when Vanessa gets to town and works with the people in Fraser Hills she doesn't think the plant needs to close and there is enough of a warehouse that can be used for what her company wants without having to close the plant but her boss says no, shut it down or else.
Vanessa has gotten to know Mike's daughter and grandfather not even realizing they are all related.
Great town to live in and they all watch out for each other.

Once Upon a Cowboy Christmas by Soraya M. Lane
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Cody Ford left his family ranch and never looked back. He is now a wall street businessman and loves the city life. Cody comes home for Christmas and his dad has cancer and probably not a lot of time left. Cody had left home when his mom had been diagnosed with cancer and he couldn't bear to see her be sick and die. When he gets to the ranch he runs into an old flame, who happens to be his dad's nurse. He had broken her heart when he had upped and left many years ago without even saying goodbye. Now she is a single mom and she is still in love with him but doesn't trust him and he doesn't want to have a relationship because he is married to his job.
Watching Cody with his brother, sisters and dad makes you want to slap him sometimes and you know he has feelings for Lexi but is fighting them as he has his job and wants to stay in the city.
I enjoyed how Cody would do things for his dad to get him moving and motivated and to enjoy things while he still can.

Carter and Emery have been rivals all throughout school. Then they led their own lives and Carter became a chef and owns his own restaurant. Emery becomes entangled in her ex fiances scandal and needs to get away. Emery is confronted by Carter's mom that she has a perfect place for her to go to and to work with Carter on a cookbook for charity.
These 2 together rub each other the wrong way and the competition is still there between them. But Carter has her back and when Papparazzi finds out where Emery is then Carter is there for her.
Emily's parents are all on her ex's side and they think she should stand by him. Carter is trying to prove something for his deceased father.
Emily loves food but really isnot a cook so when Carter starts cooking all these amazing dishes for her then she is in love.

Excerpt

She motioned to the table. “Let’s eat!”

He joined her and found it hard to focus on the food in front of him—he was still in awe of the transformation of the house. “I can’t believe you pulled this off.”

She smiled and picked up her burger. “I’m extremely organized and efficient. In other words, I had a plan.”

Picking up his own burger, he looked at her and saw how pleased she was, unsure if it was because of a job well-done or the greasy treat she was eating. His stomach growled, and he needed to ignore how unhealthy the meal was and just…go for it. “Well, color me impressed,” he said, referring to her, but realized it could also have meant the meal.

It was surprisingly good.

And satisfying.

When neither had spoken for several minutes because they were too busy eating, Emery leaned over and said, “Welcome to the Dark Side. We have empty calories.”

Carter almost choked on his food but managed to swallow it down before reaching for his drink. Her sense of humor was something he was finding to be utterly charming.

Add that to the list.

There was no time to dwell on it, however, because he was almost done with his burger and was seriously enjoying it.

Now that deserved some dwelling.

“Admit it,” Emery said from beside him, leaning back in her chair. “You enjoyed it.”

“Never.”

She laughed, husky and sexy, and…he seriously needed a distraction.

Reaching over, she looked in the second bag and then gave him a knowing glance. “Who are these chicken nuggets for?”

“Oh, um… I thought you might like them,” he said, not wanting to look at her. Carter busied himself with finishing his fries—which were salted to perfection.

“Hmm. I don’t know if I could eat them right now.” He heard her rummaging around in the bag again. “And what about this? Is this some sort of apple pie?”

Busted!

“Maybe.”

She laughed again—loud and hearty. “Carter Montgomery, you better admit right now that you bought all of this for you because you remember what it’s like to eat like a normal person!”

He lost the battle with his own laughter. “I will do no such thing.”

Standing, Emery took the bag with the extra food and made her way across the kitchen. “Well then, as much as I appreciate the thought, I’m way too full to eat another bite, so…I’ll just throw this out.”

“Wait…what?” he cried, coming to his feet. “Why would you do that?”

With a careless shrug, she replied, “These things never reheat well, so it’s pointless to save it. Besides, what do you care? I can give you the five bucks they cost you, if you’d like.” The bag was dangling over the trash pail, and the look on her face was full of challenge.

And amusement.

“Emery,” he began as he took a step toward her. “Just…put the bag down.”

“And nobody gets hurt?” she teased before letting out a very feminine giggle.

Deciding to stall, Carter studied her. “I just hate to see food go to waste.”

“All you have to do is admit you got it for you. Just say the words and I’ll put the food back on the table.” She shook the bag for good measure. “Come on. I dare you.”

Those were fighting words.

Before he could question it, he lunged for her and Emery let out a high-pitched squeal before taking off around the kitchen island. By their third time around, Carter caught her around the waist and spun her while she cried out, “Uncle! Uncle!” They were both laughing hysterically by the time he collapsed back in his chair with her in his lap. It took several minutes for them to calm down.

“Man, you just cannot stand to be proven wrong,” she said, but made no attempt to move from the circle of his arms.

This was dangerous territory. He knew that. It felt far too good to hold her. Turning his head, he inhaled the smell of her shampoo, daring to lean in further until his lips were touching her ear.

Softly, he murmured, “Just give me the apple pie, and nobody gets hurt.”

It was meant to be funny—a small joke to go along with all the teasing they’d been doing—but it didn’t feel so funny when Emery let out a low moan at his words.

“Make me,” she whispered, and—holy crap. It was all Carter could do not to haul her over his shoulder and take her inside to his bedroom.

Her name came out as a plea as Carter ran his tongue along the shell of her ear. Emery trembled in his arms as they tightened around her. The bag fell to the floor and she shifted ever so slightly so they were nose to nose. Then it was her turn to sigh his name. Her hand came up and cupped his cheek, and for a moment, he was afraid to move. Afraid to breathe. He didn’t want to risk doing anything to break the spell or ruin the moment.

It would kill him.

Reaching up, he mimicked her pose by cupping her cheek. He owed it to her to be honest.

“This isn’t about making either of us stop talking,” he said gruffly. “This is about me kissing you because I have to.”

Slowly, Emery licked her lips. “Good.”

It was as if everything happened in slow motion from there—like they were being drawn together by forces beyond their control, and when their lips touched, they both sighed and eased into it.

All Carter could think was how this was possibly his sweetest victory ever with Emery—knowing she wanted his kiss just as much as he needed to kiss her.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Another great novella for the Christmas, Colorado series. Less than 100 pages so it was a quick read.
Charlotte came to this town to work at the hospital. Now her boss wants her to close it and gives her an ultimatum. Dr. Matt Trainer along with all the staff does not want to lose their jobs and want to help her find a way to keep it open. The staff is mad at her and they don't realize the position she has been put in. Things heat up between these 2 but she wants to go back to NY, where she cane from and the job she was promised.
Charlotte's ex is a sleaze ball and he deserved to lose everything for what he did but Charlotte was the one who paid the price and now her father as well. Will the board that runs her family business see exactly what kind of a person her ex is. Can Charlotte and Matt make things work between them even if she moves back to NY?

My thoughts:
Saffy's sister calls her and asks if Saffy can take over The Christmas Party that Hannah and her husband have every year for the single parents in the area. Hannah and her husband along with their twins were away when the kids became ill. Then they couldn't make it home when they wanted to because of the weather. But her neighbor Logan will help Saffy, all she has to do is ask. Logan had heard so much about Saffy from her sister that he doesn't have much use for her. He is raising his daughter on his own since her mom left her when she was a baby. So Logan sees Saffry as a career minded woman and no time for anyone. As that is going on Saffy's best friends had split up and one of them came to help her get ready for the Christmas party. 
I loved getting to know Logan and his daughter Chloe. While reading this you knew that there would be a connection between Logan and Saffy but they both fight their feelings. Will they finally tell each other how they feel and will Saffy now find time to spend with her family? Time will only tell.

My Thoughts: 4 Stars 

I love holiday romance books and Halloween is my favorite time of year so combining all this with paranormal is just my cup of tea. This is a novella for a series but you don' need to read the series to enjoy this or the characters. Also with only 125 pages it is a quick read. You learn a little bit about the characters and their life with also some mystery and paranormal thrown in. This is the 2nd novella I have read for this series and this did not disappoint me at all. I will look forward to more of these books.

I always have loved how Debbie wants you to live in the towns of her books and to be friends with her characters. This book was no different. When I first started this book the way that Palmer had started I thought he was mentally challenged. But then just realized he was tongue tied. Also not sure how to have feelings. Also Jack drove me up the wall with thinking it is ok to intrude himself into every ones lives and not even think anything of it.

My thoughts: I loved this book. Ethan and Wendy still love each other from 12 years ago and never got over the hurt from that time. But they fight it as much as possible. They both claim they hate each other and were hurt to much to be friends. This was a fun Christmas story with a little sex thrown in.

When Lily and Josh are thrown together, it’s clear they couldn’t be more different. But they begin to realise that opposites can attract – and sometimes when you’re not looking for love, it comes and finds you when you least expect it. With some festive magic, will they manage to work together and save the day?

My thoughts: The characters were fun and I enjoyed getting to know them. The town was so cute and everyone helping each other out. Lily was raised by her dad and her 2 brothers. Her mom had run out on them when Lily was a baby. Now all of a sudden she wants to meet lily. Josh is the kind of guy who never settles anywheres and his career is photography, which his parents hate. They want him to be a doctor like his brother. Watching Lily and Josh interact and pull the best features from each other to show they can be who and what they want.
