January ornament

I started this last weekend and finished it today. it is Santa's On His Way. It is by Rosie & Co. and from the JCS 2003 Christmas issue.

Christmas Angel progress

I stitched on her face tonight, while watching Lost and General Hospital.
I started to listen to Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer. I am hooked on the series now.

I have some good news but I am going to make you wait and read my progresses first. Now stop groaning and no you better not be scrolling down to read it. I knew you would, you just can't resist. LOL


Last Thursday I pulled out Night Before Christmas and worked on Santa in chimney. I just need to do the backstitching on it. That will get done tomorrow night.
LK Hoppy Easter is finished. Well not the way the chart shows it. I did this for my RR with the Belle's. My RR is Easter. I am using 2 pieces of fabric. 1 is for a bellpull and the other piece will be for a pillow.
Then Sunday I finished Brittercup's Trick or Kitty Treat. The pic came out darl but I think it is cute.
Monday night I stitched on Rocky Mountain Christmas by Marty Bell. I started this many years ago and love the piece but the changing of colors all the time is as bad as a TW.
Last night I stitched on Mirabilia's Winter Queen. I finished the 1 section, that was my goal. I can't wait to stitch on her again.

I am also thinking of changing my rotation. Quilt Sampler and Night Before Christmas are 2 SALs with 2 different groups and Quilt sampler is supposed to be done in February as part of an incentive. I do enjoy stitching on them. So I was thinking for february to stitch one week on the Quilt and then another week on Night Before Christmas and alternate the weeks. Then go back to daily rotations in March.
I started an ornament - JCS 2003 issue- Rosie & Co. - Santa's on His Way. I will finish it this weekend.

I finished the aaudiobook New Moon by Stephenie Meyer and I enjoyed it very much. I will be starting Eclipse, tonight.
We have been getting a lot of snow. We have been in snow warning from 10pm last night until 1am Thursday morning with a foot of snow when done. Roads have been horrible but schools didn't close because of state mid terms.

Ok so now for the good news. Are you ready?
JUSTIN DS#1 is on the Dean's List at college. I am so thrilled for him and so proud. We got the letter in the mail yesterday and he happened to be home. I handed him his mail and he opened it and the surprise and grin on his face was priceless. He started giggling and told me what it said. Way to go Justin!!!!!

Wednesday Rotation

I stitched on this today. Have this whole 1/4 section done except for the holly and beads. I will add them when i am all done cross stitching this piece. it is Christmas Angel by Joan Elliott from The Cross Stitcher December 1996 issue.

Season Premier of Lost was on tonight and it was good to see it back. I sure did miss it.

I listened to quite a bit of New Moon by Stephenie Meyer. Came home and charged my MP3 player so it is ready for tomorrow.

Tuesdays Rotation

I stitched on this during the evening. Mirabilia's Winter Queen. I love stitching on her.

Work was slow the past 2 days. We have to rely on mail for work. Well no one picked up Saturdays mail and the PO was closed on Monday so we had 7 samples to work with and I left work at noon. Today we only had 30 and I was done by noon so I left at 12:30. I wasn't feeling good anyways so I caught up on emails and BBs , picked up Dylan's girlfriend and then took a nap for 1-2 hours. I am feeling better now. I watched last week's and tonight's episodes of 90210 and wanted to watch General Hospital that I thought had DVRd only to find out that the soaps were not on. Bummer as it was getting good. I don't get into all the hoopla of the inauguration, sorry if it offends anyone. This country has money problems and to spend it all on that just was upsetting to me. My opinion and I am entitled to it :-)

Friday night I stitched on TW The Storyteller. This was my Friday SAT with Let's Stitch blog and Stitching Sisters Yahoo group.
Today I stitched a little bit on my Halloween piece, Brittercup's Trick or Kitty Treat. I was hoping to finish it today but was playing on the computer today.

Saturday I went to a party at my mom's house. it was a Tastefully Simple party and I love their products. They have spices and dips and all kinds of good things. So I booked a party and having it with Shelbi, DS#2's girlfriend. She went with me and loved it. I didn't get in any stitching time on Saturday.
What else went on this weekend, hmm. Oh yeah I now own the movie Mamma Mia. My mom recieved 2 copies for Christmas and she didn't want the widescreen version that my dad gave her so I now own it. The temps have gone up today, woohoo!! it is 10:30 pm and 17F. Still cold but much more bearable than it had been.
I got caught up on General Hospital , watched 4 episodes today. I didn't get a chance to listen to New Moon by Stephenie Meyer, this weekend. I did start it on Thursday at work but that was it. Hoping to get most of it listened to this week.

all that leave comments and those that just read my blog. I have been really tired this week, after work, so not much getting done. I am working on a RR right now and am hoping to finish that tomorrow night. The weather here has been nasty. Snow and winds making things difficult. Today was a high of 10F and tomorrow around -2 and wind chills of -20. Plus more snow tonight. 4"-6" of new snow, yuck!!
I am FINALLY caught up on everyones blogs. I haven't had a chance to just sit and read them for almost 3 weeks now. But I got through all of them and even left some comments.
Laurie, the snowman pillow that i did was a long time ago but I do believe it is called Snow and is by Bent Creek. It was a fun stitch.
I keep seeing SALs that others are doing and I really want to join in but I promised myself no new stash til 25 projects are stitched and finished. I am breaking that rule for the new LK Halloween Flip Its. Yes, I am naughty sometimes. I really would love to join in on the Peppermint Twist that everyone is doing but I really don't want to start something else either. Oh decisions, decisions. Guess I will sit it out. I have so much stash already kitted up that i really want to start soon.
Well I finished my glass of wine and reading blogs so time to go to bed.

Saturday I stitched on the Quilt Sampler. It is moving along slowly. I also finished listening to Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. Even though I did enjoy it and am listening to the whole series I do not see what all the hype was about.
Today I pulled out Just Nan's Batty Jack and finished him. He is so cute.
Then I started Brittercup Designs Trick or Kitty Treat. This was also from JCS October 2008 issue.

Today I watched Mama Mia and just loved it. I want to buy it now.
I also watched shows on the DVR:
Thursdays and Fridays General Hospital, which is getting good. I also watched The Barbara Walters special with Patrick Swayze. I also heard today that he was taken to the hospital for pnemonia.
I started listening to New Moon by Stephenie Meyer.
Oh yeah and I watched 24 tonight.

Then last night I did the Friday night SAT with the Let's Stitch blog and I stitched on TW The Storyteller.

Today is a SAT with Only One Ewe BB so I will do the little bit of backstitching on The Storyteller and then stitch on Quilt Sampler.

I have been listening to Twilight and enjoying that. I have the next 3 on audiobook as well.
Another storm is on the way starting anytime and we will get 4-6 inches of snow, yuck!! So a nice day to sit and stitch and drink some wine :-)

I stitched last night on Mirabilia's Winter Queen while watching General Hospital and then 90210. I got a little bit done on her.
Tonight I stitched on The Cross Stitcher Christmas Angel. I loved working on her.

I have been listening to the audiobook of Twilight and I love it. I have New Moon and Breaking Dawn sitting here as well. I will listen to them in order.

The weather here has been crazy. We got freezing rain, sleet and then rain which lead to a bad commute this morning. Scott took me into work. Right now Scott just got to work and he called and said that the roads are worse tonight than they were last night. We are getting snow tonight and tomorrow and have a weather advisory until 5 tomorrow. I think maybe Scott will be taking me to work tomorrow as well.

I am trying to get caught up on blogs as I had taken over a week off because of the holidays. I also want to thank all of you who have been visiting my blog and for those that have taken the time to leave a comment. I knpow how much time that takes as I have been reading a ton of other bloggers posts and haven't been posting many comments.

another start

I am stitching a Halloween piece. It is Batty Jack by Just Nan out of the JCS Premiere Halloween Issue. I will add another color tomorrow night and then move onto Rocky Mountain Christmas which is my Monday stitching piece.

I stitched while watching the 2 hour episode of 24. I am so glad to see that it is back this season.

FAL pics and a WIP

I did get to stitch a little last week and I work on Twas The Night Before Christmas by Little Old Me Designs. I have this in my rotation for Thursdays.

I finished 18 projects. Can you believe it? 2 I can't show as they are for exchanges. I also didn't start til early evening Saturday and finished around 6:30 tonight. Yes I did sleep last night and went to bed around 11:00. Some of these pieces I stitched in 2000 so it was good to see them and since some say Winter, snow or have snowmen on them they will stay out til Spring. Some will get put away for Christmas gifts this year. I know a family member who will love the one little pillow that has a bird on it. The canvas bag was from a stitching retreat that i went on in 2006 and we did a SAL of the porcupine and I fused that to the bag. Now I can't wait til next month's FAL. The only thing I hate is not having a craft room so I have to put everything away and then pull it all back out again next time. I am so glad that I have a huge family room that I can set up a TV tray, 6 ft table and a card table and still have room to walk around in here. So who wants to join me next month? The dates for all of this years FALs are in the sidebar.

FAL weekend

This weekend I am doing as many finishes as possible. I have a table set up with the iron and I have ironed everything that needs it. Now my pieces are all set up in groups, stuffed ornaments, pillows, Needlerolls, cubes, flat ornaments. Another table is set up with fabric , ribbon and felt.
Anyone else want to join in?
I will put a FAL weekend in the sidebar of dates every month so you all know when I plan on doing them.

I haven't been stitching much as Christmas was approaching. Christmas Eve, Scott , Justin, Dylan and I baked cookies and watched Christmas shows. We had a lot of fun. Justin had to work Christmas morning from 7-10 but his replacement did not show up til after 11. So the rest of us ate breakfast since we were hungry. Justin got home and then we unwrapped gifts. Scott and Dylan bought me a beautiful fairie figurine. Scott also bought me a GC for The Body Shop and Dylan got me a GC for Yankee Candle. Justin got me a GC for the Body Shop. Then we headed to my parent's house. My sister was there as well. We ate too much and I drank too much lol. My parent's bought me a beautiful silver necklace with diamonds. My sister bought me skull candy(headphones) that were on my wish list. Yesterday I went and spent my GCs and got 3 different fragrances at The Body Shop. Then at Yankee Candle I got a tart burner. I already had one but it for Halloween and I wanted one for everyday. Then onto the Calendar store. I bought a Fairie calendar and then a small one with cat naps, soo cute. I use this for monthly budgeting and paying bills.
Oh yeah we had high winds really bad on Christmas Eve and when I woke up Christmas morning I let the dog out and our shed had blown right down, nothing left to it. I have to take pics tomorrow and am hoping nothing was ruined that was inside. There are a couple of bikes, our riding lawn mower and our snow blower. So we have to remove the debris and take pics of what was ruined.
Today we celebrated Christmas with Scott's side. it was nice. I had made different cross stitch pieces for the family members. We each recieved money from Scott's parents. The other family members didn't exchange. I knew that but still wanted to give them something. So this week I want to got to Joanne's with my money and get the styrofoam burning tool that they have for the cubes. I also received a GC for walmart from my boss. I did use a little of that to buy new cookie sheets for Christmas Eve.
I finished listening to The Winding Ways Quilt by Jennifer Chiaverini and am getting ready to listen to Wicked by Philip Margolin. Then I have Twilight and New Moon on audio.
I am stitching Christmas Day Play by Lynn's Prints from the JCS 2003 issue. I stitched a litrle bit on that tonight while watching Nora Roberts' Montana Sky that was on Lifetime and I had on the DVR. Since my shows aren't on this week I am hoping to get the rest of the movies watched on the DVR. I have 9 movies left and 1 dog show from Thanksgiving. When I started 2 months ago clearing what was up on my DVR I only had about 10 hours left on the DVR and I now have around 78 hours left. A lot of my TV shows are being moved around and some coming back midseason so it will get used a lot again.
Well I need to get to bed. I just wanted to post and let you know we survived the snow storms and we had over a foot of snow but the last couple of days have been in the 50s and 60s so not a spot of snow is left and flooding has begun. Supposed to be cold all week and chances of snow again.

Looking for

any Halloween SAL blogs or Yahoo groups. I have searched but didn't find anything. Anyone know of any?

weather pics and stitching

This is what my yard looked like on Friday at 4pm. My little car was getting buried and is still buried even more. Scott had to plow at the station and he couldn't keep up with it so he was there all day. Justin came home from work at 7pm and pulled slowly into the driveway and ended up in the yard lol. They shoveled him out. Then Saturday morning Justin went to work and he couldn't get his car out. a neighbor plowed the end of our driveway so he could get out. Then later on another neighbor used his snow blower in our driveway and sidewalk. We have a snowblower but something is wrong with it, I think Scott said a bearing. So yesterday I stitched on my quilt sampler and got a small section of it worked on. I watched 3 movies: Sex & The City, Premonition, and Christmas in Wonderland.
Today has been snowing and so windy that you can't see some times. Scott worked til 2 and then took me to the grocery store. The snow is still falling and parts of our road have high snow drifts. I hope that the plows keep them down so Justin can get home.
The rest of the evening will be laundry , stitching and listening to The Winding Way Quilt by Jennifer Chiaverini.
Today I am stitching a snowman ornament. I should be able to finish it as well.

Snowy day

The day started clear and Scott took me to work since we knew the storm was coming. We got to work at 8:00 and him and Dylan took off for the Rez to get cigarettes. Schools had already closed all around us for the oncoming storm. Well I got a txt message that they didn't make it to the Rez. Within 30 minutes the roads were already dicey and they saw a car flipped over. My supervisor decided to close the lab so Scott picked me up. Got home and did a little straightening up. Got caught up on blog reading and started stitching The Storyteller with the Let's Stitch blog. I managed to finish stitching up one section with the backstitching and then stitched up another section. This is my Friday piece in rotation.
I also took pics of the storm but need to upload them onto my computer. My car is pretty buried out there. Justin actually came home around 7:30 from work and slid right into the yard.
