Beautiful, rich and powerful, Sophia Ivanov has been sniffing around Anna’s business empire and she’s got only one thing on her mind – revenge. She’s convinced Anna and her gangster boyfriend, Freddie Tyler, killed her Russian crime boss husband, Alexis, and she’s determined to make them pay.

When Sophia turns up at their club one night, it’s clear she’s not there for a friendly visit and tensions begin to flare. Anna knows Sophia is a danger to their business, but she doesn’t realise how much until Freddie finds himself in unthinkable danger. Can Anna and Freddie get rid of Sophia once and for all… and what will be left when the fighting stops?

MY REVIEW:

Ruthless Girl: An absolutely gripping, gritty crime thrillerRuthless Girl: An absolutely gripping, gritty crime thriller by Emma Tallon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 7th book of the series and they keep getting better and I can never get enough
This is a crime thriller/mob story and the same characters are in all the books and to know what is going on then I recommend reading them in order.
Anna Davies is young, smart and successful, plus she’s the head of one of London’s biggest crime networks.
Beautiful, rich and powerful, Sophia Ivanov has been sniffing around Anna’s business empire and she’s got only one thing on her mind – revenge. She thinks Anna and Freddie has her Russian crime boss husband killed.
Freddie Tyler runs everything in the city of London. He is also Anna's boyfriend.
I can never get enough of this series. The whole family dynamics and how they treat people who are loyal to them. But don't double cross them.

Description:

Everyone is going to the housewarming party.
All the same people who lived on the street the day Abi vanished…
Will her mother finally learn the truth?

Ava only left her daughter in the pushchair for five minutes. The buckle was fastened, and she was sure it was safe. But when she came downstairs, the door was open and Abi was gone – she walked down the road, past the Lovegoods’ house, and was never seen again.

A year later, the Lovegoods are planning their long-anticipated housewarming party. Ava doesn’t want to go. She can’t bear to look down that end of the road, to see the place where Abi vanished, and she doesn’t want to spend time with people who don’t share her grief. Her husband Matt persuades her: he’s worried about her. A night out might do her good.

But as her friends and neighbours chat, and the drink and gossip flows, Ava learns something new about the day she has re-lived a thousand times. A throwaway comment which could change everything.

Ava thought she knew every last detail of that day.

She’s about to find out she was wrong…

Brilliantly dark and moving suspense fiction for fans of Gillian Flynn, Claire McGowan and Lisa Jewell, The Housewarming will have your pulse racing and your heart in your mouth from start to finish.

MY REVIEW: The HousewarmingThe Housewarming by S.E. Lynes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ava left her daughter in the pushchair for 5 minutes while she cleaned. When she came downstairs the front door was wide opened and her daughter was missing. How could Abi have gotten out? Ava could have sworn she locked the front door and had Abi strapped in the chair.
She walked down the road calling her daughter. Looking everywhere and never finding her.
A Year later the neighbors, lovegoods, throw a party. Ava doesn't want to go but her friends and husband convince her to go. But she starts hearing things and being told somethings and now she has questions because things just don't add up or make sense.

She needs a fresh start. He’s got scars that haven’t healed. With the help of some rescue dogs, they’ll discover that everyone deserves a chance at happiness.

After a year of heartbreak and loss, the only thing keeping Constance afloat is the dog rescue she works at with her sister, Sunny. Desperate for a change, Constance impulsively joins a new gym, even though it seems impossibly hard, and despite the gym’s prickly owner.

Rhett Santos keeps his gym as a refuge for his former-military brothers and to sweat out his own issues. He’s ready to let the funny redhead join, but unprepared for the way she wiggles past his hard-won defenses.

When their dog rescue is threatened, the sisters fight to protect it. And they need all the help they can get. As Rhett and Constance slowly open up to each other, they’ll find that no one is past rescuing; what they need is the right person—or dog—to save them.

MY REVIEW

Rescue YouRescue You by Elysia Whisler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Constance and Sunny, are 2 sisters, who run a dog rescue shelter.
Constance is getting over a heartbreak and has joined a gym. Rhett owns the gym and is in need of rescuing himself. As Constance and Rhett get close to each other he is also helping them with the dog rescue. We are also getting first hand about their neighbor who runs a puppy mil.
This book has all the emotions. Wanting to scoop up the rescued dogs and wanting the puppy mill shut down. I loved how these 2 sisters work together. What they go through to rescue dogs and the work they put into keeping them healthy.
Thank you to Harlequin and NetGalley for the ARC to review.

Escape to the idyllic small town of Pinewood Hills in this enchanting romance, about falling in love under the mistletoe with a sprinkle of Christmas magic…

For Lila Evans, Christmas is the toughest time of year––a heartbreaking reminder of losing her father, and just how lonely she is… This year, she’s organized a blissful getaway with her closest friends: just the remedy for the December blues.

The countryside resort of Fireside Cabins, tucked away in the snowy Tennessee hills, seems like this year’s perfect setting to get into the festive spirit. But it’s far from a winter wonderland––the crumbling cottage is falling apart, and the owner, a widow named Eleanor Finely, confesses that the cabins are on the brink of closure. Lila and her friends should pack their bags right there and then, but Lila can’t bear to leave the tearful elderly woman. She clearly has no one, and Lila, more than anyone, knows how that feels.

In search of holiday cheer, the women find a local coffee shop. But the rugged, surly owner Theo Perry has an apparent aversion to Christmas, seeming downright angry when Lila asks for a peppermint latte. No one in the area knows who he is––but it’s clear he’s running from something.

Yet there’s more to this small town than Theo’s frosty reception. As much as his coldness infuriates her, Lila can’t deny that on the rare occasions when he does smile, it feels like coming home. Plus, the cabins are just calling for some festive sparkle.

And, unexpectedly, Pinewood Hills could hold a new beginning for Lila… But can she save Fireside Cabins in time for Christmas? With a dusting of festive magic, spiced apple cider and sugarplum pie, could this be the first holiday she doesn’t spend alone?

Indulge in this glittering page-turner that might just prove, at this magical time of year, that almost anything is possible. Christmas at Fireside Cabins is the perfect holiday treat for fans of Debbie Macomber, Susan Mallery and Sheila Roberts.

The friends all get to Fireside Cabins. The crumbling cottage is falling apart, and the owner, a widow named Eleanor Finely, confesses that the cabins are on the brink of closure.
They all go to the local coffee shop hoping to find some holiday cheer but the owner is not so nice.
Lila is not giving up though and determined to make this visit fun for all of them.

This author makes the holidays all warm with friendships and locations.

‘My name is Phoebe Locklear. I think I’m your daughter.’

I rehearse the words as I walk up the path, clutching a faded old photograph of a little girl with thick dark hair.

When I knock, the door opens, and there she is: the woman I believe is my mother. The woman whose five-year-old daughter disappeared fifteen years ago.

Had I known what would happen next, would I have knocked on that door? Would I take back the lives I’ve destroyed?

Vanessa Larkin just agreed to an out-of-town job assignment over the holidays. With the promise of a hefty bonus if she can get things done by the new year she heads for tiny Fraser Hills. Determined to succeed, she’s not worried about whipping the shutdown process into overdrive to meet the challenge. Only when she gets there she realizes her bosses haven’t been upfront with the town about the plans to shut down the plant.

Mike Marshall, a widower raising a teenaged daughter, is a big believer in tradition and doing things the old-fashioned way. When Mike finds out his grandfather has sold the family business to some big corporation, he’s angry. Not that he wanted the business, but selling it makes no sense to him. As much as Mike and Vanessa butt heads about doing things the old vs the new way, when his teenage daughter requires some motherly advice he gives in to Vanessa’s offer to help.

As much as she despises having to do it, Vanessa has to announce the shut-down plans and get things moving—and it's not going to make her popular with the town, or with Mike who she’s completely taken by. Now this has become a corporate vs heart decision, and she’s not sure she can make both sides happy. She’s hoping for a Christmas miracle that might land her with the very best Christmas gift of all...

I was a dick for even contemplating what I was going to do to Alex’s willing and pliant body. She perched herself on my lap, the hint of skin she was showing me mouthwatering. It took all my self-control not to tear the towel from her body and take her. Still, her words were dancing around the inside of my skull: I’ve stripped myself bare for you, Nick. Will you make love to me now? She had stripped herself bare. She had given me the raw, undiluted truth of her broken life and I still hadn’t given her a shred of truth of my own. My own truth would ruin her, so instead of spilling all my secrets, I reached up and parted the towel a little more. Her skin was smooth and unblemished, so different to my own chest covered in ink and scars. My eyes drifted down further to where the towel now pooled in her lap. Placing my hands on the smooth expanse of her exposed skin, I tightened my grip a little, watching in fascination as her eyes fluttered shut with the sensation. I inched my fingers higher, her skin heating under my touch. She made a small strangled sound and I glanced up to see her mouth parted. Her eyes were hooded, her desire for me an intoxicating mix. I held on to the reins of my self-control though. Alex wasn’t weak, but there were certain aspects of her that were still fragile. I knew enough about her to recognize that. Sweeping my thumbs higher still, I reached the tops of her thighs, her pussy. She made that same little noise as before, but this time, her hips rolled forward, chasing my touch.

Taking the Fall (Vipers MC #1)Taking the Fall by Kally Ash
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Nick Sobolev was sent to prison for a crime he didn't commit. After 5 years he is released and now needs to find a job and start his life over as an ex con.
Alexis Cross owns a mechanic shop and Nick walks in looking for a job. Alexis is trying to avoid her father but in a city it is hard to do that. Her past is catching up to her and not in a good way.
I wanted to know more about both of them and Kally Ash did not disappoint. Learning who Alexis's father is and her past made me wanting more to read and Nick's past was also revealed. The chemistry between these 2 is right there for us. Oh yeah and I can't forget that there is Alexis's exes who are no good. Did I mention Alexis's dog? Yeah he is a big part in this book as well and I wanted to reach through the book and hug him.

Maize Bishop spends her days cooking and baking for her family’s bed and breakfast. The last thing she has time for is a relationship, especially when there are no single men within a hundred-mile radius. When a mysterious newcomer flirts with her over drinks, she gives in to his mesmerizing green eyes and goes home with him.

Now that he works for her family’s ranch, she’ll avoid him at all costs.

There are only so many places to hide, and keeping her distance is easier said than done. After months of giving her space, Gavin’s tired of waiting for Maize to admit what he knows they both want—a second round between the sheets. It may only take eight seconds to win a championship, but he'll prove to her that he can go all night long.

She’s too young, he’s too arrogant, and together, they’re electric—the perfect recipe for disaster.

MY REVIEW:

Wrangling the Cowboy (Circle B Ranch Book 3)Wrangling the Cowboy by Kennedy Fox
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Gavin just retired from being a bull rider. After many years of the abuse the body takes he knew his time was now. So he takes a job at a small town ranch and sees the woman he had a one night stand with.
Maize Bishop is the cook at her families Bed and Breakfast. Her dream is to have a catering business.
Then she sees Gavin, who she had a one night stand with, and pretends she doesn't know him or remember him. After all she isn't getting involved with someone who works at the ranch, again.
Gavin hasn't gotten over her and wants a chance with her. He is quite a bit older than her and ready to settle down.
Love the Bishop family. There are so many of them, parents, aunts, uncles and cousins and they are all supportive of each other.
