Tonight's ornament

I did it. I finished the last ornament for the year.

Little Old Me Designs
Twas The Night
28 ct Silkweavers Solo
dmc
12/27/09 - 12/28/09

Tomorrow night I would like to finish them into ornaments. I also will stitch on Aurora's garden again.

Today I started a new audiobook. Justice Denied by J.A. Jance. I like it already and is part of a series that I had started a few years ago.

Tonight I watched the last episodes of Private Practice before the holiday hiatus.

We are getting hit with snow, wind and very cold temps. The windchill is supposed to get below zero and the winds will cause whiteout conditions. Scott took me to work today and he said probably again tomorrow and he has heard that we have snow just about all week. Anybody live in a warmer state that has an extra room for me? All I need is my stitching and my ipod and a couple of books. :-)

a finish for the weekend

LOMD Not a Creature was Stirring
28 Ct Silkweavers solo
12/26/09-12/27/09
I started this last night and finished it tonight. Then I started another one which will be done tomorrow night.
I did not give Aurora's Garden to the recipient. Her birthday is the end of January so I have more time to finish it.

I had a really nice Christmas with my family. Got some pretty jewelry from my sister and parents. Justin got me a GPS, I was surprised. Scott got me candles , Katy Perry CD , and stuff from The Body Shop plus he filled my stocking for the first time in years. Dylan also bought me a Katy Perry CD with a DVD of MTV Unplugged.

Today I finished listening to Odd Hours by Dean Koontz. I gave it a 4/5 stars.

Tonight I watched The Velveteen Rabbit which had me in tears. Yes I am a sap for children's movies.

I have been stitching

I didn't stitch at all on Friday or Saturday. But I did last night and tonight. I have almost another column done, woohoo. As you can see I will not be done for Christmas. So I will wrap it as is and then finish it.

We finally got our tree yesterday. So the boys and I decorated it. I also put up some decorations around the house. I wanted to do more today but we were so busy at work that I crashed. I did watch some of my DVDs: How The Grinch Stole Christmas (cartoon), Horton Hears a Who(Cartoon) and A Year Without a Santa Clause. Now I am ready for bed.
Today I also listened to some more of Odd Hours by Dean Koontz.

Started page 2

I have stitched a little bit on page 2. Since Christmas is almost a week away I now know that I can not have this done on time. I will wrap it as it is on that day and then get it back to finish it.

Tonight's Netflix movie was Julie/Julia. I enjoyed the movie very much.

Work has been dead all week and dreading what tomorrow's day will be like. Either another dead day or we will get slammed. My one coworker is going through a tough time right now. Her birthday is Saturday and we usually order out for birthdays but her favorite thing is taco salad so I made that to take in instead and the manager is buying the tortillas and pop. I can't wait lol.

Well as most of you can see I love Heaven and Earth Designs. Mostly Faeries and dragons. I always ask for a fairy calendar for Christmas and for this year I had Linda Ravenscroft's calendar. Well the new ones are out for 2010 and Rachel Anderson has one out so I ordered it :-) It was shipped today and I should have it in 2-3 business days. I wanted to order more things from her website but I have to be good :-( Her Queen Of Hearts is one my favorite patterns and I recieved it from a member of the HAED BB. I am trying to finish Aurora's Garden and I have Fly, Butterfly started and starting in January I will be joining their SAL for a storykeep (bookmark). So I do not want to start another HAED. I have about 12 charts though and some of their freebies are really cute. Aurora's Garden and Fly, Butterfly are freebies.

Well time to read a couple of blogs and then off to bed.

Thanks to those of you who read my ramblings and to those that leave comments. You are all the best.

Tuesday, December 15, 2009

Woohoo!!

Page 1 is finished! I have been busting my butt on this piece but I don't think I will make the Christmas deadline. I still have page 2 to finish and then 2 or 3 more pages that just have a little bit of stitching.
Friday:
I watched 2 hours of Dollhouse. This Friday is the last 2 hours, since it was cancelled.

Saturday:
Went Christmas shopping with Scott at Walden Galleria Mall by Buffalo. Love that mall. I finished Justin's shopping. Then I stitched some more on this.

Sunday:
Took Justin to Bed, Bath and Beyond to buy 2 pillows. Scott and I needed new ones badly so they were Christmas gifts to us. Then we went to Target, since it was in the same plaza. Now I have never liked Target and always walk out of the doors empty handed. Well I got all of Dylan's shopping done and half of Scott's, ran out of money.
Came home and watched movies while stitching.
Watched:
A Carol Christmas - Tori Spelling version
Holiday In Handcuffs- saw it last season
Santa Baby
Santa Baby 2

Monday:
I listened to Odd Hours by Dean Koontz, at work.
Had my bookcross meeting at Wok For You and had sushi, mmm. No stitching or TV.

Today:
Started with wet snow in the morning and by 2pm it was just plain snow. The roads were wet but no snow was sticking. I left at 4 and everything but the roads were covered. Dylan was in town picking up a movie for family night and he said it was nasty out. We had junk food(jalapeno poppers, pizza rolls and buffalo wing nuggets)
Movie: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
Stitched for a couple of hours.
Scott left here around 9pm for work. I talked to him when he got to work and it is snowing so hard that he couldn't see and was only going 20 mph. Said if it is like that in the morning then he will take me to work. Love that man.

crappy weather

It started snowing when I got up and we had high winds all last night through tomorrow morning. Anyways the school were closed because they were calling for whiteouts throughout the day. The morning cleared up and no matter what i had told my 19 year old he figured the weather was done and the whiteouts started around 11 am. Is he home, oh no he is not and had to drive not knowing where he was. Scott had taken me to work because I knew what it would be like later. He ended up picking me up at 12:30. We werent busy at work so my manager said I could leave before it got worse out. I don't know if it could have been any worse except for maybe driving at night. We had 3" within 1 1/2 hours. The vehicle in front of us hit a car that was pulling off a side road and didn't see us on the main road. No one was hurt and not much damage that i know of, because were only going 35mph.
Scott works nights at his full time job. Got up and went outside to warm up his truck and ended up calling in to work. No way was he going in. Still whiteouts and we have a foot of snow and it is still coming down.
Dylan (DS#2, 17 year old) was at work in town. His girlfriend lives a block from where he works so he crashed there for the night, So we are all safe and warm for the night but I wouldn't be surprised if power goes out and I do not believe there will school again tomorrow. We are supposed to get a few more inches of snow over night.
I did stitch about 2 hours on HAED Aurora's garden but I am not taking pics tonight. I will be taking them tomorrow though.

TV watched:
couple of General Hospital episodes
Bone

FYI As The World Turns is being cancelled. The last episode will be September of next year. I used to watch that show every day but haven't watched it in about 10 years. Sorry to see another soap going.

Wednesday update

I have been stitching a little on HAED Aurora's Garden. For some reason on have been playing Sim City Societies and losing track of time. But tonight I stitched and watched 5 1/2 episodes of General Hospital.

Also today I started listening to Odd Hours by Dean Koontz. I am on the second CD.

Last night was family night. One night during the week the boys and I watch a movie and eat some kind of junk food. Last night was Night At The Museum 2. it was ok. I loved the first one.

Please keep us in your prayers as we have a winter storm heading our way. Morning won't be to bad with only about 2" of snow but we are supposed to get 4"-6" more during the day with high winds and gusts of 60 mph which they are saying will cause whiteouts. So I already know that DH is taking me to work. I better take some stitching to do though in case the electric goes out.

Still plugging away

I finished the column I was working on and stitched some more on the next column. My goal is to finish this for Christmas.
I also washed the linens on my bed and went grocery shopping. The bed smells good and we have food for the week :-)

TV watched:
Smallville 11/20
The Forgotten 12/1

I have a lot of PC games and I haven't touched them in months, Mostly due to the fact that I need more memorie. So I used Justin's gaming PC today and played Sim City Societies. Justin bought this for me last year and freezes on my computer so I played it on his. Seems to be fun. I have set aside the weekends for my games and will change what I am playing on every weekend. Anyone else like PC games?

Well time to go play Fairyland on Facebook and then to bed.

Night all!

Aurora's Garden

I almost finished another column. I will try to get another column done today.

TV watched:
Vampire Diaries 11/19
Supernatural 11/19

Movie:
The Kite Runner - awesome and I hate having to read the lines because of another language.

I played Sims2 but not for long. My computer needs more memory.

Bones was on last night and TVguide.com said that Private Practice would be on for 2 hours, but oh no a football game was on. What the hell?

We are supposed to get some snow tonight and Buffalo is getting nailed today.

Tonight I will be watching Dollhouse as it is on for 2 hours and then next Friday is the last episode, yep another show cancelled.

A finish and a WIP

DMC, Kreinik, MH beads
11/30/08 - 11/30/09
Yeah it is done!! I can't believe it. The words were the easy part, believe it or not. I had fun stitching this and it was a freebie to members of the Needleworkers Haven BB.
HAED Aurora's Garden
25 ct white evenweave
DMC
Then last night I pulled out HAED freebie Aurora's Garden. I really want this done as a Christmas gift but I don't think it will be possible. Maybe if I didn't work or clean or eat. I will try to post a progress every night.

Is everyone ready for Christmas? I have half of Justin's gifts bought. I gave money to my sister to pick up our parent's gift. I stitched the quilt sampler for my MIL but still have not had it sewn into a pillow and realize it is to late to have it sent out to a finisher.

The Night Before Christmas will be sewn on top of fleece and then have the fleece made into a blanket. This will be a Christmas gift but I can't say for who yet. Not sure if that person reads my blog. Although I don't believe so

lots of stitching

Wednesday:
I pulled out Night Before Christmas and stitched some more on it. I also listened to Shadow Man by Cody McFayden. I really like this audiobook.
Thursday:
I pulled out TW The Storyteller as it was UFO night. I did quite a bit more on the border. I also watched Bones, Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice.

Friday:
I didn't stitch at all on Friday. My sister invited me to her house for a sleepover. Just her and I. We had wine, sushi and watched movies. We watched Up ,which was cute. Then we watched The Women , which we enjoyed.

SATURDAY:
I stitched on my name tree by M Designs. DH and DS#2 were out hunting so it was a day of stitching and movies. I watched: WALL-E and The Dark Knight. Both of which I enjoyed.

Thursday, November 19, 2009

Stitched a little

Tonight was UFO night and I put in some stitches of TW The Storyteller. I am to tired to take pics and upload so that will have to wait.

Tomorrow night I plan on going to my sister's new place. She invited me to spend the night and have a night of drinking wine, eating sushi and watching movies. I do plan on taking my stitching but she told me lots of luck with her 2 little kittens LOL.

Wednesday, November 18, 2009

sleepy tonight

last night I didn't post a progress pic because I was watching Eagle Eye and it is so full of adventure that I didn't hardly stitch.
Then tonight I sat down with my stitching again and my ipod. I was listening to Shadow Man by Cody McFayden (awesome book) and stitching on The Night Before Christmas but I kept nodding off. I don't want to miss anything on this audiobook. So all I managed to get done in 2 days is 2 little cherries and the top part of santa. So I may post a progress pic tomorrow. I am just to tired tonight and it is only 9 pm. Pretty sad for me.
Tomorrow I will be pulling out TW The Storyteller.

Good night all,
Shelleen

Tuesday, November 17, 2009

Mondays progress

I worked some more on Night Before Christmas. I am hoping to finish another page tonight.

Had a fight with DS#2, who is 17. He doesn't like living by our rules so he packed and left last night. He has spoken to me since and will be back today. Teenagers are so much fun lol.

name tree and Halloween Fairy

Yesterday was Saturdays SAT with the Stitching Sisters yahoo group and Only One ewe Yuku board. So I pulled out M Designs Name Tree (Shelleen) and got 1/4 of it finished. it is also a stitched incentive piece with the Only One ewe board. This pattern was given to me in 2005. It was in my registration package for the Pals Fall Fling.
Today I went to a stitch in at my friend Jill's house. I hadn't seen her in 2 years but her sister, Karen and I get together once in a while to stitch. So Karen met us there as well. I stitched on Nora Corbett's Halloween fairy. This should be finished this month.

Tonight I watched Desperate Housewives. Anyone else watch this?

Starting next Saturday is deer season with a gun and DH and DS#2 will be gone all day Saturday and Sunday so I have a lot of time to stitch. So my home is open next Saturday for any stitchers and it is pajama day so you can come in your pjs and stitch all day long or join me online.

Saturday, November 14, 2009

Night Before Christmas

I was able to put together 4 ornaments. They are for exchanges and I still need to buy goodies to go with them. Since I have to go to the city Saturday morning then I will get the goodies and be able to mail on Monday. So now I can concentrate on my WIPs, which are now UFOs.

Tonight I pulled out The Night Before Christmas by Little Old Me Designs. I only have a couple of more pages to stitch of this. I am hoping to finish it this year. Now that I am back into a routine I am sure it can happen.

I watched all 3 episodes of this week's General Hospital and it was good.

Tomorrow will be UFO night for me. Since I watch TV from 8pm-11pm I thought that 3 hours would be great. I will be stitching on TW The Storyteller.

I have NOT forgotten about my blogiversary Giveaway. With being sick I had put it on the backburner. I will be writing the names down tonight and having one of the boys draw a name.

Tuesday, November 10, 2009

Busy Stitching

I finished one RR and have the backstitching left on the last RR. Then I will be putting together Christmas ornaments for exchanges. I am sooo excited that the RRs are done and exchanges for a couple of months. Now back into my rotation and showing pics again, woohoo!!!

I am also feeling so much better. I cough once in a while but no more coughing fits. Life is good :-)

Sunday, November 08, 2009

Feeling Better and stitching away

I had the flu last week and missed 2 days of work. My manager even had it so we shut the lab down on Monday. I just have to get rid of this stupid cough.
Yesterday and today i stitched on 2 Rrs. One is done and almost done with the other one. I watched a lot of my DVrd TV shows and today was movie day.
I watched:
Watchmen - didn't like it
Duplicity - it was ok
X-Men Origins: Wolverine - liked it

Nothing else new here. Just slept a lot last week and went to bed around 9 every night. Getting back into my routine. Caught up with laundry.

Too many Christmas commercials on TV. I love Christmas but by the time Thanksgiving is here I end up being sick of Christmas. I turn into a scrooge by the time December 1 gets here and then don't even feel like decorating the house. I understand needing it in the Craft stores but we don't need it now in other stores. Does anyone else feel like this?

I am back

from Myrtle Beach. I had a great time and was sick for most of it. I am catching up on housework so please bear with me for a few days and I will post some pics. Tonight I was doing laundry and organizing my stash. I watched The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown and October 13ths General Hospital episode. I have a lot of shows on the DVR to catch up on so limiting my computer time for a week.

Leaving for Myrtle Beach

I am going to the Cross Stitch Pals Fall Fling and leave after work tomorrow night. I meet up with a friend and I ride with a friend to Ohio, where we pick up 2 more friends. Then we head to Amy's of Down Sunshine Lane and who runs the Fall Fling. Then we will be in MB on Tuesday. I am taking Justin's laptop so I will post whenever I get a chance to. I will miss all of you and will try to read blogs once in a while. I will be getting a lot of stitching done :-)

stitching an exchange piece

Love Halloween :-)

Work wasn't busy so we caught up on a few things. Came home and got caught up on emails, blogs, BBs and Facebook. Fixed Taco salad for dinner.

Then sat and watched Monsters VS Aliens. It was cute. I also watched The Forgotten on ABC. I like this show a lot. I stitched quite a bit on an exchange piece and will finish it tomorrow but first have to put some finishes together so i can mail 1 and take the rest with me to Myrtle Beach, yes Carolyn I am going :-)

changed my background and fonts

Halloween/Autumn is my favorite time of year and forgot about changing my background. So now that is all done and I am happy :-)
Plan on stitching and watching TV all evening. Caught up on blogs and BBs. Some I posted comments and some I didn't.

decorated for Halloween

You would never know that this is my favorite time of year. I pulled out the decorations last week and finally got around to putting up Halloween/Autumn/Thanksgiving decorations. Looks nice :-)

I stitched on HIH Autumn Bird. I am working with the threads that I do have and will try to pick some up next week.

Then I have 4 Christmas ornaments to stitch up. I am hoping to have them all done in Myrtle Beach. I have a RR to finish but I will wait til I get back home. I am going to take The Night Before Christmas by little Old Me Designs and am hoping to get most of that finished as well.

Justin is letting me take his laptop so I can try to post here while at the retreat and on the way there. Mine bit the dust and it is old.

I also finished watching last week's General Hospital's episodes. Hoping to watch them on the laptop while on vacation. Otherwise they will be DVRd and will watch when I get home. I also have other shows to watch online since Thursdays and Fridays I watch 2 shows while DVRing 2 shows and can't do that while I am gone and I don't have a VCR anymore. Oh well. I love my nighttime TV viewing while I stitch.

Been playing on Facebook and have a rotation going on the games. My favorite right now is Fairyland. I do go on that every 3 hours to get my gold. Anyone else hooked on that.

I did not forget about the giveaway. No one has been home to draw a name for me. So that will be done tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for reading and leaving comments.

Giveaway

I forgot to mention my Blog Anniversary Giveaway. Anyone who posts here will get a chance at a drawing. It is a surprise so no pic. It will be a scissor fob and fabric. That is all you get for a clue :-)
The drawing will be October 10th.

Also there is an October Giveaway on Dip Diddly Designs every week this month. Go check it out.

Another giveaway is at Random Stitching Ramblings so go check it out.

So So Saturday

It has gotten to the point of where I don't like LNSs. The one I always goes to always seems to be out of whatever WDWs or GASTs or even Mill Hill Beads that I need. So I went to a different LNS this time and what happens? The same thing. I give up driving out of my way. All I needed was 1 WDW and 1 GAST and 2 buttons. I was working on the stitched exchange piece, for the Pals Fall Fling. Now I have to come up with something else.

Then Scott and I get home and trying to decide on dinner. He wants pizza and wings and I just don't have the extra money this week for that. I need to go grocery shopping so had nothing in the house. it is now 9pm and I am way past the hungry stage and now am into the bitchy stage lol.

Guess it is a moody day for me. I have 3 more exchange ornaments to stitch and an RR. But I am stitching on WIPs while in Myrtle Beach. Hopefully that will help this mood :-)

I guess I am just rambling and have probably already lost all of you. If not then thanks for reading. Guess I am just bored.

Wednesday, October 07, 2009

Ouch!

it was a rainy, windy and cold day here. There is a bench that sits outside the door at work. Guess what I did? smacked my knee right into the corner. My knee has pretty colors.

I stitched for a while tonight while I watched the DVRd shows from Monday: General Hospital, House, and Durham County. Right now I have on Eastwick.

Still stitching on exchanges.

Sunday, October 04, 2009

a new start

well today was a slow day at work. Not much to do.

I washed a load of laundry, made ham and scalloped potatoes for dinner. Flea dipped the 4 cats and the dog. One of the cats spits and hisses through the whole thing and the mean cat just sits in the tub and looks at us like ok, if you must, get it done and over with. The dog just walked in the tub to get it over with.

I started a Halloween ornament for the Pals Fall Fling. I did find one from the JCS Halloween issue. There is a retreat in march, in Syracuse,NY that I want to go to. It is about 3 hours from me. Sounds like a lot of fun.

I listened to a little bit of Kiss Me While I sleep by Linda Howard. Then I watched yesterday's episode of General Hospital. Tonight is the show Eastwick. I loved it last week.

Tuesday, September 29, 2009

Cold, Rainy and windy

it has been like this for 2 days and supposed to continue through Thursday. Great stitching weather :-)

Books:
I listened to Kiss Me While I Sleep by Linda Howard and really like it.

TV:
I watched yesterday's episode of General Hospital. Tonight I will watch The Forgotten. I watched the premiere last week and I think this show will be a keeper.

Stitching:
I finished the Halloween exchange and will finish it either into a pinkeep or cube. I started an incentive piece that I am stitching with the Only One Ewe BB. I have to finish it by February 13. Anyways I chose M Designs Shelleen Tree ornament. It was made for me by Mary a couple of years ago. Everyone that went to the Pals Fall Fling got one with their name, in their registration packet. I am doing it on an overdyed purple/blue fabric with a purple silk overdyed thread. I only have a very small area done so pic tonight. I will stitch some more on it tonight and then it will get put away as I need to finish the rest of my exchange pieces.

Monday, September 28, 2009

Watched the season premier of Desperate Housewives. It was really good.
I am making more time with my stitching and blogs and BBs. I gave up 2 games on Facebook and am learning how to redo my time.
Well back to work tomorrow.

Thank you all for reading and commenting :-)

Saturday, September 26, 2009

Thanks for the comments from last nights post. After pulling out my list of everything I need to stitch in the next couple of weeks I felt better.

Tomorrow I want to finish listening to Devil Bones by Kathy Reichs and I have 3 Netflix movies sitting here so I want to watch as many of those that I can.

In a funk

I have been playing games in Facebook for quite a while now and it cut into my stitching time. So I was getting a schedule going. yes I am a list and schedule person. Anyways I have been unhappy with 2 games for 2 weeks now so I deleted them. Whew what relief. The other ones are pretty easy to manage and don't take up a lot of time daily.

Now onto stitching talk. Is it just me? I do not care for the JCS Halloween issue. I thought it was going to be all Halloween like the JCS Christmas ornament issue is just what it says. I have not found one Halloween design that I want to stitch. I also really went through the Ornament issue and just not into it this year. I don't know if it is the new layout. I love change and have no problem with it but the other issues were so much easier to find what you wanted to stitch. Plus I have picked out a few that I would like to stitch and it calls for buttons, charms or other embellishments. I just don't keep them in the house. I have 2 LNS that I shop at and they are both 45 minutes away from me and in opposite directions. Maybe it is because for 2 months all I have done is exchanges, RRs and a special project. Don't get me wrong , I love doing them but all my WIPs have turned into more UFOs. I have 7 more exchanges to stitch up ASAP. I really want to get back into my rotation and have finishes. ok enough bitching about that. Maybe it is just me but I have felt like this for 2 weeks now.

TV shows: last night I watched Bones and Grey's Anatomy. Bones was good and I loved Grey's. Cried at the beginning. So sad. I DVRd Vampire Diaries and Supernatural. Tonight I watched the season premiers of Smallville and Dollhouse. They were good. I DVrd Ghost Whisperer and Medium. I also have this week's wed. , Thurs and Fri General Hospital episodes to watch. Wait I believe I watched Wednesdays earlier tonight.

Scott had to work tonight and both boys are gone til late.
I have my car back, yeah! My alternator bit the dust so I had a new one put in. $200 just for the part. I don't know yet what the labor is.

Any weekend plans? it is supposed to rain tomorrow and Scott and I wanted to go the Fish and Hunting Days at the DEC. I guess it will depend on the weather since it is outside. Other than that I am hoping to stitch all weekend and get as much of the exchanges done as possible. I also need to watch the DVR shows from this week. I am looking forwards to Sunday night and Desperate Housewives.

Thank you all for reading my posts and the comments that you leave. I truly appreciate it.

new shows

Last night I watched the new show The Forgotten and I will be watching that all season.

We were very busy at work and was on my feet from 8am til almost 1pm. My feet were tired lol. The library had called to tell me that an audiobook came in. They called me Monday as well but I knew this one was coming in as well so I headed there after work. On the way my car decided to give me a hard time. So I pulled over and called Dylan. he was going to follow me home. After some debating I had him wake Scott up, he works 3rd shift. When Scott got to me my car would just click, no starting up. So we are thinking I now need a new alternator. I just bought a new battery and it was dead. So Scott took my battery and had it charged so we could at least get it to the shop. I followed in his truck. So now Scott will have to take me to work tomorrow and Justin will pick me up when I get out of work. What a pain in the arse.

Tonight I watched another new show called Eastwick, on ABC. Oh it is soo good. Can't wait for next week. Is anyone going to watch the 2 hour season premier of Grey's Anatomy? I know I will be watching it.

I also stitched on the special project tonight so still no pics.

Tempting Tuesday

well I am tired of stitching on RRs and really want to pull out my WIPs which are now UFOs. I am finishing this special project and then doing some exchange pieces and will finish up the last RR. The RRs are done til next year.
Tonight I watched a Netflix movie. The Land That Time Forgot. I gave it a 3/5 stars.
I also listened to Devil Bones by Kathy Reichs and am on CD 3 of 8.

Nothing else thrilling here. Going to watch the new show The Forgotten at 10 pm on ABC.

weekend happenings & senior pics

Dylan & I
Dylan and Shelbi
This will be his yearbook pic

Friday was busy at work and I ended up taking a nap when I got home.

Saturday Scott and I went and picked up the CD , of Dylan's senior pics. My BIL took them and they came out great, as you can see. Then Scott and I went to a sub shop we love and then visited with his parents. Came home and stitched some more on the special project.

Today Justin and I went out for break fast and then went grocery shopping. Came home and played on Facebook and then stitched.
I also watched quite a bit of TV. 3 episodes of General Hospital, and Durham County that is on the ION channel. I had DVRd it Monday night.

Thriller Thursday

we were busy at work today.
Been playing on Facebook and then I stitched for a couple of hours. I watched Vampire Diaries and Supernatural, which were both good. I also cleaned during commercials.

Molly, my newest cat has decided to lay on my computer desk and on my mouse so she can get attention. This has been going on for a few days now. She is just so darn cute :-)

I stitched on my special project tonight so no pics.

My thoughts and prayers have been with my friend Gisele. Her husband passed away yesterday. She was one of my first friends online, 10 years ago. Her and her daughters have my sympathies.

I listened to quite a bit of Bones To Ashes by Kathy Reichs, today. Keep coming up with twists in the storyline.

My BIL called and Dylan's senior pics are done. I am going to visit with him on Saturday morning and get them on CD and then I can share with you. He said he even got the blemishes out of his face. He had a couple.

Well I have a few more things to do online before I go to bed.

Ho Hum Tuesday

Was dead at work today. So nothing thrilling there.
yesterday, when I got out of work, we did Dylan's senior pics. I picked up Shelbi and then my BIL. My BIL takes great pics and so we went to Letchworth State Park and he took about 150 pics. He is going to put them on his computer and play around with them before giving me a CD. Then I will go and get them developed. he took some of Dylan with Shelbi, some of Dylan and I and some of the 3 of us. Can't wait to see them.

I am stitching on another special project. It goes with the other one.

I received my package from Down Sunshine Lane. it is JCS Halloween and Christmas ornament issues. I didn't look at the ornament issue yet but did look through the Halloween issue. I thought it was going to be like the Christmas ornament issues and just be Halloween/Autumn but it isn't. Also not one thing grabbed my eye. Maybe it is just me and I will go through it again. I haven't had a chance to go through the Christmas ornament issue.

I forgot to tell you the movie I watched on Sunday. It was a Netflix movie called Obsessed. OMG was it really good.

Tonight I watched yesterday's and today's episodes of General Hospital. Pretty good.

Not much else going on.

Simply Sunday

Another weekend nearing. Friday night DH had to go into work and I ended up asleep by 9pm since it was a very tiring day, at work.
Saturday I had a Rochester Bookcrossing Meeting, for lunch. We tried a new place and had great food and atmosphere. There was 6 of us there. I also made it to the PO with all the packages that I have had.
When I got home I took Dylan to get work pants and steel toed boots for auto tech, in BOCES. Scott didn't feel good all day and was grumpy. So not a fun night.
Today I went grocery shopping and my house has been trashed for a few weeks. So Dylan, Shelbi and I cleaned and straightened up the living room, which looks amazing. Then we had a shelving unit I bought to put on top of the one desk. Well Justin is using the desk now and I was going to throw the shelving unit out but I have been wanting a letter shelf for the mail with compartments and this was perfect so Dylan hung it up. So no more throwing mail on the kitchen table and letting it get out of control. We each have our own compartment and we can check it every day or the end of the week. I tried doing as much laundry as I could today. Justin did dishes and cleaned the bathroom. We really like the living room now. I did vacuum all the rooms and straightened up the family room and my computer desk. I have a candle burning and tarts.
I also finished a RR today and tomorrow I will start another special project.
Did anyone watch the True Blood season finale? it was really good. I also watched the premier of Scooby Doo Mystery The Beginning, on Cartoon Network. Was really cute. The actor playing Shaggy did a great job with the voice. it will be on again so you should catch it.

A dear friend of mine, Gisele, can use all the prayers she can get. Her DH is not doing well and is on morphine now and it is only a matter of time. She has been a great online friend for 10 years and does not feel like we never met in person. She was one of my first friends I met online and we have always been there for each other.

Well my bed is calling my name. it is busy season at work and a new girl starts tomorrow.

Thursday Thrillers

on TV that is. The CW had their new show on tonight called Vampire Diaries. It is similar to the Twilight books. Justin and I liked it. Then the new season of Supernatural was on. Love that show.
I also watched today's episode of General Hospital but I still want to know who the beloved character is that dies. Unless it is another ruse like it has been for 3 years always saying that either Jason, Sonny or Jax will die and then nothing happens.

Well today was crazy at work. the new girl is definately gone but we have a new girl starting on Monday, we hope. We wanted to hire her before but she got hurt on her last job, not her fault. So she had to turn us down. Now she is better and would love to work with us. After today we can use all the help we can get.

I listened to Bones To ashes by Kathy Reichs til my ipod's battery died. I started disc 6.

Tonight I stitched on a RR and it was stitching up pretty quickly. Hoping to finish it tomorrow night , if not then Saturday.

Karen, check out www.tvguide.com to see the new fall schedule. Some great new shows this season.

Siobhan, keep watching GH on your computer, it is so good and I am sorry that you can't watch it on TV. Also there are several online sites that let you watch all TV shows online. You might have to wait a couple of days from the original air date but you can watch them

Again, thanks all my friends for reading my blog and the comments.

Guess What?

It is my blogiversary! I have been blogging since September 2005. Where has the time gone? I am going to put together a giveaway so give me a few days to figure out what to put in it and then I will post about it.

another RR finished

one more to go :-) Next round starts next year. I think mine will be Mirabilia's mermaids faces and if I don't have enough patterns then throw in some other faces. I have seen some others done and they are gorgeous.

The new girl at work, started the week before I went back to work. She is kind of odd and has a rough life. Last week she called in sick, wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. This week she just hasn't shown up or called. her mother called at noon yesterday to speak with her. She lives with her mom so we know she isn't hurt. If she doesn't show up tomorrow then she voluntarily has quit which we think has happened. Now we have to train a new person and this doesn't look good for my vacation time in October. My manager can not do the job all by herself for 6 working days. Pray that something good will happen. We really need a 3rd person at the lab. We do everything there including all secreterial duties.

I watched todays episode of General Hospital, talk about tears in the eyes. The one witch died but who is the beloved character that they are saying will die? Could be several of them.

Tomorrow is the new Vampire Diaries, on the CW. Supposed to be close to the Twilight books. Then is Supernatural. Woohoo!!

Dylan's first day as a senior went well. For English he has to read Bleachers by John Grisham, Five People You Meet In Heaven by Mitch Albom(sp?). Plus 1 other book I never heard of. Possibly another 2 books this school year. He has already read Five People You Meet in Heaven so he will have to reread it. I read Bleachers and told him he will enjoy it. he also goes to BOCES for Auto Tech and is excited about that.

I had a dentist appointment today , for cleaning. Got a clean bill of teeth health woohoo!! My dentist who started the practice retired in June. I have been seeing him since I was a teenager and he graduated with my parents. I saw his dental partner today and the new woman that took his place was not there. She is in her mid twenties.

well time for me to get some sleep. have a great night everyone and thanks for the comments. They mean a lot to me. Maybe soon I can start posting stitchy pics. Not for awhile though :-(

Fall Season is starting

all my TV shows will be back and I will be watching a couple of new ones. My weekend was really busy, how about yours?
Friday night Scott and I went to visit his parents and his family was having a cookout.
Saturday morning Dylan called, on his way to work. He had hit a deer and it freaked him out. The damage is minimal and him and Shelbi(girlfriend) are ok. Then Scott and I headed to a Hot Air Balloon festival. We were paying at the gates when the person behind us hit us. Not paying any attention to the stopped traffic. No damage to our truck. But we did not see the balloons :-( . We got there at 1, I have no idea why, and the balloons were going up at 6. Well by 4:30 we were both walking zombies and couldn't walk anymore and were really tired. i had even taken my camera but alas no pics. Next year we are not going so early.
Sunday was my family picnic. Lot os drinking and eating, laughter and a great time.
Monday, both boys worked, so when they got out we went school shopping. Made it to Yankee Canlde 10 minutes before closing time. They had tarts and votives on sale for $1 each so Dylan bought me 10 tarts. All Autumn scents.
I didn't get in any stitching over the weekend but I did yesterday and tonight. Working on a RR, which will be done tomorrow and then I have another RR here. I can't wait to get back to my WIPs and UFOs, or should I say they are all UFOs now since I haven't stitched on the WIps for about 2 months now.

I watched a new show last night on the ION channel. it is called Durham County and it seems interesting. I also watched Fridays and today's General Hospital and wow can't wait for tomorrow.

That is all for tonight. Thank you for reading and for leaving comments.

Thrilling Thursday

That is the title that came to mind but nothing about today was thrilling. Work was dead again and I left an hour early.
Played games on Facebook and then finished my special project. I can not share anything about it for now. Sometime in the future I can.
Next up is 2 RRs and I believe 3 exchanges.

I watched yesterdays and todays episodes of General Hospital. For any of you that follow this I can not wait til the Carnival and to see what happens. there is about 3 different things that I can come up with.

No reading or listening to audio books today nor a movie.

Thank you for those that read my blog and for the comments that I have received.
You are all the best :-)

Wacky Wednesday

Well it wasn't really wacky today but I like the name. Work was slow today but I kept busy.
Scott and I meet every morning at our local coffee shop. He works night and I work days so we meet when he leaves work and I am on my way to work. Anyways they hired a girl, for Wednesday mornings that none of us regulars like. So on Wednesdays Scott and I head to Tops supermarket because they have Tim Horton's coffee in there. I get a tea and a slice of their homemade breakfast pizza and Scott gets his coffee and either the pizza or a donut. But starting next wednesday the new girl will be gone from the local coffee shop, as she works at a school. I am hoping Scott and I can continue the Wednesday change. There are also some changes going on at the coffee shop that no one is happy with but a new bakery is going in and they will have it set up for all of us. That will take some time though.

Still no stitching pics as I am still working on the special project, which I had hoped would be done tonight. I just have 1 row left and then a little backstitching. Then the 2 RRs are next.

I watched a movie tonight from Netflix, which I didn't care for. it was The Informers. it has Kim Bassinger, Billy Bob Thorton and Mickey Rourke.

Thanks to everyone who reads my blog and those that have been leaving comments. I appreciate it a lot.

Good evening

Still stitching on a special project but it will be done tomorrow. Then onto 2 RRs. I also have a pile of mail to go out this week. I did mail out my registration for the PALS Fall Fling. I also ordered the JVS 2009 ornament issue and the Halloween issue, from Down Sunshine Lane. Can't wait to start on those.

I have been watching General Hospital , which is getting good. Got boring for a little bit. Can't wait to see next Tuesdays episode, previews look spooky.

I watched True Blood Sunday night and the season finale is in 2 Sundays. Now that September is here all the new shows and returning shows will be on. I can't wait. I will have to post a list of what i will be watching and DVRing.

I am going to have to learn to slow down on the Facebook games. seems like it takes 2-3 hours to play them every day and am not reading blogs or BBs. My stitching has also slowed down.

I will be posting my September goals this week as well.

Happy Thursday!

Yeah, it is almost Friday :-)
Had an ok day at work. I listened to Bones To Ashes by Kathy Reichs. Pretty good so far. My manager has tomorrow off, so she can move her daughter into college. She worked with us this summer and I enjoyed working with her and will miss her.

Dylan txt me at work that he wanted me to have dinner with him at his work, the gas station. I asked what he wanted and he said Chinese. Now first of all my 17 year old son has never asked me to eat with him. On top of that he doesn't order chinese. So I txt him back asking if this was really my son lol. So I ordered chinese and I ate with him , which was nice. Talked a little bit.

Came home to read all my Ezboard forums and play Facebook games. Then started laundry, stitched some more on the special project. I watched a great movie. I got it from Netflix and it said it was a Lifetime movie. it was Nora Robert's Tribute and it was really good! Then I watched Tuesdays General Hospital.

Scott informed me that he has to work tomorrow night. he works 3rd shift and they are busy so I will stitch and watch another Netflix movie. I think it is Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas. This is based on James Patterson's book and I loved the book.

Does anyone have plans for this weekend? I don't have any except to finish this project I am working on.

Wednesday, August 26, 2009

hi everyone

geesh, where has time gone? I sure do miss all of you. I am all caught up on reading blogs. I left comments on a few.
Right now I am stitching on a special project and can't say what it is. I also have 2 RRs sitting here. I really want to get back to my WIPs but I must be patient.
I owe Jill a MAW piece and I stitched that a while ago. Well last night I finished it but can't say how. it is going in the mail tomorrow or Friday.
Thanks to BeckySC for inviting me to a new blog of small finishes SAL.

I don't see much of Dylan since he has his own car. School starts in 2 weeks and he will be a senior. Justin will be a sophmore at college and he starts classes on Monday.

I am listening to the audiobook Bones To Ashes by Kathy Reichs. Only on chapter 4.

Work has been slow but the fresh corn silages will come in about 2 weeks and we will be swamped with work.

I owe pics on some ornaments I received in exchanges. I will get them posted soon as well.

Please forgive my absence and I will get my groove back soon.

sorry I have been MIA

I went back to work on July 27th and they had me do easy work for the week but I would come home so drained that no stitching or reading or even movies got watched. Then August 2 I started feeling crappy and got worse. They let me still take it easy at work. By Friday I could not hold out anymore and had to go to the doctors. I have Acute asthmatic Bronchitis. I wasn't getting sleep because of the coughing. So I would get home from work and crash. I spent more time on Facebook and got hooked on Farmville, Farm Town and Yoville. Now I am feeling better except my ribs and sides feel like someone beat the crap from me, from the coughing. I can't get comfortable even sitting in a chair. I did pick up me needle last night for the first time in almost 3 weeks.
I finished reading Break No Bones by Kathy Reichs and then started and finished Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton. I am not sure what to think of Guilty Pleasures. it was different than other vampire books that I have read. I have almost the whole series to read.

My son Dylan got his license on July 23 and bought a Dodge neon from someone for practicaly nothing.

Justin got all his Fincancial Aid that he needed for another year of college. He Loves his new/used car, Pontiac Sunfire. He also wanted a desktop computer for games so bought an alienware gaming system, which we are waiting on the delivery. He worked a lot this summer.

Scott is still working his 2 jobs. I would like him to get a new truck as his has almost 250,000 miles on it and he has been sticking money into it. The body is in great shape and only a 2001 but he loves his truck and doesn't want to get rid of it.

Well that is it for now. I am going to try and post more often, now that I am feeling better. I am also trying to catch up on everyones blogs. I have read a lot but haven't left comments.

HAED & news & a giveaway

a giveawayMy 17 year old son got his license today. But I was an ASS. We get to the road test site and we are 3rd in line so I get out my wallet to have my license ready to hand to the instructor. I panicked because my license is not in my wallet. My son has a potty mouth, says don't f*** with me mom, I need to take this test. So tears spring to my eyes because he failed his first road test and he really wants his license. i told him I wasn't kidding and I have no idea where my license is. So he calls my husband, get your butt here quick, mom doesn't have her license. Scott calls and says he is now 5 minutes away and the instructor walks up to the car and I tell him we have a small problem and explain. He says he will take the kid behind us in line and then take Dylan when Scott gets there. Scott gets there on time and I take off in his truck. They called me and said Dylan passed. Well I have a nice little sports car that I never owned when I was younger and Justin wasn't allowed to drive it without me for the first few months of his license. He bought a car so he had one. Dylan doesn't have one and wants to take mine, I had a really HARD time letting him take my car to work. But he was home a little after 7 and just left again at 10pm to go pick up a friend to spend the night. I needed to color my hair but now I need 2 boxes for the grey LOL. Anyways more on what I did today.

I listened to 2 more discs on Break No Bones by Kathy Reichs.
Tonight's Netflix movie was Without a Paddle which I had seen a little bit of before but not the whole thing. I enjoyed it very much.
I put in another 300 stitches on HAED Aurora's Garden I had to start putting in a grid. I had an air soluble marker for fabric but the mark would fade away before I finished the 10x10 square so this should be easier. I am done stitching this til next month.

I am on Facebook and am addicted to playing Fairyland, Farmville and Farm Town. Don't know how much time I will get to play after this weekend since I go back to work on Monday.

Jan is having a giveaway on her blog in celebration of her first grandchild. Go check it out.
