to do and the power went off 3 times but the 3rd time it was out for an hour. Everything we do is all with electricity so we had to sit and wait it out. We still managed to get everything done in a timely fashion.
Came home and Dylan and I cleaned the bathroom. Straightend up in there. I worked some more on my new blog and then I did some floss organizing. I watched General Hospital and then tonights Lost. Stitched more on the RR. Oh and I also listend for about 30 minutes to The Quickie by james Patterson.

stitching and finishing
Saturday I went grocery shopping with Scott. Came home and stitched a little bit on the Quilt sampler. Scott had the remote so we kind of just fell asleep watching junk.
Today was my finishing day. I had 2 more ornaments but didn't feel like pulling out the sewing machine. I also have a SB Spring to make into a pillow but need to get fabric for it. So I did 2 pinkeeps and a framed piece plus the March piece for the cork board.
This is our cat The Outsider. He kept meowing to go out. he is the only cat that we let out.
This is Rascal and thinks he owns the house. I have another cat but he was hiding. I also have a dog but for some reason as soon as I put the camera up to my face he runs into another room. Silly dog.
Today I stitched on Pumpkin.
I also watched some TV:
DVD- Changeling - really good
DVR: General Hospital , Smallville, and Supernatural
tonight: Desperate Housewives

the weekend is almost here
Still not busy at work. I left at 2 today. I also started listening to The Quickie by James Patterson. It is good already.
I watched general Hospital while winding floss on bobbins. Tonight I listened a little more of The Quickie and then I stitched while watching: Bones, Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice.
Nothing else going on here.

finished 2 books
Work was slow again today so I left at noon. Which was a good thing because Dylan had a doctor's appointment at 1:15 so i could take him. His poison ivy is not contagious because the patches on his skin is dry and not oily. He has a cream to put on it and has other meds that they gave him samples of. Plus 2 inhalers for his asthma. So $10 for the office visit and $60 for meds and I am broke.
While I was in the waiting room I was reading Key Lime Pie Murder by Joanne Fluke and had about 10 pages left to finish it so I did when I got home. Very cute book. It is a series and you should really read them in order.
I also knew that I could finish Sundays at Tiffany's by James Patterson. So I listened to that while stitching on the RR and that is finished. It was a good story and I gave it a 5/5. it is a little sappy and is a love story but I enjoyed it.
Next reads:
book - Keeping Faith by Jodi Picoult
audio- The Quickie by James Patterson

Reading and stitching
well listening to an audiobook and stitching.
First it was not busy at work so I left at noon. I did start Sundays At Tiffany's, while at work.
I came home and got all caught up on BBs and blogs. That felt good. I had so many blogs that I didn't get to leave comments at all of them
I did a couple of loads of laundry. Watched 2 episodes of General Hospital while winding floss on bobbins.
Then out came my mp3 player and am over halfway through Sundays At Tiffany's by James Patterson. It is a quick read and caught my attention from the begining. There are 3 characters that really need to be slapped. I also was stitching on a RR. This one is Sylvia's with the Vermillion snowmen freebies from last year. I will not mention what month I am doing :-)
I want to thank Andrea. The bat charms that you sent me came in the mail and I love the beaded snowflake ornaments. They are so pretty.
Thanks to everyone who has been reading my blog and leaving comments, I appreciate you all.
I still need to have DS#2 draw a name for the giveaway. He has poison ivy so I don't get to close to him right now :-) I love him but I don't want it.

Reading ideas
from Books and Needlepoint. She has questions on her blog and is a cross stitcher. She gets credit for my ideas so here goes.
Musing Mondays:
Todays topic is New Authors. What is your policy when it comes to new authors? Do you feel comfortable purchasing a book or do you prefer to borrow new authors from the library? How often do you try out a new author?
I have no problem trying a new author and have even bought quite a few of their books and have been pleased.

Teaser Tuesdays:
Grab your current read.
Let the book fall open to a random page.
Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
Please avoid spoilers!

This is from Sundays at Tiffany's by James Patterson:
"The Casting agent said, "I floated the role past Ryan Gosling's agent , and she was very positive."
"My mother turned in the doorway, knowing every eye was on her."

playing catch up
I have been meaning to post all weekend but with all the heavy rain we were getting and the fog I either could not get online or kept getting disconnected while posting. So since I have been tossing and turning , in bed for an hour, I thought I would post while I could.
Thursday was a pretty good day at work. Came home and wound some more floss on bobbins, for about an hour. Then I listened to Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer while stitching on The Christmas Angel from one of The Cross Stitcher issues.
I also received my first Silkweaver fabric of the month. It is an 18x26 piece of 28 ct cashel linen called Raging Storm. I didn't take a pic though.
Friday I got a promotion to assistant manager and a raise. I was surprised and thankful for that. Came home and wanted to celebrate but DH had to go into work for OT so he couldn't go. Dylan and his girlfriend went with me and we decided on Mexican food so we went to Margarita's and had good food and fun. Came home and stitched on Waxing Moon's Star & Stripes Forever. I also watched Ghost Whisperer and Dollhouse. Then I finished listening to Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer. I did enjoy this audio and give it a 4 star rating. it would have gotten a 5 star but I think she dragged it out just a little to much.
Saturday Scott and I went to the Rez so he could get cigarettes and we stopped at Denny's for breakfast, mmmmm. I came home and did dishes and then took a nap. For some reason I was tired all day and didn't have the energy to do anything. I blame the crappy weather. Scott had been wanting Pan Pizza from Pizza Hut so I ordered and we took off to pick it up. A 20-25 minute drive away but oh so worth it :-) Then Scott fell asleep on the couch. I sat with his feet on my lap and read about 4 pages of Key Lime Pie Murder and then I fell asleep. 2 hours later I decided that we should just go to bed LOL. I did remember to move our clocks ahead.
Sunday was spent shopping. Justin and I have been wanting a wii and I wanted the wii fit. So Dylan and I took off and went to Best Buy and got it plus an extra controller and nunchuck(?) Then we went grocery shopping. Came home and set up the wii. I didn't even get to fit yet. We were boxing as it came with the sports game. OMG what fun it was and what a workout as we used it intensely, the reason that I got the wii. I was winded and working up a sweat.
Started some laundry and read some emails til the internet went out again. Then I pulled out a Halloween chart. This is Pumpkin by Sweetheart Tree from the JCS October 2008 issue. I do not have a piece of gingham that it called for but I like this color. I also have to buy a package of beads for this and I am not going to get the charm for this as I don't think it needs it.
Tonight I watched most of Extreme Home Makeovers and then Justin and I watched Desperate Housewives.
I have a bookcross meeting tonight at Panera Bread and then will stitch on a RR , when I get home and watch all my shows tonight.
I think I am all caught up on my news and pics. This weeks audiobook is Sundays at Tiffany's by James Patterson. if I finish it I will start The Quickie by James Patterson.

Night Before Christmas
I finished some more of the verse and I stitched the moon and started the cuff of the stocking, but you can't see that because it is white.
While stitching I listened to Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer. I have 6 more chapters to listen to. I am hoping to finish breaking Dawn, tomorrow. I also watched Lost.
During my view of General Hospital I also wound more floss on bobbins. This is the only time during the week that i do this, is while watching my soap.

received an award
I was nominated for this award by Carolyn. Thank you so much, I feel very honored. As I read blogs there are so many that I cherish reading and learning from. Also everyone has been receiving awards so this is to anyone that I read and you haven't received an award, you are now nominated.
2 WIPs and answers to questions
Last night I stitched on Rocky Mountain Christmas , for 3 hours. So many color changes.
I watched General Hospital, 24 , Medium.
Tonight I stitched on Winter Queen and added some more white to it. I didn't get as much done as I wanted to. I listened to Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer.
Work was a little strained today. There is only 3 of us that work there and the supervisor has been out since the last Friday in January. She had surgery and came back yesterday. The owner showed up today and fired her. making the other lady the new supervisor. I was shocked that this happened and felt bad for her. So some new changes will be happening.
ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS:
Maren- Night Before Christmas is by Little Old Me Designs and I am not sure if you can get it as you have to be a member of her BB.
Danni's Thoughts - Quilt Sampler is a Jeremiah Junction from the Cross Country Stitcher June 2008 issue.
Craft-i-leigh - I always used aida til I got online in 1999 and found all the wonderful linens and evenweaves. I like evenweaves the best but I do stitch quite a bit on linen. Mostly 28 count but I do stitch on 32 count as well. evenweaves is monoco , jobelin. Linens I like cashel. Buy a piece and try it. I don't think you will go back to aida.

a WIP and a new finish
Yesterday I stitched a little bit on Quilt Sampler. I know I want this finished as a pillow but I don't know how to do a ruffled edge which I would love for this piece. I believe it will be a Christmas gift for my MIL.
This is Spooky Tree by Elizabeth Designs from the JCS October 2008 issue. I used Weeks Dye Works and Gentle Art Sampler Threads. The only thing that is missing are the 2 bat buttons that are supposed to be in the 2 top corners. I don't have them and didn't have anything in my stash that would work instead. So I will have to buy them
I also watch Horton Hears a Who (yes I still like children movies)
Nascar - congrats to Kyle Bush for the win
