HAED progress and 2 Halloween finishes including Crazy January Challenge #1

I managed quite a bit of stitching this weekend.
Saturday I managed a few hours and 200 stitches on HAED SK Sunny .

Today I did dishes and then listened to my audiobook for 6 hours while stitching and doing laundry. I am listening to Smoke Screen by Sandra Brown. I have 3 CDs left to finish it. Anyways after that I watched Once Upon A Time and then Desperate Housewives - 3 more episodes til the series finale :-(
Anyways I finished LK Halloween Rules
 LK Halloween Rules
28 ct Amber linen
Crescent Colours, GAST, WDW, DMC
7/17/11 - 3/25/12

Then I pulled out Crazy January Challenge #1 and finished it right at the end of Desperate Housewives, perfect timing for the blog.
JCS Halloween Collection - Brittercup's Halloween Cat Tree
30 ct Belfast Antique white linen, GAST, Kreinik
1/1/12 - 3/25/12

Pretty good stitching day for me.

Thank you for visiting and the comments, I appreciate all of you.

Crazy January Challenge #13, 14, and 15

I changed my mind on what I was going to stitch on and pulled out Waxing Moon Halloween Hang Ups. There are 3 designs in it so I started those.
Waxing Moon Halloween Hang Ups - Pumpkin

Waxing Moon Halloween Hang Ups - Black Cat

Waxing Moon Halloween Hang Ups - Ghosts

So that is it for the Crazy January Challenge. Now back to the UFO SamSarah Designs The 1892 Pledge. Once the LK Halloween Rules is done then I will stitch on all the Crazy January Challenges and I will finish them this year :-)

Last night was horribly windy out. I thought I was going to lose my home. 30-40mph winds with gusts at 60 mph. I could feel the rooms shaking. There was a severe thunderstorm warning but we didn't get it. The town 2 away from us did and we had our lights flicker a few times. This weather has been crazy.

Last night I finished reading The Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness. The first 70 pages are boring and slow. I was really debating whether to finish it. I am glad that I stuck it out. This is the first book in a trilogy and now will have to wait til this summer for the 2nd book.
Today I started reading Even Cat Sitters Get the Blues by Blaize Clement.
Tonight I also finished an audiobook. The Cove by Catherine Coulter. Very good book and a couple of twists. The next one I will be starting is The Maze by Catherine Coulter. Both of these books are in her FBI series. I have the rest of the series as well. Some are audiobooks and some are books to read.

Thank for visiting and leaving comments.

Crazy January Challenge #11 & #12, and a UFO

I have been stitching, honestly. But I had to take a break from the CJC. I did stitch 2 more and then switched to a UFO over the weekend. I just did not want to stitch what I picked for day 13. So I put it back with what I chose for #14 and #15 and in its places I picked up something else. So starting tomorrow night you will find out what it is.
Anyways here is #11
JCS Halloween 2011 - Brittercup Witchy Kitty
32 ct Silkweaver Lugana, WDW, GAST
I didn't have any of the other threads needed so this was all I could do.

JCS Halloween 2011- Ursula Michael Little Witch
28 ct Silkweaver Lugana, DMC

Now onto my UFO:
SamSarah Design The 1892 Pledge
Weeks Dye Works 30 ct Havana Linen, Crescent Colours
started March 2010
This pattern was for a Cross Stitch retreat that I went to in Syracuse, NY. Sponsored by A Stitcher's Garden LNS. It was small of about 20 of us.

After the next 3 starts for the CJC then I will be focusing on this piece as well as the Christmas Angel and then LK Halloween Rules. Since all the CJC pieces are all Halloween they will be stitched on Sundays.

Thank you everyone for continuing to read and leave comments. I appreciate you all.

Crazy January Challenge #10

Only 5 more days of this and then to my other pieces. All my CJCs will be stitched on Sundays. But only after I finish LK Halloween Rules.
So tonight I pulled out a kit from BeckySC, that she gave me several years ago. It is Mill Hill's Wacky Witch. This has been in my ro do pile since and am so thrilled to have finally pulled it out.
This is how far I got.
I am starting to like reading, The Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness. The first 70 pages were just dragging and boring but once I got to a certain chapter then I wanted to keep reading. So once I am done here then I will read. Tomorrow I will start a new audiobook. The Cove by Catherine Coulter. It is the first book in her FBI series.

While stitching I watched:
2 episodes Live With Kelly!
2 episodes General Hospital

Thank you everyone for all the comments. I have been reading blogs but don't always have a chance to leave comments. I think I have 300-400 blogs that I read so I just can't get to them all or leave comments on each one that I do read. Please understand.

Good night everyone!

Crazy January Challenge #9

Tonight I started Fraidy Cat Basket by Margaret Lee. I bought this design several years ago. at a Cross Stitch Pals Fall Fling. It is being done on 28 ct Jobelan Twilight Blue.
We were really busy at work today. I got out late and by the time I was done with dinner it was after 7. So I didn't get a chance to read any blogs today. I also didn't get a chance to work out with the Wii.

I did watch:
Pretty Little Liars
The Lying Game

I started putting audiobooks on my laptop so I can put them on my ipod. They are the FBI series by Catherin Coulter. I couldn't get the whole series on CD and the ones the library didn't have then I can read. I do own the books.

I also read a few more pages of Discovery of Witches. Just can't seem to get into this book. I will read a little more before I go to bed.

Thank you for all the comments. I appreciate them :-)

Crazy January Challenge #7 & #8

I didn't get a chance to post last night as I had fallen asleep.
This is LK Bugs & Kisses, done on 28 silkweaver Lugana, blue color

Then today I pulled out LK Ghouls Night Out done on 25 ct Wedgewood Blue Lugana.

Saturday- I went through the DVDs and CDs and got them organized and back in the rack. Started some laundry and then I don't know what happened to the time. Went to my inlaws for our Saturday night dinner and making sure they take their meds. Came home and watched Elf with Scott. he hadn't seen it so I had DVRd it for him.

Sunday - Justin took me grocery shopping. He had picked out some menus to try and tonight was one of them. Ham & cheesy potato casserole. It was very good. Got caught up online.
Worked out with The Biggest Losers Wii game. I seemed to have liked it, even though I don't watch the show. I will add this one to my list of more to buy or my wish list.
Tonight I stitched while watching Once Upon a Time and then Desperate Housewives. Both were very good.
I also read a little bit more of my book Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness. As soon as I am done here I will be reading some more.

Thank you everyone for the comments. I appreciate them all.

Crazy January Challenge #6 & magazine Challenge

Well here is tonight's new start. Jack from Cross Stitch & Needleworks issue Oct 1998. He is done on 10 ct Hickory Heatherfield.

Today was partly sunny and a high of 49. Really? in western NY in January? This is crazy but I am not complaining lol.

I finished listening to Port Mortuary by Patricia Cornwell. The storyline was good but the story dragged a little to much for me.

I also did read a couple of pages of Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness.

While stitching tonight I also watched:
Grimm (the last time it aired)
Live With Kelly
General Hospital
Supernatural

Thank you everyone for all the comments. I love them!

Crazy January Challenge #5 & Magazine Challenge

Another new start. This is Frank from the Cross Stitch & Needlework 1998 issue. He is done on 10 ct Hickory Heatherfield.
The weather sure is strange here in western NY. We should be having snow. Where is it? A lot of us think we are going to get it overnight, sometime and it's going to just dump 2 feet. I am not crazy about that idea.

Got out of work yesterday and stopped at Office Max so I could buy this year's journal. I have 4 sections. One is TV, movies, celebrities who died. 2: what I cross stitched on for the year.. 3 Books I read or listened to. 4 personal diary. I started this 3 or 4 years ago. I buy a plain hardcover one and then I use a favorite picture from the previous year's calendar. I always buy a Faerie calendar every year so that is what I use. This one has a Jasmine Beckett Griffith picture.

I am reading Discovery of Witched by Deborah Harkness.
Last night I watched:
Live With Kelly
General Hospital
The Vampire Diaries
Grey's Anatomy
Private Practice
I DVRd - The Secret Circle

Thank you everyone for the great comments, I appreciate all of you.

Crazy January Challenge #4 & Magazine challenge

I pulled out the same magazine as last night, Cross Stitch & Needlework October 1998 and stitched on Drac. He is done on 10 ct Hickory Heatherfield with DMC. I am killing 2 bitds with 1 stone on this design and using it as a Crazy January Challenge and a magazine Challenge.

It was another cold day, not as bad as yesterday though. The sun was out all day though.
Last night I finished reading Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella. I gave it a 5 out of 5 stars. Could not put it down. I started a new book today, A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness.
The library called me that a bunch of audiobooks came in. I am trying to read and listen to all the Catherine Coulter's FBI series.

Thank you for all of the comments, they have made my day. I am trying to leave comments on other blogs as well.

Crazy January Challenge #3

Today's piece is from Cross Stitch & Needlework October 1998 issue. The design is Best Witches. This magazine was given to me by a blogger, who loves Halloween as much as I do. Thank you.
It is stitched on 18 ct. Fiddler's Cloth with DMC thread.
Still very cold out. Not snowing though.

Tonight I watched:
Live With Kelly!
General Hospital
The Christmas Pageant movie - very good

I am getting ready to sit down with my book for a little while. It is Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella.
I did listen to some of my audiobook today, Port Mortuary by Patricia Cornwell. I have about 3 more chapters to listen to.

Thank you for all the comments, they made my day.

Crazy January Challenge #2

I was tired last night so I didn't post my progress.
This is Mirabilia's Halloween Fairy.

I watched The Tournament of Roses Parade, on HGTV. No commercials on that channel. Saw the new HGTV Dream House. It is gorgeous and is in Utah.

I watched a movie, Annie Clause is Coming To Town. I had DVRd it.
I also read some more of my book: Remember Me by Sophie Kinsella. It is hard to put down.

Thanks for reading my blog and leaving comments. Makes my day :-)

Crazy January Challenge #1

Today was the first day of this crazy challenge. I stitch on JCS Halloween Collection Brittercup Halloween Cat Tree. I didn't stitch for long. I don't have all the threads for this so will have to make a shopping trip soon, to the LNS.

The day did not start out good. First of all it is the day of the Tournament of Roses Parade. Always has been on January 1 . But not this year because some morons changed it to tomorrow. I was told because of football. So what? The games don't start til after the parade anyways.

Today was supposed to be a day with my boys and a Turkey dinner. Why do they always say leave the bird in the fridge for 2-4 days to thaw? Nothing ever thaws out in my fridge. So at 2:00 I went to put the bird in the oven and the bird was still frozen. I was so upset. It is now sitting out so I can cook it tomorrow morning and have it for lunch time.

I did manage to read emails, Bbs and blogs today. Do all the laundry in the house. Undecorate my house and tree. The tree is also gone. My house is almost back to normal. I do want to do some organizing in my craft room tomorrow. I am missing specialty flosses and kreinik.

I also read some more of my book:
Remember Me by Sophie Kinsella

We also have high winds and a Lake effect snow watch.

Night everyone. Tomorrow's January start is Nora Corbett's Halloween Fairy.

Thanks for all the comments. I appreciate them a lot.

Time has been flying by

I always want to post but never seem to have the time. The first thing that I want to say is I finished my last Crazy January Challenge of the year!! woohoo!! Here it is, Shepherd's Bush Autumn

The week before I stitched some more on HAED QS Fragile Heart, I just want to eat this one up lol. Just LOVE her!!!
Sunday was more stitching on LK Halloween Rules

This week is HAED Rapunzel and will post a pic soon of how I am doing on this one.

I finished the audiobook, Scarpetta by Patricia Cornwell and am now listening to Scarpetta Factor.

Justin bought Sims3 Pets expansion pack so I am learning how to play with that. I love Sims2 and Sims3 and I try to fit in an hour every day. Usually right before I go to bed.

I am co owner of a Yahoo group called Stitching Sisters. We are looking for new members who will be active and post at least once a week. We have SALs and Challenges but are not a requirement to be part of the group. It is a small group and used to be very busy but the last couple of years has been dead so we are revamping things and would love you to join. Please click on the link above and give us a try, we don't bite. Well.....maybe a nibble once in a while lol.

SB Autumn & LK Halloween Rules

I stitched on and off all week so some days didn't have anything to post. Here is how far I got done on Shepherds Bush Autumn. This is my last project of the Crazy January Challenge. It will be done by the end of the year :-)
Work has picked up and our busy season is now here. Putting in extra hours and coming home tired.

Has anyone started watching any of the new Fall shows? I watched Ringer with Sarah Michelle Gellar and it is really good. Also watched The Secret Circle on the WB and enjoyed that one as well.

Saturday I had my book cross meeting. Dylan and Allie went with me and then we went to the public market. I then went to my inlaws, as we fix them dinner and Scott makes sure his parents take their meds. I had fixed a big pot of goulash, on Friday night, so we heated that back up and I also cooked broccoli.

I haven;t been getting much sleep since my new neighbors, who moved in last summer, got a beagle. It bays all the time and through the night. By Friday night I had enough so Dylan went over and asked them to please do something about it. They said ok. It was quiet the rest of the weekend. So I went over today and thanked them. You would not believe what they told me. My cat and the stray grey one sit at the beagles fenced in area and stare at him all the time. That is why he is baying/barking. So I told them sorry and I am now keeping my cat in the house at night. As far as the stray, he doesn't get near anyone so the neighbor is going to try and set a trap and take it to a shelter or find a farm for it. I don't know how well my cat will like being made to stay in the house but to bad for him. All is quiet in the neighborhood tonight. My cat is sound asleep on the futon and will remain there.

Today I stitched on LK Halloween Rules. I watched 3 episodes of Live with Regis and Kelly, then 3 episodes of General Hospital. Then for the first time in months I sat in my craft room and listened to Scarpetta by Patricia Cornwell. I listened to it for about 2 hours and couldn't figure out why it was a little different then where I left off. It had gone to a different Patrica Cornwell audiobook. So that was a waste of time tonight lol.

Another finish!

When I got home from work I decided to sit and stitch a couple of hours so I pulled out Stitchy Kitty St. Paddy;s Shamrock Paw. It was a January Crazy Challenge and also a UFO since I started it in January and haven't touched it since. Then after dinner I pulled it back out and finished it.

I watched:
Live with Regis and Kelly
General Hospital
Charmed
Pretty Little Liars
The Nine Lives of Chloe King

I pulled out what I want to stitch on tomorrow and it is another January Crazy Challenge/UFO It is a Halloween piece and I will be stitching on it through Saturday, if I finish it then I will have 1 more Crazy January Challenge to finish so they will be done by the end of the year, which was the challenge.

Thanks for all the comments, I sooo appreciate them,
Shelleen

A finish and a new start

JCS 2004 Paw Printing - Penguin Hugs
28 ct Silkweaver , DMC, kreini, MH snowflakes
1/7/11-6/22/11
My June ornament is done. This is Penguin Hugs by Paw Printings. I started him in January as part of the Crazy January Challenge. Isn't he cute?

Then I started a new HAED SAL. Oh now stop groaning, you knew I had to join the new one. If they only had ugly ones this time then I wouldn't have joined. See it isn't my fault at all *G*

I only put in 100 stitches. I will alternate with this piece and Fragile Heart. Once Fragile Heart is done then I will move onto the first HAED I had started, Aurora's Garden. Hopefully I won't like any of the SALs next year lol.
While stitching I watched all this week's General Hospitals and finished listening to The Lovers by John Connolly. Although I liked the book, I don't understand why 2 beings were going after the main character. I either blocked out the part that explained it or it never did explain it enough for me to understand. Oh well.

Tomorrow I have calling hours to go to. My cousin-in-laws father died on Sunday after suffering from cancer all through his body. Please keep her and her family in your prayers as they go through this difficult time. He was a great man and always had a smile on his face.

Dylan's girlfriend, Allie, txt me today saying that she had an extra ticket for graduation and really wanted me to go. So of course I will go and am thrilled that she asked me. It is Sunday at 2. Her graduation party is July 3rd and I am looking forwards to that.

Thank you for reading and all the comments, I sure do appreciate them.

Catching up

I have been a bad blogger, I know. Trying to do everything that I love after work while cleaning and getting other things done. It just doesn't always work.
Memorial weekend Scott, my sister, Dylan's girlfriend, and I, went and visited Dylan. We spent Saturday at King of Prussia Mall. That was a long day and a lot of walking. Sunday we went to Philly to Adventure Aquarium, which was a lot of fun.

I have been stitching a little bit.
May 30th I finished May's ornament , that was also a Crazy January Challenge.
JCS 2003 With My Needle - A Needleworker's Pocket

I also have been stitchin on It's Halloween by The Drawn Thread.

Half of it is done

Then I have stitched some more on HAED QS Fragile Heart.

The other day Justin called me. Seems he had decided to go for a run and fell on a sidewalk right on his knee. Ouch is right. He didn't have anything for first aid in his apartment so mom went to the rescue with bandades, gauze and tape. Mended him right up. I guess he does need me sometimes.

Well that is it for now, I am going to try and make it a regular habit to blog again.

Crazy January challenge #2 finished

This is an ornament that I started January 2.

JCS 1999 Chessie & Me - Chessie's Tree
January 2, 2011 - February 22, 2011

Then today I started a SAL with a BB. It is by The Stitcherhood and is Love (freebie) On 28 ct Monaco with silk thread.

The other day, on Facebook, Dylan's ex Shelbi kept saying she missed me. So tonight we met my sister and went out for sushi. It ended up being a hibachi sushi buffet. It was really good but we wanted a place to go to that you order what kind of sushi rolls that you want. I would go back there again but if wanting ordered sushi we would go somewheres else.

Tonight I listened to the audiobook Angel Time by Anne Rice. I am at chapter 13. Not sure if the story is boring or just the narrator.
Every night I play a game on my new PC but forget to mention what it is.
Tonight's game: Sim City 4

Thanks for all the comments.

Halloween Sunday - Poof Hat

While stitching I was doing laundry and then went grocery shopping.
I stitched on Poof Hat by Ursula Michael.
I started listening to Under The Dome by Stephen King. It is 34 hours long.
I also watched Aliens In The Attic which was a silly movie. Then I watched Desperate Housewives. Hmmm so who did shoot Paul?
This week I will be stitching on HAED QS Fragile Heart.

Crazy January Challenge #15

This is the last day! Now to finish them all this year :-) This has been fun and am hoping to do it again next year.
This is By The Full Moon - Ink Circles, out of the JCS 2010 Halloween issue. It is stitched on 40 ct and let me say, I have no idea how those of you stitch on this. It is crazy lol. I do have an eye appointment on Wednesday and it will be the first pair of glasses that I have ever needed. Last year my eye sight started going a little.
I used my new vacuum today and loved it! Just take the canister off and dump it. I dumped it after I vacuumed each room and then when done I washed it out. No more bags!
I ordered the parts for a new gaming computer and have someone building it for me. Can not wait :-)

Fixed Pulled pork for my in laws tonight. I have been asked to fix them their dinner every Saturday night. I can just warm up what is in their fridge/freezer but since I have to cook for Scott and I then I might as well cook it and then take it to their house and eat with them. They said they like everything so not sure what is next weekend, yet.

Tomorrow I will be stitching on an Halloween piece. Not sure if I want to work on Poof Hat or finish something that I started in December and would be from the Up For a Challenge category. I am thinking finish the one and then work on Poof Hat.

night all,
Shelleen
