Yesterday did not go as planned!!

I had planned on going to Curves, workout and then scrapbook with my instructor there. She is doing and album that is a gift for a wedding Friday. I went around the circuit twice since I have a bad cold or sinuses. Then started to help her with the scrapbook. My cell phone starts ringing and I notice the number is for the school. DS#2 has broken his leg and will I come get him. Our ambulance service no longer transports and to wait for the city one would take at least 30 min. Since DH is just up the road from where I was, I went and got him. Get to the school and DS is in tears. Nurse said he turned green and almost was sick. Get him to the ER, they were waiting for us. It is his right leg. He has a fracture on the right side and a torn ligament on the left side. Has pain pills, crutches and pills for the swelling. No cast, just a leg brace. All the nurses just love his eyes. My son seems to attract girls/women of all ages. I take him to school as it was ending, to get work he missed and tons of girls are ooohing and awwing over him. I told him he is a little man whore LOL.Now to tell you what happened. They were playing football in gym and a another boy landed on his leg. I am sure that this other boy feels horrible and I told DS to be nice to him tomorrow.Meanwhile I have been sick and all I wanted to do was sleep. Waiting in the hospital sure is tiring as well, must be the smell of meds. DS is having a fit because he can't work this weekend so no money coming in. Plus we have to wait on him and he really hates that. He is very independent. He is 14 and I can't believe this is his first broken bone. He has always been a little daredevil and expected him to hurt himself many times before now.He is sleeping soundly now and DH will drop him off at school in the morning. He has a key for the elevator, at school and will get help from friends to carry his books and such. I am sure most of them will be girls :-)So no stitching for me or reading a book. I am awake at this hour , almost 3:30am because I went to bed at 8 and guess I got enough sleep. I will go back to bed soon.

BC Snappers is DONE!!!

Woohoo I finished it. All I have to buy is some black snaps for a couple of them. This will be done as a wallhanging and is a Christmas gift.

Von wanted to know since I go to Myrtle Beach a few days earlier than the convention, if I take time for myself. Yes I do. Some years DH goes with me , some years DH and both boys go with me. We make it a vacation for all of us and then when the reunion starts they go off and do things together. But this year and 2 years ago I rode with 3 other women and had a blast. We stop in Tenessee for a night and then in Manning , SC with Amy(owner of Cross Stitch pals) and then head on to the Beach.

Tony Stewart won todays NASCAR race and coasted most of the last lap since he ran out of gas. That was amazing.
Buffalo Bills beat Minnesota, woohoo!!!

Tonight is Desperate Housewives. I will DVR it though as I have to pick up DS#2 from work at 9.
Friday and yesterday I finished up the DVDs season 2 discs 2 & 3 of grey's Anatomy. I have Gilmore Girls season 1 to watch as I borrowed that from DS#1's friend.

productive week

This is how much I have accomplished on BC Snappers as of last Sunday. I need to finish November and then start December. I am hoping to get quite a bit done on it this weekend.
I stitched on Snowy Forest Evening Stocking Tuesday morning - Thursday night and got alot accomplished. The bottom left just has a little bit of backstitching left on it.
I stitched on the Vermillion ornament, from the 2003 JCS ornament Issue. This I did on Monday the 25th in honor of Christmas. Should be done in October. Has a little bit of the beard to fill in then the backstitching.

I also finished reading A Wedding in December by Anita Shreve. it was ok, kind of slow. Now I am reading Cold Blooded by Lisa Jackson. So far it is good.

Have been watching DVD and TV shows. All caught up to Tuesday nights House. On Second season disc 2 of Grey's Anatomy. DS#1 has a friend that owns all seasons of Gilmore Girls and I have never watched that show so I will be borrowing them :-). I get a lot of stitching time in while watching DVDs LOL.

Today I am going to the LNS. I need to buy for a Pals Parcel and for the grab bag in Myrtle Beach. That's right , it is that time of year when I go to Myrtle Beach and have a Cross Stitch Pals reunion. I leave on the 13th and will be back around the 23rd. Taking my laptop so I can check emails and post on my blog.

Playing Cathc Up!

I have been stitching away. I finished a model piece for Twisted Oaks Designs. I am still stitching sports ornaments on Mondays. Stitching on Snowy Forest Evening Stocking Tues-Thurs. BC Snappers Fri-Sun. I am on November Snapper so that has moved right along. I will post pics later.
Watched last season of House and I have 2 episodes from this season to watch and then I am caught up. I am now watching last seasons Grey's Anatomy , on DVD and DVRing this seasons til I am caught up. DS#1 has a friend who owns all the seasons of Gilmore Gilrs and I never watched them so i will be borrowing them and DVRing this seasons. DH told me I should watch Criminal Minds so I will be adding that to my TV viewing this year as well.
This past weekend was the apple Umpkin Festival and my church has beef on weck, soup and pies. I make the soup and made 8 pots total. We had about 1/2 of a beef pot and 1/2 of a turkey pot, left over so we did real well.
I am reading A Wedding In December by Anita Shreve, it is a little slow. Any USA members who love to read and share books please join my Readnswap Yahoo group. We would love new members. This group has been around for several years and i have read many books through the group.
2 weeks ago I ran the book Fair at the middle school and that went over really well. I did buy 2 PC games. Mall Tycoon 3 , which is a blast and Paws & Claws Pet Vet. it is fun as well.

So what does everyone watch on TV? I watch:
Live! with Regis and Kelly
Rachel Ray
The View
Megan Mullolly Show
General Hospital
Oprah
Desperate Housewives
7th heaven
Vanished
Runaway
The Class
House
Standoff
Gilmore Girls(DVRing)
Veronica Mars
Bones
Criminal Minds(Dvring)
Kidnapped
Lost
Grey's Anatomy (DVRing)
Smallville
Supernatural
The O.C.
The Ghost Whisperer

I get more stitching done when the Fall Season starts and I only watch the Talk shows if I have time and if they have something good on it.

a finish

I stitched on BC September Snapper, all weekend and finished it . Was a quiet weekend here. Friday night DH, DS#2 and I went to a local high school football game. Was a very close score. Saturday was lazy. Today went to church and then stitched while watching House season 2 disc 1. I plan on reading more of the Angry Housewives eating Bon Bons, when I get off the computer.

This week will be super busy so not sure how much reading and stitching will get done. I am in charge of the PTO book fair this week so I will be working every day 10-12:30. Tomorrow night I have a bookcrossing meeting. Tuesday night DS#2 and I are going to an Aerosmith concert. Wednesday night is our middle school open house so I am running the book fair during that. Looks like Thursday and Friday night are free, so far LOL. I will need to sleep all next weekend LOL.

Snowy Forest Evening Stocking

Todays progress went well. I would have gotten more done but a friend of mine called me and we were on the phone for 1 1/2 hours. I haven't talked to her in months. I also finished the model piece for Twisted Oaks Designs.
I did get to watch House season 1 Disc 4. Tonight I watched Bones, anyone else watch it? I also read quite a bit of Angry Housewives eating Bon Bons. I plan on reading some more when I get done here.
The kids had a good day at school. DS#2 will be late tomorrow though, as he has a dr. appointment.

Todays Goals:
finish model piece- done
work on Stocking- did
watch House season 1 disc 4 - done
watch Bones - done
read some more Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons - did

First Day of School

The kids went back to school today. DS#1 is a Junior this year. DS#2 is a Freshman. They sure are growing up.
it was nice getting up at 6 am again and getting things done around the house. I had all my emails and bulletin boards read before I headed out the door to Curves, came home and booted up the computer while doing some cleaning. Read all of my friend's blogs and left comments on some.
I have a model to finish, probably about 30 minutes left on it. Then will pull out the stocking to stitch on. I also have season 1 disc 4 of House and disc 5 and 6 will be in the mail today.
Tonight Bones is on so I will also watch that.
Reading Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons by Lorna Landvik and am enjoying that.
I am hoping to post a pic tonight of my stocking progress.

playing catch up again

What can I say, except I have been busy and no time to update blog. I have been Taxi service and DS#1 has had the computer in the evenings. He also was in drivers Ed and just finished that. He passed!! I have been stitching and reading. Watching Tv shows and movies. I am trying harder to update my blog now that school will be here in 2 weeks.

This is how far I have gotten on the snowy Forest evening Stocking. I had to put it away though as I am stitching on a Twisted oaks Designs model piece.

I stitched up LK June Stamp a few weeks ago.
I also went to a Cross stitch retreat. This was for Needleworkers Haven Proboard and it was in Victor NY. About 1 hour from my house. it ran from Friday til Monday and I had a blast. The LNS owner even opened up the shop for us on Sunday , for 2 hours. She is a great lady. She had coffee, tea and cookies for us as well. In the pic is: front-Linda, back: Shelleen Shelley, Ann, Vivian, Glynda and Karen.
We stitched this porcupine as a SAL during the weekend. I did finish him Sunday, while there and I will sew him on the back of the bag that we received at the retreat.
I stitched up another block on Year Full of Happy. it is June's block.
I also stitched up the LK April Block and finished that yesterday.

Today I will be stitching BC July Snapper.

I also have been getting back into reading. Just love books :-) Right now I am reading Cupid Inc by Michele Bardsley. Have only read a couple of pages.

Also getting ready for the new Fall Season on TV. I never watched House or Grey's Anatomy before so I have been getting the DVDs from netflix so I will be caught up to this season. So far i have watched Season 1 of Greys. and am now watching Season 1 of House. Then I will watch Season 2 of House since the new season starts Sept. 5. I will DVR it though til I get all the DVDs watched. Gey's 2nd season comes out mid Sept, on DVD so I will DVR the new season til I get the 2nd season watched. Anyone else a fan of these shows?

Some of you knew that DS#2 has not ben feeling well for a year. He had an upper GI done and he has reflux so is now taking Prilosec and feeling much better. He goes back to see if he is healing, in about 6-8 weeks. He hasn't thrown up in weeks so that is great!

are you a cat or a dog?

You Are: 60% Dog, 40% Cat

You are a nice blend of cat and dog.
You're playful but not too needy. And you're friendly but careful.
And while you have your moody moments, you're too happy to stay upset for long.

2 pics of exchanges

This package is from the Cross Stitch Pals Parcel exchange. Thank you so much , RebeccaMI
This is a Dog Days of Summer exchange through The Exchange Place, thank you so much, CathyB

catching up and lots of pics

I have pics of when I dyed my hair. I wanted a deep burgundy but it came out neon red. This is the day that I did it 12/26/05. My parents called me right afterwards and asked me to come to their house. I forgot to warn them that i did this to my hair. My dad took pics and the quotes under each is what my dad wrote on the back of the pics. Also the tshirt is my 14 year old son's shirt which he thought would go with my hair. I have no idea why this shirt fit me as he is a skinny thing.

" And the next time I'm at that hair dressers!*--!!!!!"

"So I told that bitch I hadn't colored my hair before and this is what I got! "
Snow Forest Evening stocking 7/16/06
"Bad hair day"
This is one of my cats, Rascal. This is pretty much how we find him asleep in the house. Isn't he adorable :-)

Well I have been sitting in an a/c room since we have been in the 90s and humid. Stitching on an exchange, watching TV and readin the last 3 books of J.D. Robb's In Death books.

DS#1 has started Drivers Ed. He has class Mon-Thur 8am-9. Then drives Mon & Wed 11am-1pm. DS#2 is working at the gas station so I have had to drive him as well. This is a busy summer. We had a graduation party last Saturday, congrats to Tanya. This Saturday is a pig roast with family. I have a cousin getting married this saturday. The wedding is taking place in Colorado. Alot of the family members are going but there is a few of us that can't make it. So congrats to Dennis and Cheri :-)

Catching up

Ok I had just posted alot and clicked on spell check and it erased everything :-(
So here goes again.
I don't know where time goes. I was sick last week. 2 days I had the flu and the rest of the week had sinuses/allergie issues. Plus it had been so darn hot to be on the computer that all I did was read emails.
My model stitching is slowing down so I have more time for my WIPs and UFO. Right now I am stitching on Snowy Forest Evening Stocking on Tues-Fridays. Mondays is ornament day and the weekends for other things.

SBQ:
What is the biggest mishap you have had with your stitching material(i.e. spillages)?
The only time that I had a problem was when stitching a kit and they didn't give me much for extra material on the sides for framing. I don't eat when stitching and when drinking something I set the material aside.

SBQ

Have you ever used a magnifying glass while stitching? If so, did youfind it helpful?
I bought one that you hang from your neck. I could not use it all. Was to confusing for me LOL.

First I want to say a big thank you to those who read my blog and leave comments. it is nice to know that people are reading my blog. I haven't said thank you in a long time :-)

DS#2 had his lasy baseball game last night so sports is now over til the fall. DS#1 plays soccer in the fall.

DS#1 got his learners permit the end of March. he drove and hated it. Well last week he gave it another shot and liked it much better, thank god. he has signed up for drivers ed this summer so i will be busy driving him to school every morning. I will have to post my June Golas and what I accomplished in May. DS#1 is all done with Track and DS#2 had his last baseball game on Monday but has 3 makeup games. One is tonight. We were told they might not make up the other 2. I have been wacthing alot of netflix movies in the afternoons and some evenings. Our local library now has wireless, which my son is excited as he has a laptop. I am still on dial up but I am going to the library, to use their computers , every day. This is just taking me way to long. I will read my Juno emails and do my blog, every morning on my computer.
I won a gift certificate for a hair wash, cut and style so I have an appointment at 11:30 for that and the library opens at 1 so I will go there right after that.
Below are some pics of what i have been doing.
