Book Review: Kindred In Death by J.D. Robb

Kindred in Death (In Death, #29)When the newly promoted captain of the NYPSD and his wife return a day early from their vacation, they were looking forward to spending time with their bright and vivacious sixteen-year-old daughter who had stayed behind.

Not even their worst nightmares could have prepared them for the crime scene that awaited them instead. Brutally murdered in her bedroom, Deena's body showed signs of trauma that horrified even the toughest of cops; including our own Lieutenant Eve Dallas, who was specifically requested by the captain to investigate.

When the evidence starts to pile up, Dallas and her team think they are about to arrest their perpetrator; little do they know yet that someone has gone to great lengths to tease and taunt them by using a variety of identities. Overconfidence can lead to careless mistakes. But for Dallas, one mistake might be all she needs to bring justice.

                           MY THOUGHTS:

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Another great book for the series. As Eve is supposed to be getting ready for her friend's wedding another murder pops up. This is a 16 year old who is brutally murdered in her bedroom. Her parents came home early from vacation and found her. You could feel the grief of these parents and the book goes into detail of her rape and murder. It makes you want to reach through the book and hold the parents. The murderer is very clever and seems to have many identities which makes it hard to catch him. But Eve never gives up and as a hard nosed bitch of a cop she lets no one and nothing get to her. Also the sex between her husband makes the pages sizzle. No matter how tired or how mad they are their love seems to hold them up.
