This is the 2nd book of Wicked Games. I enjoyed the first book a lot so of course had to sign up for this book.
Genevieve got an invitation for a place in Italy. There she meets Rowin and he doesn't want her there and slams the door in heer face but she finds a way in.
Rowin and his family are playing a deadly game and she is caught in it, In order for her to win she needs Rowin's help and they must make it look like they are in love.
There are so many deadly games ahd Rowin's family tries to kill her.
It s fast paced and alot of thrills throughout the book. Rowin and Genevieve have an attraction that they both are fighting.

This story was different than others. It is like Telepathy and in singing. Even able to "talk" to someone you have never met or lives miles away. How the world outcasts them and call them unhumans and is punishable.

Moira Buffini (born 1965) is an English dramatist, director, and actor.

She was born in Carlisle to Irish parents, and studied English and Drama at Goldsmiths. She subsequently trained as an actor at the Welsh College of Music and Drama.

For Jordan, co-written with Anna Reynolds in 1992, she won a Time Out Award for her performance and Writers' Guild Award for Best Fringe play. Her 1997 play Gabriel was performed at Soho theatre, winning the LWT Plays on Stage award. Her 1999 play Silence earned Buffini the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize for best English-language play by a woman. Loveplay followed at the RSC in 2001, then Dinner at the National Theatre in 2003 which transferred to the West End and was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best Comedy.

Buffini wrote Dying For It, a free adaptation of Nikolai Erdman's classic, The Suicide, for the Almeida in 2007. She followed it with Marianne Dreams, a dance play with choreographer Will Tuckett, based on Catherine Storr's book. Her play for young people, A Vampire Story was performed as part of NT Connections in 2008.

Buffini is said to advocate big, imaginative plays rather than naturalistic soap opera dramas, and is a founder member of the Monsterists, a group of playwrights who promote new writing of large scale work in the British theatre. She has been described by David Greig as a metaphysical playwright. All her plays have been published by Faber.

Buffini is also a prolific screenwriter. In 2010 her film adaptation of Posy Simmon's Tamara Drewe was released followed by her adaptation of Jane Eyre for BBC Films and Ruby Films in 2011. The script appeared on the 2008 Brit List, a film-industry-compiled list of the best unproduced screenplays in British film. It received nine votes, putting it in second place. Buffini also adapted her play A Vampire Story for the screenplay of Neil Jordan's film Byzantium released in 2013.

She took part in the Bush Theatre's 2011 project Sixty Six for which she wrote a piece based upon a chapter of the King James Bible.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This story is inspired from Mulan and follows a woman who does not want to marry the man chosen to her so she decides to dress like a man and join the army.
Meilin starts having visions of a sea dragon spirit and she thinks she is crazy at first.
She starts forming relationships with some of the men. Friendships and has romantic feelings for one.
I enjoyed getting to know her and why she does what she did and this dragon spirit.

In the distance, Vasilisa caught the faint sound of air moving through labored lungs. There he was. She had him now. She waited until she was positively certain that this was the man she was connected to. Her man. The man whose soul she guarded so carefully. She began to match that labored breathing, allowing her lungs to take on the same ragged gasps struggling for air. Once they were in perfect sync, she began to even the two of them out slowly. He became aware of her instantly.

Be careful, she cautioned. There are others who might overhear if you aren’t cautious. How badly are you injured?

She sighed. She should have known he would ask. There was no getting around this. Vasilisa Sidkorolyavolkva. And you?

I am called Afanasiv Belan. Or Siv for short. The daughter of the royal wolf, he mused. Are you aware of what you are to me?

Vasilisa didn’t know if it was because they were speaking telepathically to one another that his voice stroked and caressed like a deep, husky velvet brush. Soft. Gentle. She might have found humor in the situation, but there was something else she caught a glimmer of—the smallest of scars, although its thickness gave her pause. That scar shouldn’t have been there in his mind. It wasn’t a barrier. He had those in abundance, hard walls she couldn’t penetrate, nor was she attempting to do so. That thick scar wasn’t actually in his mind, he’d been thinking of it in some conjunction with him. Sorrow had been instantly overwhelming.

the 36th book of a series.

I really enjoyed getting to know these 2 and even though a lot was going on in the book and a lotm of other characters I didn't get lost. I thought with it being the 36th book of the series and not reading them all that I would have a hard time but it felt like a standalone.
You could feel that there was something there between these 2 right from the beginning when they met.

I did not think I would like this book as much as I did. I ended up loving it and the mystery of a city under water and a curse of a mask.

Then another death happens which makes them have more questions. As Ari and Rafael get closer and things start happening. This which cant be real but are. Who is Gwen and Laure and what do they have to do with all of this? We know Laure is Rafael's sister but I didn't trust her. I trusted Gwen even less.

This collection of eleven tales is a must-have addition to the Terry Brooks canon--a delightful way to spend time with favorite characters, and a wonderful reminder of what makes a Brooks story such a timeless classic.
I have not read any of Terry's books and I did watch a few epsodes of the Shannara Chronicles. Being new to his work I would recommend reading this book of short stories to get to know the worlds and see what attracts you to his books and go from there.
Out of all 11 short stores , 3 of them were my favorites.

Terry Brooks was born in Illinois in 1944, where he spent a great deal of his childhood and early adulthood dreaming up stories in and around Sinnissippi Park, the very same park that would eventually become the setting for his bestselling Word & Void trilogy. He went to college and received his undergraduate degree from Hamilton College, where he majored in English Literature, and he received his graduate degree from the School of Law at Washington & Lee University.

Noah is a simple horror writer turned demon hunter and damsel rescuer when Lilith, the Queen of the Succubus & Incubus, unexpectedly calls in his life debt.
Wow, lots of action in this book. For Jezebeth to have energy she has to have sex with a man and can change her image to what the man's dream woman is. But then she meets Noah and he is trying to keep her alive and away from the demon that wants to kill her.
Although I did like this storyline and the 2 main characters I had a hard time with Lilith, the Queen of the Succubus & Incubus and her sex scenes with another woman. That was not something I was expecting when I read this and was a turn off for me. Don't get me wrong, I am all in support of the gay community but I don't care to read that. Otherwise I probably would have given the book a 4 star.

I read the first 3 books several years ago and I finally wanted to finish up the series. He is writing the 7th and final book and I am not sure when that will be out. But I will look forwards to it.

I do own the hardcover but I listened to this on audio while looking at the book.Was a lot of fun doing it this way. The narrator, Michael Kramer, was really good as well.
This bustling, optimistic, but still shaky society now faces its first instance of terrorism, crimes intended to stir up labor strife and religious conflict. Wax and Wayne, assisted by the lovely, brilliant Marasi, must unravel the conspiracy before civil strife stops Scadrial’s progress in its tracks.
It has romance, intrigue and a western vibe to it. Even though I don't care for westerns this was done so well. Elendel is no longer a peaceful and prosperous city that Harmony and the Originators left behind. Society is evolving and with that comes corruption.

This book was fantasy mixed with western and it was so much fun listening to this and the characters are just so intense and everything is action packed. I can't wait for the last book of the series to come out.
