How was your weekend?
Went out with 8 other women from Curves. We do this once a month. We ended up going to Margarita's, which is a Mexican restaurant. We had a lot of fun.
I always stitch an ornament on the 25th of each month. Well Friday was pretty busy so I didn't get to my ornament til Saturday. This is JCS 2007 Brittercup Poinsettia. I am not sure how I want to finish it yet.

I will work on this kit of ornaments etc. on the weekends as part of the Cross Stitch Pals MB challenge . The card that I am doing is We Love The Winter Weather and will post a pic when I am done.
The kids go back to school tomorrow, after 2 weeks off. Which is a good thing because Dylan has had friends over almost every day and night since it started. Will be nice to have my house back :-) Work has been so slow and have only been getting in about 12 hours a week. Can't wait for this slow season to be over. it has been nice to get things done at home but bills don't get paid.
I have been playing 4 Sim City Deluxe Edition and having a blast building cities. Anyone else have this game?

I am here
My bad news is no car. My engine is shot and I have no more warranty on the car, it is a used '99 mercury Cougar. So we are getting a used engine but the labor will kill us. Although it is my neighbor's shop working on it and he has said if Scott does alot of the work then the labor won't be so bad. Scott does know how to do most of it so that will save us. But coming up with the money ahs to wait til taxes come in, that will be the end of February. meantime Scott has to take me to and from work.
I am so far behind on stitching. I have a few SALs that i wanted to do this month, with the Cross Stitch pals. I also have a RR to start and is supposed to be mailed Feb. 1. I don't know if that will happen for me.
I have all these packages here to mail out of books for the giveaways and a chart but no way to get there. i was supposed to go yesterday but Scott couldn't get me to the PO on time due to unfortunate events that came up for him. And no, I don't live in town to walk.
I finished reading Just Rewards by Barbara Taylor Bradford and is part of her Emma Harte series. I am now reading The Hard way by lee Child. I finished lsitening to Chill Factor by Sandra Brown and am now listening to Ricochet by Sandra Brown. Both are very good.
Well I need to go and get some laundry done and sit and do some serious stitching today. I had started Simply Winter by Waxing Moon, yesterday. it is part of a season SAL through the Cross Stitch pals. I plan on watching Failure To Launch and then listen to Ricochet, while I am stitching. Yesterday I watched Basic Instinct 2.
I will post later of the winners of this weeks book and chart giveaway and list the new giveaways.

I finished stitching Joy tree Ornament by M Designs
I am now stitching on Halloween bag from M Designs . I took the class in Myrtle Beach at the Cross Stitch Pals Fall Fling. The class was fun and I want to finish this bag. I will take a pic when i finish it. I then will stitch on the Autumn piece that goes with it and the 2 fobs. But I do have to stitch a fob for an exchange I am in and it needs to be mailed this week.
I watched season I of The Dresden Files. it is a SciFi series that i just found out about. I am not sure if it is a summer show or what. I read the book by Jim Butcher and was told that they made a series on TV based on his series of books. I loved the DVDs that i watched all weekend and will keep an eye out for the series on Scifi.
I have had a couple of bad days with my car. Why does everything have to be computerized and harder to figure out what is wrong with a car? I have had my car worked on but other codes keep popping up. I can't drive it or I will be in a car accident and I can't trade it in because I still have a 1 1/2 years left on payments. Besides I love my car. it is a '99 Mercury Cougar and it handles awesome!! I have a great stereo system in it as well. I am hoping once it is fixed this time that it will run like mint again.
Justin had Alex over for the weekend, which he is a great kid. Dylan spent Friday with Vanessa at a friend's house and then Vanessa showed up today , to hang out with me while Dylan was at work. She is the best thing to happen to him and he knows it lol.

This & That
Monday my family got together with my sis and BIL at my parent's house. I received 3 Racheal Ray frying pans and the DVD collection Christmas Televison Favorites. Then all my aunts, uncles and cousins showed up, in the evening ,at my parent's. They had a grab bag exchange but we didn't do that as funds were low. But we had a great time.
Christmas day we slept in. Scott got me a fairie t shirt and calendar, dear form slippers. Justin & Alexbought me cranberry bath stuff from The Body Shop. Dylan bought me pedicure stuff and bath scented Moonlight Path from Bath & Body Works. Dylan's girlfriend bought me Honey Shea bath and body stuff. I sure will smell good.
We had a white Christmas , which is perfect. For those of you who don't get snow, I feel sorry for you because there is nothing more perfect than snow on Christmas with all the Christmas lights and carols.
Yesterday was back to work. I am getting caught up on laundry and cleaning as well.
I started stitching M Designs Joy Tree from the 2005 JCS Ornament issue. I watched the DVD Zodiac, which was good.
I am reading Sweet Revenge by Diane Mott Davidson and am listening to Motor Mouth by Janet Evanovich. This is a sequel to Metro Girl and a little better as well. No more words NASCAR GUY even though he is in this book as well.
Tonight I plan on watching Carolina Moon on DVD, which is a Nora Roberts novel. Will stitch on M Designs Joy Tree.

Putting stitched gifts together and watching TV.

I finished reading Twelve Sharp and Lean Mean Thirteen by Janet Evanovich and finished listening to Metro Girl by Janet Evanovich. I am getting ready to read Coming Out by Danielle Steel and listening to Motor Mouth by Janet Evanovich.
I finished the Gilmore Girls series on DVD. Was sad to see that end. Now I have to catch up on Netflix and with the shows on hiatus because of the strike and Christmas season I am hoping to watch a lot of movies.
I have been stitching on Mill Hill's Flying High and on the Santa Fishing Stocking.

Dylan's surgery
Dylan has some pain and swelling but doing fine.
I ended up going to the LNS and got most of what I need but I am almost out of kreiniks 032 and I need 2-3 spools of that so will have to order online. Plus she doesn't carry Stitchy Kitty designs and I want the new snowman Trio. Then we went to a mall so Dylan and Justin could get some Christmas shopping done. Then off to Joanne's and I bought some fiberfill and 3 wooden boxes for Christmas gifts.
I crashed when I got home and the storm started around 7 pm and another front is on the way today so we are supposed to end up with 1-2 feet of snow all together. I want to put together some ornaments for gifts.

Snowy Day
Meanwhile, while I was at work. Scott called me and said that Dylan's finger is worse than they thought and he has to have surgery tomorrow. I told him that I couldn't miss work. There is only 3 of us in the whole place and my supervisor is out tomorrow. The other lady works less hours than I do because she takes kids to school and picks them up from school. But they told me that Dylan is more important than my job so to take the day off and the one lady will have her daughter home, from college so she can help her at work. Did I tell you how great these women are that I work with. They said that I am a mommy and that my kids come first. We also have been having furnace problems at work. But I won't even go into that.
So on the way home from work Scott wanted his deer pictures developed. So I took my memory card in and printed up 2 pics and he could not believe how fast it was. Yes Scott is computer and electronically illiterate. Then he asks if I can buy him supper and he wants chinese so away we go and pick up chinese and burger King for Dylan, yes he actually went to work with his hand all bandaged up.
I plan on reading and watching TV for the rest of the evening.
I am reading Twelve Sharp by Janey Evanovich and am about halfway through the book. Very funny.
Supernatural, on the CW, is a new episode tonight so I will watch that and stitch on Fishing Santa Stocking.

tree is decorated
Dylan had his new girlfriend over and the ex kept calling him and crying. I told him he will lose the new girlfriend if he keeps taking her calls. But what do I know LOL.
I finished reading The Case of the Roasted Onion by Claudia Bishop. The main character is a vet and this was first in the series. I gave it a 4/5.
I am now reading Twelve Sharp by Janet Evanovich and plan on reading more tonight.
We have a storm coming in tomorrow afternoon and we are supposed to get 4"-8". It will come down fast and be hard to see so pray that it hits after I get home from work. Otherwise Scott will have to pick me up from work. Nothing else going on here and 2 days of no stitching time :-(
Not working for 18 years spoiled me and I got so much more done. I have no energy to do anything and less time to do it in. Insomnia would come in handy sometimes.

lots going on
Friday I woke up feeling blah, sinuses I think. So I didn't go to Curves. Went to work but got worse so I left at noon. I got home and crawled into bed. The kids got home at 3 and what do they do? Ask me questions:
Dylan:Mom, did dad cash my paycheck?
Me: I don't know he has been hunting all day.
10 minutes , after I fell back asleep
Justin:Mom why are you home already and in bed?
Me:I am sick and trying to sleep.
Now I am awake so I might as well get up. DH also knows that I am home sick as I had called him when I left work. He calls me at 5 pm. Wants to know if I want to have dinner with his family. No, I am sick, DUH! Dylan also has a friend crashing for the night. Dylan comes home, from the neighbors with a swollen finger. Was piling wood and someone threw a piece which pinched his finger between 2 pieces of wood.
Saturday we get up. My car is going in the shop because it likes to stall and the engine light is on. So I take it next door for them to work on it. Dylan gets up for work and says he thinks his finger is broken, Scott thinks it is dislocated. Well Dylan has to be at work and we are down to 1 vehicle. So Scott drops Dylan off at work and then comes pick me back up, I drop Scott off to work Dylan's job and take him to the emergency room. They do an xray and his finger is broken and dislocated. OUCH!! So they put it in a splint and have to put the finger back into place. Now I can watch my kids get stitches, have blood drawn, ect. Watching them do this to my child's finger is a no go. So I watch Dylan's face and his face gets real white and his eyes are funky and he almost passed out. Now his finger is all better and says he will take me out for lunch. So we pick up lunch for Scott as well. Drop that off to him and find out my car is done. They put in a new fuel filter and spark plugs. I drive it and it is still not all better. So they put in new spark plug wires. Mean time I go back and pick up Scott from work and then go and pick up the Christmas tree. Bring that home and Scott takes Dyaln's friend home. I fall asleep on the couch, knowing that we have a Christmas party at 6pm and I still need a shower. When I wake up 2 hours later, Scott is still not home because the gas station was so busy that he helped out there for a little bit. I get my shower, he comes home and gets his shower and out the door we go for the Christmas party. Now I had planned on sleeping all day so I would feel better. That did not happen.
Sunday was a little better and I did sleep in. Justin even brought Dylan home at 9:30pm, from work so I could go to bed early. Great kid that he is.
Did I mention that 2 weeks ago Dylan and his girlfriend broke up? I was so thrilled but they were still hanging together all the time. I don't like her or her family. Well Monday he txts me from work about a girl coming over, after school. I said sure. This girl is very pretty and polite. I liked her alot. They are now going out and Dylan is such a happier kid without the ex in his life. She was a very depressing person and never smiled or joked around. This new girl is all smiles and very talkative. So I am thrilled for him.
My stitching and reading has taken a back burner to my getting rest so I will feel better. it is just sinuses and sudafed will help, if I remember to take it.
Today I leave for work and my engine light is on again so I call Scott and ask him if I can get a new car LOL. He said to leave mine on the railroad tracks LOL. I love my car but not to happy with it at the moment. Dylan's new girlfriend is here again and I hoping to decorate the tree and maybe stitch tonight.
Well I guess I talked all of your eyes off so I will go. Such drama for just a few days of no posting LOL.

Blogging trouble
Last night I hunkered down with the warmth and didn't leave the house.
I finished the book Knit One, Kill Two by Maggie Sefton and loved it. Then I started reading The Case of the Roasted Onion by Claudia Bishop.
I stitched a few hours on Fishing Santa stocking and getting quite a bit accomplished on it.
I watched a DVD Gilmore Girls season 7 disc 3.
Well I have to go and wait for DH to come pick me up for work.

Happy Sunday!
Last night Justin called me and said he just hit a deer but he didn't see any damage to the car. Scott and I told him to call the police anyways. He is ok and there is just a small dent in the fender and some plastic broken off of a headlight but the light works. Glad that he is ok. Not sure about the deer though as they couldn't find it.
Today I got up early and went on the computer to read emails, blogs and BB. Then stitched on MH Flying High while watching Gilmore Girls Season 7 Disc 2. When that DVD was done I decided to read Knit One, Kill Two by Maggie Sefton. I am hoping to finish it before I fall asleep. This is a Cozy Mystery and a series that I will definately want to continue. Then back to stitching and watched Desperate Housewives. OMG it was so good and left you hanging at the end and with this writers strike who knows when it will be on again.
Ruth , I would love Halloween Fairy when you are done with it. Is there anything that I can send you in exchange? Thank you so much.
Old Yankee Stitcher, Knit One, Kill Two is a great book and you should read it.

DVR:
Kyle XY - 8/20 8/27 9/3
Desperate Housewives 11/25
TV tonight was Shrek The Halls Christmas special. Very cute!
At work we are getting ready for the big move into the new building. The supervisor and other woman that I work with, packed and took some things over today. I helped as well. I can't wait for the new move. We are in a really old building that is freezing and we have to share the bathroom which is not that great and several times my supervisor has walked in on a guy because he doesn't close the door. He must think he is home. the new building is just for our business so there is just the 3 of us there. Will be so nice. So when we are done working tomorrow then we have to help move. We are hoping that there will be enough guys to move the big things as we can't do that.
SBQ of the week
Most of us stitchers joke about having reached SABLE (stash acquired beyond life expectancy), but have you thought about what you’d like done with your stash after your death? Do you want it to reach other stitchers who will love it, too? Would your family know what to do with it or recognize its value?
How well organized is your stash –would someone be able to come in and put together a sale easily, or would it require lots of organizing work ahead of time? What would you like to see done with the funds collected from such a sale, i.e., should funds go to your family, to a charity or charities of your choice, to a charity or charities of your family’s choice, etc.?
Are there certain items in your stash which are rare and highly desired by stitchers that might make a much larger amount of money if sold on eBay? Have you done anything to designate which items these more valuable ones are to guide your family in how to handle them? Who would you tell your family should handle such a sale so that they don’t have to do it themselves? Have you done anything to make these thoughts known to others, either through discussions or through a codicil to your will?
Have you ever attended a similar sale of a passed stitcher’s stash? How did it make you feel? Did it encourage you to make any changes in your stitching lifestyle?
I have actually discussed this with my family and they know that they would just have to make a couple of emails to friends and any of my cross stitch online friends can come and have whatever they want. Mine is actually pretty well organized.

Lazy Day
Thursday- got up and took my shower. As soon as I stepped out and grabbed a towel, the power went out. I was thankful that I still didn't have shampoo in my hair but how was I supposed to blow dry and make it look nice for Thanksgiving day. Power was back on in 30 min. So I missed about 45 minutes of the Macy's Parade. Sat down and stitched while watching the parade and then the dog show. Made the tossed salad after that. Dylan came home from work so we took off for my parent's house. Justin was at his friend's house for a few days so he met us there. Had a nice Thanksgiving with my parents , my sis and bil. My dad seemed to be doing a little better while we were there.
Friday- Dylan wanted me to take him and a friend to the mall so after I worked out at Curves, we headed for the mall. Was packed and I did end up with a pretty decent parking spot. He bought Scott's Christmas gift, bought me lunch and the way we were since he had to be at work by 2. Scott was out hunting and Justin had to work 7am-10am and then back to work again from 4pm-7pm. Scott came home and then we went to his parent's for a family get together. In the afternoon I did get a lot of stitching time in on the stocking while watching the DVR shows:
Ghost Whisperer - 11/9
Women's Murder Club - 11/9
Desperate Housewives 11/11
Smallville 11/15
Today is lazy day. Got up and sorted through the laundry for washing. Washed my face with noxzema and decided no makeup today and wearing lazy clothes, t shirt with sweatpants LOL. I am a sight let me say. Scott and Dylan went hunting for the day and Justin had to work at the station 7am-2:30. I washed dishes and vacuumed and have laundry going all day. After checking everything online I will then sit and stitch on stocking and watch DVR shows, almost caught up. I just remembered I have a few episodes of Grey's Anatomy on the VCR as well LOL.
My computer still isnt online so still using Dylan's laptop, and wait til I can post a pic of the progress on the stocking, I have gotten a lot accomplished on it.

November is here
I finished listening to Tara Road by Maeve Binchy and downloaded Nights of Rain and Stars by Maeve Binchy. I will listen to that at work next. I have tons of books in my bookcase and listening to alot of them to free up my bookcase will be great. I am reading A Peach of a Murder by Livia J. Washburn.
I didn't get any cross stitching in today but I am going to organize my stash better. I really need to do that and I would like to change scissors and fobs every month as well as getting more of the pretty mesh bags with fabric. I have 3 so far and would like 9 more so I can change them every month. Yes, I am probably a freak LOL.
I didn't watch any TV today either but I did DVR Smallville and Supernatural and taped Grey's Anatomy.

Stitching away
So much has been going on. I went to the 10th Annual Cross Stitch pals Fall Fling in Myrtle Beach and had a blast. I rode with a couple of friends. Ate to much, not enough sleep and bought some stash :-)
Last week DS#1 got his license so I don't have to drive him around anymore. he bought a car back in June so he has that and doesn't have to use my car.
I have been in a cozy mystery reading marathon for some reason. Right now I am reading A Peach of a Murder by Livia J. Washburn. I also bought a Mp3 player and download audiobooks on it to play at work. Right now I am listening to Tara Road by Maeve Binchy.
Also before I left for Myrtle Beach I started a Proboard for cross stitching, reading and media. Check it out
http://csrmedia.proboards101.com/index.cgi
Been catching up on my DVRd shows and watching the new season shows.
Well time to get read some emails and then go to bed.

Happy Labor Day weekend!
Then we visited with my parents.
Saturday DH and I went to Dansville for the Hot Air Balloon festival. We had a good time. DH bought some fudge, he loves the stuff. I got a cute ghost wind chime, for Halloween, of course :-) They had a stall for Italian Charms. 5 for $10 and I want to make my one watch into Nascar so I bought Nascar girl, #8, #3 , #12 and one that says Daytona. To eat I had a rueben sandwich , which was very good and DH had 2 hamburgers.
Today is DS#1's anniversary with his boyfriend. So DH and I are dropping them off to a nice restaurant and then doing some shopping. I need to also sit and stitch on the model that I have. I did do a little bit yesterday and as soon as I am done here I will work on it some more. Yesterday I also watched Perfect Stranger which I had from Netflix.
Right now I am reading The Cat Who dropped A Bombshell by Lilian jackson Braun.
I do have reading goals and stitching goals for September and I will post that seperatly.
