If you love cats and romance then this book is up your alley.

When Ben and Kara first meet there is tension. Both have a lot of baggage from a previous relationship.
I liked all the characters in this book. My heart went out to Kara for what her ex had done to her and her life.
Ben's brother I could not forgive no matter how much I wanted to. For Ben's mom to play a guilt cards throughout this book and not really see Ben's side just irritated me.
I wanted to adopt all the cats mentioned in this book and I would stop in a cafe like this just have a cup of tea , a book and a room to play with cats/kittens sounds like heaven.
Ben was not a cat person and he ended up finding a kitten in his house that he was renovating. He was hoping Kara would take the kitten and find a home for him.

In the distance, Vasilisa caught the faint sound of air moving through labored lungs. There he was. She had him now. She waited until she was positively certain that this was the man she was connected to. Her man. The man whose soul she guarded so carefully. She began to match that labored breathing, allowing her lungs to take on the same ragged gasps struggling for air. Once they were in perfect sync, she began to even the two of them out slowly. He became aware of her instantly.

He went from near unconsciousness to his mind on complete alert. She felt him pushing into her mind, and he was extremely strong. Like a battering ram. A tidal wave.

Be careful, she cautioned. There are others who might overhear if you aren’t cautious. How badly are you injured?

He didn’t withdraw from her, but he remained silent as though thinking whether or not he was going to answer her. You are?

She sighed. She should have known he would ask. There was no getting around this. Vasilisa Sidkorolyavolkva. And you?

I am called Afanasiv Belan. Or Siv for short. The daughter of the royal wolf, he mused. Are you aware of what you are to me?

Vasilisa didn’t know if it was because they were speaking telepathically to one another that his voice stroked and caressed like a deep, husky velvet brush. Soft. Gentle. He sounded as if he belonged to the night, just as she did. She only knew it was one of the most sensual experiences of her life.

She felt him heave a tremendous sigh. It was there in his mind. She might have found humor in the situation, but there was something else she caught a glimmer of—the smallest of scars, although its thickness gave her pause. That thick scar wasn’t actually in his mind, he’d been thinking of it in some conjunction with him. Sorrow had been instantly overwhelming.

the 36th book of a series.

Afanasiv Belan is a Carpathian, an ancient one. In all the centuries of his existence, no one has ever affected him like Vasilisa.
But if they claim each other as lifemates, it will change them down to the bone.
I really enjoyed getting to know these 2 and even though a lot was going on in the book and a lotm of other characters I didn't get lost. I thought with it being the 36th book of the series and not reading them all that I would have a hard time but it felt like a standalone.
You could feel that there was something there between these 2 right from the beginning when they met.

The Road to Christmas: A Novel by Sheila Roberts

What a heartwarming book.
Michelle and Max are getting divorced but not going to tell their adullt children until after the holidays. Their youngest daughter Julia wants the family to travel to where she lives, in Idaho, for Christmas.
Their other daughters, Audrey and Shyla, are driving up from California.
The ones with the shortest drive are Grandma and Grandpa, Hazel and Warren.
Michelle and Max have a long ride ahead of them since they have a a lot of anger and hurt between them. Then they run into snow which shuts down roads and they have to share a room together.
Audrey and Shyla get a flat tire in the middle of nowhere and no cell service hoping for someone to stop and help them.
Hazel hates traveling in the snow but warren says they will be fine. But you know how that usually works out.
What happens to all of them during this trip seems to be for the good. You start rooting for all of them and your heart hurts and feels good for them all at the same time.

Captive by Iris Johansen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the 29th book of the Eve Duncan series. Focused on Eve's daughter Jane and her partner Seth Caleb.
Seth works for a M16 Intelligence Service and hired to take out a ruthless madman, Bohdan.
Jane goes to Scotland to be safe and uncovers a past and some art that she wants to know more of. Her life and Caleb's are in danger and no matter where they go they seem to be hunted.
You can feel the love between Caleb and Jane and what they do for each other even when they are mad at each other. How far reaching Bohdan has and what he won't do to find them
I look forwards to more in this series.

HOT!! Very erotic! Can you say smoking?
3 male vampires and 1 female, half human and half vampire. Mina's father is in charge of a vampire community and he rules it with an iron fist. Not a nice man at all. He sent Mina to Malachi to get pregnant.
Malachi is not a vampire to be trifled with. He rules with an iron fist and has a reputation for the darkest of sins. But the longer Mina spends with him, the more she realizes he's not the monster she first thought—and as fear bleeds into lust, then trust, then something more, Malachi opens Mina up to a world she never knew could be hers for the taking: including the love of Malachi's two closest friends and companions. we meet Wolf and Rylan, who are part of Malachi's past and old vampires. When these 4 form a bond then a whole slew of things happen.
When I first started this book I didn't thhink I would like it as much as I did. The writing was great and the storyline sucked me in.
This is not for the faint of heart. A lot of sex with all 4, swearing and rude comments. But it makes this story work.

As a psychologist specializing in domestic abuse, Naomi has found it hard to not become overly invested in her clients’ lives. That's where her troubles start.
Jacob Is a client of hers who is being abused by his wife and needs help. Naomi just can't seem to listen to her husband, Leon, when he says keep everything professional. Naomi helps Jacob outside of her office and that's when things go bad.
Anna is also a client of Naomi's and abused by her husband after a year of grief , of losing their son.
Naomi's family was torn apart as a child, she saw her father kill her mother after years of abuse. Her and her sister were put into foster care and they were seperated. Now her dad is released from jail and her sister is reaching out to her.
I really liked this book and would have loved it but when Naomi is questioned about a lot of things she decides to lie and cover things up. If she had sat down ad told the whole story things might have been much better for her. Especially with her husband. I read it in 1 day because I could not stop reading. I had to know what was going on and was I surprised.

Tom, Beth and their daughter, Julie, live in NYC and Tom does not like living there anymore or his life. He wants them all to move to Fishtail, Montana. Beth is all for the fast life and thinks he needs to grow up. They decide to divorce and Tom moves to Montana. It's a simpler more laid back life and he loves it there.
When Juliet comes to visit him for a few weeks, she also loves it and makes fast friends.
Anne and Pitt Pollock, local royalty, high school sweethearts, and owners of the successful Pollock ranch.

Wow! For young teenagers they are very smart and have to learn to survive. The whole community comes together to find the kids. I sat and read this as fast as I could since I wanted to know if they were all going to make it.

Abigail and Jo have been best friends since high school. Even when Abigail made a mistake that hurt Jo. Jo is godmother to Abigail's son, Robbie. They are always there for each other.
Abigail's son just moved away to college and things have been over for Abigail and Cal, Robbie's father, for quite some time.
Abi now has a new boyfriend but is it as it seems? Jo is wanting Cal's friend Tom and thinks maybe there could be something between them.
But then someone starts targeting Abi and Jo. Leaving things at both of their doorsteps. Who would want to hurt both of them? It seems that 2 women they went to school with are in town and one was the mean girl from high school.
Just when I thought I had an idea what was going on then something would happen to change my mind.

The Last Lie Told by Debra Webb

This is the first book of a series and I will definately want to read the rest when they come out.
Finley is a Legal Investigator whose husband was killed. As she is trying to figure out who killed him she is investigating a murder of a man who had twin daughters. The man who is behind bars for the murder is now recanting his story.
Finley has so much going on. Her mother is a judge and is not close to her. The Judge, as Finley calls her, is cold and standoffish and Finley can't seem to do anything right in her eyes. Finley's dad is the opposite and is always there for her.
We keep finding out things about Finley's husband and as we read and get near the end of the book we still have questions, which is what I am assuming the rest of the series will be based on.
The twin daughters are very opposite each other, one is living with their mom and is an introvert, very different than before her dad was killed. The other twin left town to move on with her life. But I was trying to figure out who is really who they say they are.
Meanwhile Finley is questioning another woman which also opens up another can of worms.
By the time I got to the end of the book I had thought I had things figured out and then bam, we are hit with a twist.

This book grabbed me from the beginning and read it all in 1 sitting. As we find out what has happened 2 years ago I had an idea what had happened and maybe who had done what. I felt really bad for Liv as she would forget everything every time she woke up.

This is book #14 of the Michael Bennett series.
NYPD master homicide investigator Michael Bennett and top FBI abduction specialist Emily Parker have a history.
Emily fails to show up at FBI Headquarters which worries Michael and on top of that he has a missed call from her and she is not answering her phone. So he goes outside his jurisdiction to go find her.
I have not read the other books in the series but they are on my TBR.
Michael and his wife had just gotten married and raising Michael's 10 adopted kids. I really cant wait to read more of this series to find out why he had adopted 10 kids.
He also investigates , no matter, what until he gets answers. Even if it pisses off people and he gets physically hurt in the process.

I did not think I would like this book as much as I did. I ended up loving it and the mystery of a city under water and a curse of a mask.

Rafael's aunt wants their help and Rafael's family is very rich and can make things happen so Ari and Jason are hired to find the mask and the Ys
Then another death happens which makes them have more questions. As Ari and Rafael get closer and things start happening. This which cant be real but are. Who is Gwen and Laure and what do they have to do with all of this? We know Laure is Rafael's sister but I didn't trust her. I trusted Gwen even less.

I found this full of 2 mysteries that I just could not help wondering who, what and why?

I Let You Fall by Sara Downing
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I could not put this down. I read it all in 1 day.
Eve Chapman had an accident and is in a coma. She can hear her family and friends but can not speak back. Eva also is above her bed in spirit and can't figure out what is going on.
Then she meets Luca, who also is in a coma. He helps her cope with what is going on.
The intensity of this book and what goes on with these 2 and what they have to do was just so heart warming, I had all the feels all rolled up into these pages.
You meet families who are going through rough times and spend a lot of time at the hospital.
I received this book from the publisher for review. Now I want to read more of this author's books.
