blogging again

I am catching up ,on Dylan's laptop. Made comments on several of my blogging friend's blogs. DH has my computer back online and with it being dial up, I will still use Dylan's laptop quite a bit. BUT I will start posting pics to my blog, now that my computer is back online:-)
The past few days I have been stitching , reading and watching Netflix DVDs.
Stitching on Joy Tree Ornament by M Designs.
Reading Sweet Revenge by Diane Mott Davidson , which is really good.
Watched Griffin & Phoenix, which was awesome. Carolina Moon, based on a Nora Roberts book and was really good ,and Tara Road based on a book by Maeve Binchy, which was good. I have Santa Clause 3 sitting here for today. Look for cross stitch pics this week :-)

This & That

How was everyones Christmas? Mine started on Sunday with Scott's side. We didn't exchange gifts except for his parents. I received cash from them. They give cash to everyone because it is easier for them :-)
Monday my family got together with my sis and BIL at my parent's house. I received 3 Racheal Ray frying pans and the DVD collection Christmas Televison Favorites. Then all my aunts, uncles and cousins showed up, in the evening ,at my parent's. They had a grab bag exchange but we didn't do that as funds were low. But we had a great time.
Christmas day we slept in. Scott got me a fairie t shirt and calendar, dear form slippers. Justin & Alexbought me cranberry bath stuff from The Body Shop. Dylan bought me pedicure stuff and bath scented Moonlight Path from Bath & Body Works. Dylan's girlfriend bought me Honey Shea bath and body stuff. I sure will smell good.
We had a white Christmas , which is perfect. For those of you who don't get snow, I feel sorry for you because there is nothing more perfect than snow on Christmas with all the Christmas lights and carols.
Yesterday was back to work. I am getting caught up on laundry and cleaning as well.
I started stitching M Designs Joy Tree from the 2005 JCS Ornament issue. I watched the DVD Zodiac, which was good.
I am reading Sweet Revenge by Diane Mott Davidson and am listening to Motor Mouth by Janet Evanovich. This is a sequel to Metro Girl and a little better as well. No more words NASCAR GUY even though he is in this book as well.
Tonight I plan on watching Carolina Moon on DVD, which is a Nora Roberts novel. Will stitch on M Designs Joy Tree.

checking in

Dylan has been doing well and had a doctor's appointment this morning. He is there now with his dad. I have been home from work for 2 days because of some stomach bug.
Putting stitched gifts together and watching TV.
CJ , I would love a spool of 032, thank you very much. You can email me needeler@gmail.com
I finished reading Twelve Sharp and Lean Mean Thirteen by Janet Evanovich and finished listening to Metro Girl by Janet Evanovich. I am getting ready to read Coming Out by Danielle Steel and listening to Motor Mouth by Janet Evanovich.
I finished the Gilmore Girls series on DVD. Was sad to see that end. Now I have to catch up on Netflix and with the shows on hiatus because of the strike and Christmas season I am hoping to watch a lot of movies.
I have been stitching on Mill Hill's Flying High and on the Santa Fishing Stocking.

Dylan's surgery

went well. He was mad as he had to stay at the hospital til 8 pm. We had planned on going to the LNS and mall so we did that on Saturday. Scott and I picked up Dylan's girlfriend and her friend after school and brought them to the hospital. The nurse asked if they wanted to put up the tree and decorate it for the pediatric wing. They said sure and had a great time. The nurse wrote up a letter that they had put in hours for community service so it was great for all involved.
Dylan has some pain and swelling but doing fine.

I ended up going to the LNS and got most of what I need but I am almost out of kreiniks 032 and I need 2-3 spools of that so will have to order online. Plus she doesn't carry Stitchy Kitty designs and I want the new snowman Trio. Then we went to a mall so Dylan and Justin could get some Christmas shopping done. Then off to Joanne's and I bought some fiberfill and 3 wooden boxes for Christmas gifts.
I crashed when I got home and the storm started around 7 pm and another front is on the way today so we are supposed to end up with 1-2 feet of snow all together. I want to put together some ornaments for gifts.

Snowy Day

Scott got home from work, this morning. He works nights. I asked him to take me to work , since Dylan's doctor appointment is right up the road. The weathermen said the snow would start late afternoon and we were to get 4"-8" and once it starts it will be bad. I knew driving into work would be ok but I was worried about the drive home. I got to work at 8:45 and by 9:30 the snow started and never let up. By the time Scott picked me up from work we already had 6". The roads where I work weren't to bad but heading into my town was awful. Their snowplow drivers do a shitty job.
Meanwhile, while I was at work. Scott called me and said that Dylan's finger is worse than they thought and he has to have surgery tomorrow. I told him that I couldn't miss work. There is only 3 of us in the whole place and my supervisor is out tomorrow. The other lady works less hours than I do because she takes kids to school and picks them up from school. But they told me that Dylan is more important than my job so to take the day off and the one lady will have her daughter home, from college so she can help her at work. Did I tell you how great these women are that I work with. They said that I am a mommy and that my kids come first. We also have been having furnace problems at work. But I won't even go into that.
So on the way home from work Scott wanted his deer pictures developed. So I took my memory card in and printed up 2 pics and he could not believe how fast it was. Yes Scott is computer and electronically illiterate. Then he asks if I can buy him supper and he wants chinese so away we go and pick up chinese and burger King for Dylan, yes he actually went to work with his hand all bandaged up.
I plan on reading and watching TV for the rest of the evening.
I am reading Twelve Sharp by Janey Evanovich and am about halfway through the book. Very funny.
Supernatural, on the CW, is a new episode tonight so I will watch that and stitch on Fishing Santa Stocking.

tree is decorated

and most of the house is as well. Justin and I put the lights on the tree, last night. Then I put the ornaments on tonight.
Dylan had his new girlfriend over and the ex kept calling him and crying. I told him he will lose the new girlfriend if he keeps taking her calls. But what do I know LOL.
I finished reading The Case of the Roasted Onion by Claudia Bishop. The main character is a vet and this was first in the series. I gave it a 4/5.
I am now reading Twelve Sharp by Janet Evanovich and plan on reading more tonight.
We have a storm coming in tomorrow afternoon and we are supposed to get 4"-8". It will come down fast and be hard to see so pray that it hits after I get home from work. Otherwise Scott will have to pick me up from work. Nothing else going on here and 2 days of no stitching time :-(
Not working for 18 years spoiled me and I got so much more done. I have no energy to do anything and less time to do it in. Insomnia would come in handy sometimes.

lots going on

I will play catch up the best way that I can. Ruth, you offered a piece of fabric and I would love it. Let me know what I can send you in return, thanks friend :-)
Friday I woke up feeling blah, sinuses I think. So I didn't go to Curves. Went to work but got worse so I left at noon. I got home and crawled into bed. The kids got home at 3 and what do they do? Ask me questions:
Dylan:Mom, did dad cash my paycheck?
Me: I don't know he has been hunting all day.
10 minutes , after I fell back asleep
Justin:Mom why are you home already and in bed?
Me:I am sick and trying to sleep.
Now I am awake so I might as well get up. DH also knows that I am home sick as I had called him when I left work. He calls me at 5 pm. Wants to know if I want to have dinner with his family. No, I am sick, DUH! Dylan also has a friend crashing for the night. Dylan comes home, from the neighbors with a swollen finger. Was piling wood and someone threw a piece which pinched his finger between 2 pieces of wood.

Saturday we get up. My car is going in the shop because it likes to stall and the engine light is on. So I take it next door for them to work on it. Dylan gets up for work and says he thinks his finger is broken, Scott thinks it is dislocated. Well Dylan has to be at work and we are down to 1 vehicle. So Scott drops Dylan off at work and then comes pick me back up, I drop Scott off to work Dylan's job and take him to the emergency room. They do an xray and his finger is broken and dislocated. OUCH!! So they put it in a splint and have to put the finger back into place. Now I can watch my kids get stitches, have blood drawn, ect. Watching them do this to my child's finger is a no go. So I watch Dylan's face and his face gets real white and his eyes are funky and he almost passed out. Now his finger is all better and says he will take me out for lunch. So we pick up lunch for Scott as well. Drop that off to him and find out my car is done. They put in a new fuel filter and spark plugs. I drive it and it is still not all better. So they put in new spark plug wires. Mean time I go back and pick up Scott from work and then go and pick up the Christmas tree. Bring that home and Scott takes Dyaln's friend home. I fall asleep on the couch, knowing that we have a Christmas party at 6pm and I still need a shower. When I wake up 2 hours later, Scott is still not home because the gas station was so busy that he helped out there for a little bit. I get my shower, he comes home and gets his shower and out the door we go for the Christmas party. Now I had planned on sleeping all day so I would feel better. That did not happen.
Sunday was a little better and I did sleep in. Justin even brought Dylan home at 9:30pm, from work so I could go to bed early. Great kid that he is.
Did I mention that 2 weeks ago Dylan and his girlfriend broke up? I was so thrilled but they were still hanging together all the time. I don't like her or her family. Well Monday he txts me from work about a girl coming over, after school. I said sure. This girl is very pretty and polite. I liked her alot. They are now going out and Dylan is such a happier kid without the ex in his life. She was a very depressing person and never smiled or joked around. This new girl is all smiles and very talkative. So I am thrilled for him.
My stitching and reading has taken a back burner to my getting rest so I will feel better. it is just sinuses and sudafed will help, if I remember to take it.
Today I leave for work and my engine light is on again so I call Scott and ask him if I can get a new car LOL. He said to leave mine on the railroad tracks LOL. I love my car but not to happy with it at the moment. Dylan's new girlfriend is here again and I hoping to decorate the tree and maybe stitch tonight.
Well I guess I talked all of your eyes off so I will go. Such drama for just a few days of no posting LOL.

Blogging trouble

I tried blogging last night but when I entered the post it all got erased :-( so I gave up. Anyways the weather here has been horrible. The roads were fine where I work but once I hit my town it was horrible. Today schools are closed and DH is taking me into work since the roads are so bad. He is the greatest.
Last night I hunkered down with the warmth and didn't leave the house.
I finished the book Knit One, Kill Two by Maggie Sefton and loved it. Then I started reading The Case of the Roasted Onion by Claudia Bishop.
I stitched a few hours on Fishing Santa stocking and getting quite a bit accomplished on it.
I watched a DVD Gilmore Girls season 7 disc 3.
Well I have to go and wait for DH to come pick me up for work.

Sunday, December 02, 2007

Happy Sunday!

I had started stitching a scissor fob yesterday for December but then remembered I already had one that needed to be sewn up. So I sewed it up and now have it. I watched Gilmore Girls Season 7 Disc 1. Watched Hope Floats, one of my favorite movies.
Last night Justin called me and said he just hit a deer but he didn't see any damage to the car. Scott and I told him to call the police anyways. He is ok and there is just a small dent in the fender and some plastic broken off of a headlight but the light works. Glad that he is ok. Not sure about the deer though as they couldn't find it.

Today I got up early and went on the computer to read emails, blogs and BB. Then stitched on MH Flying High while watching Gilmore Girls Season 7 Disc 2. When that DVD was done I decided to read Knit One, Kill Two by Maggie Sefton. I am hoping to finish it before I fall asleep. This is a Cozy Mystery and a series that I will definately want to continue. Then back to stitching and watched Desperate Housewives. OMG it was so good and left you hanging at the end and with this writers strike who knows when it will be on again.

Ruth , I would love Halloween Fairy when you are done with it. Is there anything that I can send you in exchange? Thank you so much.

Old Yankee Stitcher, Knit One, Kill Two is a great book and you should read it.

Happy Hump Day!!

Yes it is wednesday. My day was pretty busy. Got up and went to Curves before work. Got to work and listened to the audiobook of Metro Girl by Janet Evanovich. I like the storyline but am really sick of the author saying Nascar Guy throughout the book. I did finish Envy by Sandra Brown and it was an awesome book. I am reading Knit One, Kill Two by Maggie Sefton.
I alos pulled out Fishing Santa Stocking, to stitch on while watching TV.
DVR:
Kyle XY - 8/20 8/27 9/3
Desperate Housewives 11/25

TV tonight was Shrek The Halls Christmas special. Very cute!

At work we are getting ready for the big move into the new building. The supervisor and other woman that I work with, packed and took some things over today. I helped as well. I can't wait for the new move. We are in a really old building that is freezing and we have to share the bathroom which is not that great and several times my supervisor has walked in on a guy because he doesn't close the door. He must think he is home. the new building is just for our business so there is just the 3 of us there. Will be so nice. So when we are done working tomorrow then we have to help move. We are hoping that there will be enough guys to move the big things as we can't do that.

SBQ of the week

What would your stash tell others about you?
Most of us stitchers joke about having reached SABLE (stash acquired beyond life expectancy), but have you thought about what you’d like done with your stash after your death? Do you want it to reach other stitchers who will love it, too? Would your family know what to do with it or recognize its value?
How well organized is your stash –would someone be able to come in and put together a sale easily, or would it require lots of organizing work ahead of time? What would you like to see done with the funds collected from such a sale, i.e., should funds go to your family, to a charity or charities of your choice, to a charity or charities of your family’s choice, etc.?
Are there certain items in your stash which are rare and highly desired by stitchers that might make a much larger amount of money if sold on eBay? Have you done anything to designate which items these more valuable ones are to guide your family in how to handle them? Who would you tell your family should handle such a sale so that they don’t have to do it themselves? Have you done anything to make these thoughts known to others, either through discussions or through a codicil to your will?
Have you ever attended a similar sale of a passed stitcher’s stash? How did it make you feel? Did it encourage you to make any changes in your stitching lifestyle?

I have actually discussed this with my family and they know that they would just have to make a couple of emails to friends and any of my cross stitch online friends can come and have whatever they want. Mine is actually pretty well organized.

more stitching and TV

I went to Curves this morning, before going to work. Got to work and found that we were going to be really busy for the day. So I got out my MP3 player so I could finish listening to Envy by Sandra Brown but I get to the end and my battery dies :-( So I charged it when I got home and listened to a little bit of it tonight.
I decided to watch some more DVR shows while stitching.
DVR:
The 4400 9/9 9/16
The Dead Zone 9/9 9/16
All caught up on those as the last ones were the season finales.

Stitched some more on Fishing Santa stocking. I am dying to share a pic of my progress.

I am starting to read Knit One, Kill Two by Maggie Sefton

Great stitching weekend

I did it. I washed the dishes, vacuumed, washed 5 loads of laundry and watched TV all day while stitching.
I finished MH Bee Skep and started JCS 2003 Homespun Elegance Ltd. , Starry Santa. Since I stitch a JCS ornament on the 25th of each month, I started a day early. I will show all the finishes and the stocking when I am back on.

Lazy Day

I have been a little busy for a few days.
Thursday- got up and took my shower. As soon as I stepped out and grabbed a towel, the power went out. I was thankful that I still didn't have shampoo in my hair but how was I supposed to blow dry and make it look nice for Thanksgiving day. Power was back on in 30 min. So I missed about 45 minutes of the Macy's Parade. Sat down and stitched while watching the parade and then the dog show. Made the tossed salad after that. Dylan came home from work so we took off for my parent's house. Justin was at his friend's house for a few days so he met us there. Had a nice Thanksgiving with my parents , my sis and bil. My dad seemed to be doing a little better while we were there.

Friday- Dylan wanted me to take him and a friend to the mall so after I worked out at Curves, we headed for the mall. Was packed and I did end up with a pretty decent parking spot. He bought Scott's Christmas gift, bought me lunch and the way we were since he had to be at work by 2. Scott was out hunting and Justin had to work 7am-10am and then back to work again from 4pm-7pm. Scott came home and then we went to his parent's for a family get together. In the afternoon I did get a lot of stitching time in on the stocking while watching the DVR shows:
Ghost Whisperer - 11/9
Women's Murder Club - 11/9
Desperate Housewives 11/11
Smallville 11/15

Today is lazy day. Got up and sorted through the laundry for washing. Washed my face with noxzema and decided no makeup today and wearing lazy clothes, t shirt with sweatpants LOL. I am a sight let me say. Scott and Dylan went hunting for the day and Justin had to work at the station 7am-2:30. I washed dishes and vacuumed and have laundry going all day. After checking everything online I will then sit and stitch on stocking and watch DVR shows, almost caught up. I just remembered I have a few episodes of Grey's Anatomy on the VCR as well LOL.

My computer still isnt online so still using Dylan's laptop, and wait til I can post a pic of the progress on the stocking, I have gotten a lot accomplished on it.

weird day

I could use some prayers for my dad. He had knee surgery in October and is still in a lot of pain and won't have his other knee done now. My mom called and said that Thanksgiving is off but my dad changed her mind and she called me back.
I have been stitching Fishing Santa Stocking.
Reading Step On a Crack by James Patterson , which is really good.Listening to Envy by Sandra Brown on my MP3 player.
Today I watched General Hospital , Oprah's Favorite Things , Bones and House

If something can go wrong it will

Well Friday the furnace had broken at work. Saturday DH lost his cell phone in the woods, while out hunting, had to fill out a form at the police station so the cell insurance would replace it. Then our home phone has been out all weekend and have to replace phone lines in the house. So I can't use my computer and no pics of stitching. Today I am at Curves when my Supervisor calls and says no work as the furnace is still broken. So I have the day and time to spend with DH.
Saturday I stitched and finished MH Violet Angel and watched Underworld and Underworld:Evolution.
Had a stitch in yesterday with KarenNY and stitched on MH Bee Shep. After she left I stitched some more and then watched Eragon on HBO. What an awesome movie. I have the book but haven't read it and now I know it will get read sometime as the books are always better.
I stitched alot today on Fishing Santa Stocking while watching DVR: Friday's General Hospital, todays episode and SMallville 11/8 and Supernatural 11/8.
Then I read The Cat Who Had 60 Whiskers by Lilian Jackson Braun. Anyone that has read her books and loved them will be very disappointed in this book.

TGIF

What a day that I have had. It was snowing this morning, not to bad and most of the roads were clear. I did go to Curves this morning anf got in some workout. Then met DH at the coffee shop a block away.

Got to work and nothing major going on there til late morning and we smell something hot. Seems the reason we were cold is because the furnace was broken. Then my supervisor gets in trouble by what I will call a dweeb down in the main office. Even some of our customers won't talk to him because he is so rude.

I feel like I am coming down with a cold and the weather doesn't help. Scott had to go in and work tonight and then will get out in the morning and go hunting for most of the day so I plan on stitching and watching TV all day tomorrow. I also really need to give the dog a bath. He stinks and feels gross LOL.
Tonight I watched DVR shows while stitching, above pic is my new progress
DVR:
Smallville - episode 11/1
Supernatural - 11/1
Ghost Whisperer - 11/2
Women's Murder Club - 11/2
Started a new book. Dead End Dating by Kimberly Rave.
FYI: anyone interested in going to a proboards for cross stitch, reading and entertainment please check out my site. I do have to update the colors though :-)

Snow is coming

That is what the weathermen are saying. I am not looking forwards to it at all since I now have a job and don't drive in the snow. I will have to start doing it again :-(

I have been stitching away today. I watched 4 shows on DVR while stitching on the stocking:

Smallville-episode 10/25

Supernatural 10/25

Ghost Whisperer 10/26

Women's Murder Club - 10/26

I finished reading Kitty & The Midnight Hour by Carrie Vaughn and although I didn't care for it at the beginning, I did end up liking the book. I started Dead End Dating and can't remember the authors name right now.

My progress pic of the stocking is above. I am getting there slowly but surely.

I had to work a little later at work today. Went to the store and dropped off audiobooks at the library. Came home fixed dinner and then watched a DVD:

The Covenant - enjoyed it

watched tonight's Bones and House

Stitched on Fishing Santa Stocking

I also read more of Kitty & The Midnight Hour by Carrie Vaughn, which I am enjoying. Took me awhile to decide if I wanted to finish it. I don't like how the main character is being treated.

Happy Thursday!

I kept busy today and had quite a bit of energy. Got to work and weren't very busy. Computer problems as well and I left at 1:15. Stopped at the bank, went to Subway and then got gas in my car. Went home and cleaned the hall and family room. Lit some candles as well. Spent some time with DH and then sat down with the remote to the DVR and cross stitched. I ended up watching:

GH - last 30 minutes

Smallville - episode 10/11

Supernatural - episode 10/11

Ghost Whisperer - episode 10/12

Women's Murder Club - episode 10/12

At work I listened to my MP3 player and had playing Quentin's by Maeve Binchy.

This is my progress on the stocking:

weird weather

I woke up to it pouring out. DH came home at 7:30am and we were facing each other, talking. I was facing the east window and he was facing the west window. He says it is snowing out and I look out my window and say no , just raining. He says theya re big flakes and I tell him it is just raining so i turn and look out the west window and sure enough it is snowing in the back yard. I turn back around and it is now snowing in the front yard. I head out for work and the snow has picked up. Some parts of the main road had slush and visibility was bad for a few minutes. Had snowed on and off all day. I was all done with my work by 1:30 so my supervisor told me I could go home at 2. A friend of mine, who goes to college a few miles from where I work, said when she got out of college at 3:30 had 2" of snow on the ground. Must have happened right after I left work.

Came home and cleaned the kitchen. My friend also cut Dylan's (DS#2) hair. Looks pretty good.

I downloaded another audiobook to my computer, Maeve Binchy's The Return Journey. That will go on my MP3 player next.

Tonight I watched Bones and House while stitching on BH&G Fishing Santa Stocking.

Read A Peach of a Murder by Livia J. Washburn and only have a few pages left so I will finish that tonight, when I am done here.

At worked I listened to some more of Nights of Rain and Stars by Maeve Binchy.

Good Evening

We were a little busy at work. I came home and decided to clean the living room and my computer desk. Read my emails and a couple of boards.

Then sat and watched TV while stitching.
General Hospital-the last 30 minutes
DVR:
Desperate Housewives - episodes 10/28 , 11/4
Smallville - episode 10/4
Supernatural - episode 10/4

Reading:
A Peach of a Murder - Livia J. Washburn
Audio:
Nights of rain & Stars - Maeve Binchy

Stitching:
BH & G Cross Stitch Christmas 1999 - Fishing Santa Stocking. I have the top right panel done but need to do the backstitching tomorrow. I started this in Myrtle Beach and it is for Dylan. He picked it out and I wanted it done for this Christmas as a gift but I don't think it will be done on time. Although the snow will be coming soon and everyone knows I turn into a hermit then LOL.

Thursday, November 01, 2007

November is here

Where did October go? Before you know it Christmas will be here.
I finished listening to Tara Road by Maeve Binchy and downloaded Nights of Rain and Stars by Maeve Binchy. I will listen to that at work next. I have tons of books in my bookcase and listening to alot of them to free up my bookcase will be great. I am reading A Peach of a Murder by Livia J. Washburn.
I didn't get any cross stitching in today but I am going to organize my stash better. I really need to do that and I would like to change scissors and fobs every month as well as getting more of the pretty mesh bags with fabric. I have 3 so far and would like 9 more so I can change them every month. Yes, I am probably a freak LOL.
I didn't watch any TV today either but I did DVR Smallville and Supernatural and taped Grey's Anatomy.

Stitching away

I have been stitching on M Designs Peace Tree from the JCS 2004 ornament magazine. I have all the stitching done and will add the beads tomorrow.
So much has been going on. I went to the 10th Annual Cross Stitch pals Fall Fling in Myrtle Beach and had a blast. I rode with a couple of friends. Ate to much, not enough sleep and bought some stash :-)
Last week DS#1 got his license so I don't have to drive him around anymore. he bought a car back in June so he has that and doesn't have to use my car.
I have been in a cozy mystery reading marathon for some reason. Right now I am reading A Peach of a Murder by Livia J. Washburn. I also bought a Mp3 player and download audiobooks on it to play at work. Right now I am listening to Tara Road by Maeve Binchy.
Also before I left for Myrtle Beach I started a Proboard for cross stitching, reading and media. Check it out
http://csrmedia.proboards101.com/index.cgi

Been catching up on my DVRd shows and watching the new season shows.

Well time to get read some emails and then go to bed.

a little bit of everything

I met DH , for breakfast, on my way to work. Since he works the 3rd shift and gets out around 6 am and I had to be at work at 7:45 we ended up meeting at the coffee shop around 7.
I came home and took DS#1 to work. Came home and read emails. Read some of the book that I am reading. All Together Dead by Charlaine Harris. I am enjoying it.
Picked DS up from work then sat and watched a DVR show. Grey's Anatomy, from last week. Then watched tonight's episode of Private Practice. I watched these shows while stitching and finished this ornament. it is from JCS 2003 ornament issue. the design is Christmas Love by X-Apeal.

Happy Labor Day weekend!

Friday evening DH and I went to Walmart and got the kid's school supplies.DS#1 will be a senior this year.
Then we visited with my parents.
Saturday DH and I went to Dansville for the Hot Air Balloon festival. We had a good time. DH bought some fudge, he loves the stuff. I got a cute ghost wind chime, for Halloween, of course :-) They had a stall for Italian Charms. 5 for $10 and I want to make my one watch into Nascar so I bought Nascar girl, #8, #3 , #12 and one that says Daytona. To eat I had a rueben sandwich , which was very good and DH had 2 hamburgers.
Today is DS#1's anniversary with his boyfriend. So DH and I are dropping them off to a nice restaurant and then doing some shopping. I need to also sit and stitch on the model that I have. I did do a little bit yesterday and as soon as I am done here I will work on it some more. Yesterday I also watched Perfect Stranger which I had from Netflix.
Right now I am reading The Cat Who dropped A Bombshell by Lilian jackson Braun.
I do have reading goals and stitching goals for September and I will post that seperatly.

good afternoon

I deleted alot of blogs out of my favorites since I didn't check them for so long. I am keeping the ones who post here , even if it is once in a great while. I did post to a few this morning.
I put together the box for a cross stitch exchange ,that was due August 1 and I feel just horrible about it. I am never late.
Caught up on my emails now and deleting some old posts.
This afternoon I plan on stitching , model piece for Twisted Oaks designs , while watching TV shows and NASCAR.

Anyone up for some reading goals with me? I am reading as many cozy mysteries , in September, as I can. Then in October I am going to read as many Halloween themed Cozy Mysteries. November - Februaury I have to get caught up on all my favorite authors and will post those goals as well and see if anyone wants to join me in reading those. Just let me know if you are a reader and would like to be included in anything.

I joined 3 book clubs and 2 came in so far. I received:
Lee Child - Bad Luck & Trouble
Carol Higgins Clark - Laced
Mary Higgins Clark - I Heard That Song Before
Patricia Cornwell - Predator
J. A. Jance - Web of Evil
Kathy Reichs - Break No Bones
JD Robb - Born In Death
JD Robb - Innocent in Death
John Sandford - Invisible Prey
Barbara Taylor Bradford - Just Rewards
Jackie Collins - Drop Dead Beautiful
Danielle Steel - Toxic Bachelors

I am here

I am starting to get back into the stitching mode. I just started model stitching something new, for Twisted Oaks Designs.
I have been reading a lot of books this summer and joined more reading Yahoo groups. Right now I am into Cozy Mysteries and trying to collect those for reading. I am reading Candy Apple Dead by Sammi Carter and am loving it.
Watching shows that I DVRd over the summer: The 4400 , The Dead Zone, and Kyle XY.
I really like my job and my 90 days will be up August 29. I don't know where the time has gone. Our place is also moving , which is a good thing. Right now we are in an old building that has 3 floors and many other businesses and it is falling apart. The new place is our own building and double the amount of space that we are in now. There are no plans to hire anyone else though as there wouldn't be enough work for another person. The busy months are September - November.
Things seem to be working out between DH and I and I have been in a much better frame of mind. I also plan on blogging more and starting to read my friend's blogs again.

I am here

Sorry that I haven't filled you in. I like my job and the 2 women that I work with. We have a great time together and joke around.
I haven't been stitching at all or been online much. I just am getting sick of dial up and don't have the time that I used to.
I am reading more and playing Sims2 on the computer.
DS#1 had his Jr Prom and he had a great time. He also bought a car last weekend so now he needs to get his license and get the car on the road. He bought a 96 Contour. Needs some work but between his dad and his brother that shouldn't be a problem.

First day at my new job

I was hired as a tech lab for forage samples. It is pretty easy and today wasn't really busy but it will pick up. The 2 ladies that i work with are very nice. That is all that works there, just 3 of us. I work 8:45am-2:45 and I am tired. it has been almost 19 years since I have worked outside the home.
I am hoping to work on this months JCS ornament and am reading Interest of Justice by Nancy taylor Rosenberg
Tonight is the House season finale.

catching up

I needed to stitch up 15 sports ornaments this month to be caught up, since taking a break for a few months. I did it! Now I am stitching on Sue Hillis I Shall Wear Purple and will post a pic tonight.
Last week DH had said he was leaving but we sat down and really talked yesterday and he got his feelings all out and what the main problem was that he was keeping from me. So now we are fixing the mistake that we both have made and we are giving us til january to really work on this marriage and then we will go from there.
This morning I have a job interview for a lab tech job and the hours are perfect, 8:30am-3pm. Only 13 miles from my house :-)
I had to make 4 dozen deviled eggs for our church smorgasbord, this afternoon. This is our big money maker for the church and we started doing it about every month now. I volunteer 3-6.

blogging again

Things are moving at a slow pace here at home. I am just impatient with DH right now.
Haven't heard anything about a job yet and have resumes out.
I am seriously thinking of selling finished cross stitch pieces on either ebay or my web site along with the beaded scissor fobs. Any thoughts from any of you?
I also am going to be selling Avon online. So all of my friends can order online, will let you know the URL once it is up and running.
Now that all of my TV shows will be ending for the summer, and some ending forever, I will be able to keep up on my blog.
Right now I am stitching up all the sports ornaments that i got behind on. They are for a school function. I also have been reading alot as well. So will start daily posting about stitching and reading also TV watching.

Nancy got me with the 7 Things meme!
Here are the rules: Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to write on their own blog about their seven things, as well as these rules. You need to choose 7 people to get tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they have been tagged and to read your blog! Since most people don't like being tagged I will leave it up to those of you that want to be tagged to go ahead and post on your blog.

Humm, let's see..
1. I can play the clarinet, or at least used to
2. I can wiggle my nose like a bunny
3. I collect coffee mugs from places that I vacation at
4. I am addicted to TV series
5. I love quiet!
6. Love paper and pens of all colors
7. Addcited to Sims 2 PC game

Where have I been?

I know you are all wondering that. Well I have been job hunting, reading and stitching. Also DS#1 has had track. Tonight is his last Meet. I have been working with Kelly Services to find a job and nothing so far. I also have my resume out to 4 places. I need to update books I have read and movies watched.
Things are better with DH and I but we still have a long road til we get where we want to be. Thank you for those that ask and email me, also for keeping us in your prayers and/or thoughts.

Mondays Update

I have been stitching a little bit on Cedar waxwing.

I have been dying to have the Cheetah Gigher scissors. The stores here didn't have it and Customer Service told me they can't order them in for me. So I ordered them online. I had a GC that i received for Christmas and this was what I really wanted. i ordered them Tuesday and was told it would take 4-8 business days. My email said they were mailed out on Wednesday and I got them on Friday. Talk about fast. i want to make a beaed fob for them and I have the colors that I need but now have to shop for a Cheetah charm.
So the fob that Carol made me, for my birthday, went on my Gingher stork scissors.

A finish and a start

I had a productive day. Ifinished Angel stitching Christmas Joy. Then I started Brown House Studio Cedar waxwing from the JCS 2003 Issue.

Not sure how I will finish them.
I went to Kelly Services in the morning for a job. I have an appoiintment with them on Wednesday to find out how well I know computers and they will train me in the areas that I need help with.
I sat down and decided that I need to watch all of this seasons Gilmore Gilrs that I have been DVRing. So I did get 3 watched yesterday.
Then last night I watched :
Smallville
grey's Anatomy
Supernatural
Also yesterday I read a little bit. I finished Jinxed by Carol Higgins Clark and I started Popped by Carol Higgins Clark.
I don't know what DH and I are doing today. he wants to get his haircut and I need my eyebrows waxed. Then I have to pick up DS#2 and his girlfriend right after school and bring them home so she can spend sometime here with DS.
DH has had to do some repairs around the house and has finxed both of our sons floors and this weekend he has to replace part of the floor in the kitchen. Then I will buy a braided rug to cover up what he is replacing. i don't want to replace the tiles as I want a new home in 2 years and I don't want to spend anymore money on this place than I have to. it is an old trailer and starting to fall apart. We aren't sure yet if we want to put in a double wide in its place or just buy a place. We kep leaning towards a double wide as we also have a nice size addition on the trailer that we are keeping and the double wide places say that they can just put the double wide right up against the addition.

Then I started Angel Stitchin Christmas Joy from the 2003 JCS ornament issue.

Prayers to all the victims of the Virginia Tech shootings, that happened today. Such a tragedy.

Over the weekend the weathermen predicted a horrible winter storm for us. We only ended up with a couple of inches and it was very heavy wet snow. The morning commute was real bad and DH drove me to Curves as he didn't want me driving. Sorry for those of you that ended up with the storm.

Checking in

Thank you to Carol for my scissor fob. I received it right before my birthday and I couldn't find your email addy, either. I just love it and I have a pair of scissors that i want to buy and will put the fob on it.
Prayers are needed for my Pastor's family. My Pastor serves 2 churches and her DH was killed in a motorcycle accident on Saturday. He was also a Pastor at 2 churches. DS#1 has been babysitting for them, for several years now and the son is 7 and does not understand what has happened, except that his dad won't be coming back home. She has been helping DH and I through this tough time in our marriage and has been very helpful. Now she will need the support of family, friends and congregation.

I haven't stitched in almost a week. I have been reading a series by Carol Higgins Clark.

I am here

Sorry that I haven't posted in a long time. Been a little depressed and spending more time with DH. I hadn't stitched in a couple of weeks either but this week I have been. I updated movies that I watched and books that I read. I will post a pic of my stitching progress as well. Feb. 25 I started Kitty & Me the Gingerbread Man, from the JCS 2003 ornament issue. I have a little more than 3/4 done on it.
DS#1 has been sick all week with a cold. He wants to go to the doctors today. DS#2 is having his girlfriend over, since there is no school. It is Superintendents day.
The weather is getting warmer and supposed to be beautiful this weekend so I plan on shampooing the inside of my car.

weekly SBQ

Today's SBQ was suggested by Kathryn(http://threadsofdesire.blogspot.com/) and is:
What is the smallest count fabric you have ever used? Did you stitchover one? Conversely, what is the largest count fabric you have ever used?
I have stitched on 32 count and have had to do a little over 1. The largest is 11 count.

I am back

I have been missing but I am back. Had to work on some marital problems but that is getting back on track. I want to thank all of my family and friends for all of your support during this time. I do have one job application at a business and I drove, in the snow, for the first time in 14 years. It also looks like I will have to do it again today.

I finished Snow Puppy by Cross My Heart Designs , from the 2003 JCS ornament issue.
The other day I finished SamSarah Desings A Year Full of Happy. This is for a friend.
I am now stitching on I Shall Wear Purple by Sue Hillis. I am on page 3 of 9.
I received these lovely roses from my readnswap Yahoo group, on Valentines Day, as it was a bad day for me.
This bouquet of Roses and irises were from my sister, on Valentines Day. What a great sister to have.

I have been reading as well. I finished Cell by Stephen King and then Simply Sensual by Carly Phillips. I am now starting Daniel's Veil by R.H. Stavis.

July is Done and August is begun

I finished July and started August, of a Year Full of Happy. I think July is the only square that is filled in with stitches.

I visited with my parents, this morning. Gave my dad his birthday gift. He received the Frogs cube that i finished , on Sunday. Plus, while in SC , last October I had found a frog plug for a tub or sink. It is the cutest thing and something unique, which my parents loved. Yes, my dad collects frogs and their masterbath is done in frogs. but they have to be realistic and not cartoonish.

productive day!

I had a pretty good day today. Went to Curves this morning. Came home and vacuumed and dusted in the living room. Washed 2 loads of laundry and put a load away. Mondays are ornament days for me. I stitch the sports ornaments for a charity and stitch one a week. Then I decided, this year, I will also stitch freebies. I had started the Don't Peek ornament , from Cricket Collection, a few months ago. I finished that today. Then I started the Merry Christmas ornament that is a freebie from Joy of The Needle. I will finish that next Monday. The rest of this week I will stitch on Sam Sarah's A Year Full of Happy

Sunday Finishes

I have made a New Years Resolution , to have Sundays as my finishing day. I finish what I had cross stitched during the week and things that are sitting in a big box. Yesterday I did quite well. I put together the ornaments and then the cubes. Sewed up the halloween banner. Then when DS#2 came home he helped me make the cording for the ornaments. The Frog cube is a gift ti my dad, his birthday is Wednesday and I did the cording as it is more masculine than a bow. The Hats cube is for my mom, whose birthday is in March. I will look for Red Hat wired ribbon to finish it. The ornaments are mine as well as the Halloween banner.

While sewing I also was fixing lasagna and taking DS#1 to work. I picked Sundays to do finishings as DS#2 and DH work from 7am-2:30 so I have the house pretty much to myself. DS#1 doesn't bother me.

I also cross stitched for about an hour on Sam Sarah's A Year Full of Happy. I am on July now.

Today is ornament stitching day. So I will stitch one sports ornaments and then a freebie, I started, a while ago, by Cricket Collection.

A Gentle Soul

A Gentle Soul by Carol Emmer designs.
I would have finished this today but I ran out of one color of DMC. You would think, that since I have a dresser drawer of extra floss, that I would have it. So once I get it this weekend it will be done. I just need to stitch in that color. I started Hinzeit Frogs. It is a gift for my Dad , as his birthday is next Wednesday. I will finish it in a cube. All that I got done was the outside frame so I am not taking a pic yet.

My kids came home and told me that The O.C. is being cancelled on FOX. I didn't believe them so i had to check it out online, and sure enough they are playing the last 8 episodes and then it is done. I love this show and will miss it.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Well I survived Christmas and New Years. I hope everyone had a great Holiday. For the new year I decided to change the look of my blog and revamp it. I hope that you like it. I still need to get my Avatar back but am not doing the clock.
DS#1 got Sims2 for Christmas and I am hooked. I loved Sims 1 but this one is so much better. Now DS#1 and I can not find the disc 1 of Sims 1 and we have searched high and low for it. Looked through all DVD , CD and other games cases.
I have been stitching on Gentle Soul by Carol Emmer but haven't taken pics in a while. Will do that tonight.
I also have been reading quite a bit. I just finished Mary, Mary by James Patterson and it was awesome. I am now starting The Chocolate Mouse Trap by Joanna Carl.
Haven't watched much TV either but I did watch the Rose Bowl Parade. Beautiful floats.
