A finish and a WIP

The Night Before Christmas
Little Old Me designs
28 ct white Monaco
DMC, Kreinik, MH beads
11/30/08 - 11/30/09
Yeah it is done!! I can't believe it. The words were the easy part, believe it or not. I had fun stitching this and it was a freebie to members of the Needleworkers Haven BB.
HAED Aurora's Garden
25 ct white evenweave
DMC
Then last night I pulled out HAED freebie Aurora's Garden. I really want this done as a Christmas gift but I don't think it will be possible. Maybe if I didn't work or clean or eat. I will try to post a progress every night.

Is everyone ready for Christmas? I have half of Justin's gifts bought. I gave money to my sister to pick up our parent's gift. I stitched the quilt sampler for my MIL but still have not had it sewn into a pillow and realize it is to late to have it sent out to a finisher.

The Night Before Christmas will be sewn on top of fleece and then have the fleece made into a blanket. This will be a Christmas gift but I can't say for who yet. Not sure if that person reads my blog. Although I don't believe so

sleepy tonight

last night I didn't post a progress pic because I was watching Eagle Eye and it is so full of adventure that I didn't hardly stitch.
Then tonight I sat down with my stitching again and my ipod. I was listening to Shadow Man by Cody McFayden (awesome book) and stitching on The Night Before Christmas but I kept nodding off. I don't want to miss anything on this audiobook. So all I managed to get done in 2 days is 2 little cherries and the top part of santa. So I may post a progress pic tomorrow. I am just to tired tonight and it is only 9 pm. Pretty sad for me.
Tomorrow I will be pulling out TW The Storyteller.

Good night all,
Shelleen

Mondays progress

I worked some more on Night Before Christmas. I am hoping to finish another page tonight.

Had a fight with DS#2, who is 17. He doesn't like living by our rules so he packed and left last night. He has spoken to me since and will be back today. Teenagers are so much fun lol.

Night Before Christmas

I was able to put together 4 ornaments. They are for exchanges and I still need to buy goodies to go with them. Since I have to go to the city Saturday morning then I will get the goodies and be able to mail on Monday. So now I can concentrate on my WIPs, which are now UFOs.

Tonight I pulled out The Night Before Christmas by Little Old Me Designs. I only have a couple of more pages to stitch of this. I am hoping to finish it this year. Now that I am back into a routine I am sure it can happen.

I watched all 3 episodes of this week's General Hospital and it was good.

Tomorrow will be UFO night for me. Since I watch TV from 8pm-11pm I thought that 3 hours would be great. I will be stitching on TW The Storyteller.

I have NOT forgotten about my blogiversary Giveaway. With being sick I had put it on the backburner. I will be writing the names down tonight and having one of the boys draw a name.

More Night Before Christmas

Little Old Me Designs
Night Before Christmas

This piece is so big. I stitched on another page today but I didn't finish it.
This is a close up of the page I was working on.

I also was listening to Judge & Jury bu James Patterson and should finish it tomorrow. I love it.

Netflix movie tonight :
The Haunting In Connecticut - pretty good

Justin grabbed his keys at 9 pm and says "I am going to the movies with CC" I said " what are you seeing?" He said "nothing". Now I know he is keeping something from me so he yells HARRY POTTER and then ran out the door as fast as he can. The little brat and I told him the locks will be changed when he gets home. He has been going to the movies a lot and seeing movies that I want to see. like Transformers 2.

Night Before Christmas

Today I started listening to Judge & Jury by James Patterson. Wow what a great beginning.
I finally finished reading Keeping Faith by Jodi Picoult. Now I have read quite a few of her books and have loved them but I was not fond of this one.
I have been stitching on Little Old Me Designs Night Before Christmas. I got another page done and below is what I have done so far.

Tonights movie was on my DVR and was a Lifetime movie from 2 years ago called A Family Lost. Was very good. I have 7 more movies left on the DVR woohoo!!

Nothing else going on here. Still being careful around the house.

Thank you for reading my blog and for those that leave comments. You are the best :-)

I am BAAACK!!!

My surgery went as planned and no complications. The hospital stay was fine and they have a great staff of nurses and techs. loved them all. They also were quiet at night so I could sleep. My surgery was on Thursday morning and I was released at noon on Saturday. While there I finished an exchange on friday night and I stitched a little bit on the Quilt Sampler on Saturday. One of my nurses loves to cross stitch and she fell in love with the quilt sampler. She also told of a craft store in the city that sells used charts and DMC is .10 a skein.

Sunday, between naps I stitched some more on Halloween Fairy by Nora Corbet. I really enjoy stitching on her.
Then Monday & Tuesday I stitched on the Quilt sampler and now I only have 2 more blocks and some of the border left.
Wednesday was HAED day for me and this is freebie Aurora's Garden. I have 1 column done on page 1. I love the colors.
Today I stitched another page of Twas The Night Before Christmas by Little Old Me Designs. This stitches up quick.
Yes, I am getting a lot of rest. Sleeping when I need it as well.

I also finished listening to My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult and gave it a 5/5 rating. I just loved this book. I am now listening to The 5th Horseman by James Patterson.
In the evenings I watch a movie as well.
This week I have watched:
Gran Torino - it was ok- very slow
Baby on Board- good
Spring Breakdown - good
Georgia Rule - good

True Blood also started its second season on Sunday and I ended up watching it on Monday since I couldn't stay awake.
Tomorrow is my doctor's appointment.

Now I plan on picking up Christmas Ornament stitching since it has been neglected all year. Now I remember why I loved being a SAHM for 19 years lol. I sure do miss it. But I also like my job and having stash money.

2 WIPs and a finish

Monday I worked some more on TW The Storyteller. I am moving along on this and it is a SAL with Connie. I also watched the season Finale of House, which was good. I also watched 24.
This is Little Old Me designs The Night Before Christmas. It is part of a SAL with the Needleworkers Haven BB and you had to be a member in order to get the pattern. I stitched this while watching the season Finale of Lost, weird season. Bones, stupid finale. Grey's Anatomy which I loved the finale and cried.
Tonight was SAT (stitch a thon) with Stitching Sisters Yahoo group, Let's Stitch Blog and a Cross Stitch Facebook group. So I finished Pa Bunny by the Sweetheart Tree. This was stitched on 32 Ct Amsterdam Blue Lugana with DMC. I watched the season finale of Ghost Whisperer, which was good. Smallville season finale, which was good, and Supernatural Season finale. It is now midnight and I am tired.

*PaBunny pattern is up for a trade. See my wish list. This was a cheap pattern so a skein of floss or needles would be fair.*

Night Before Christmas

I finished some more of the verse and I stitched the moon and started the cuff of the stocking, but you can't see that because it is white.

While stitching I listened to Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer. I have 6 more chapters to listen to. I am hoping to finish breaking Dawn, tomorrow. I also watched Lost.

During my view of General Hospital I also wound more floss on bobbins. This is the only time during the week that i do this, is while watching my soap.

I have been stitching

I stitched some more on Night Before Christmas, Thursday night. I will be putting this away for a couple of weeks. This week is ornament week for me.
Thursday I also watched TV while stitching:
General Hospital
Supernatural - 2/5
The Beast 1/29
Bones
Grey's Anatomy
Private Practice

I have also been listening to Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer.

Today I went to Michael's to pick up more plastic bobbins and then to Walmart for Jammers boxes. I bought 6 packages of bobbins and 3 Jammers. That will keep me busy for a couple of weeks. I am almost doen winding all of the 5oo DMS on bobbins and then will put them in numerical order. These are all extra extra floss that I have and will fill a few Jammer boxes. But will be so much easier to find a color when I run out of my regular Jammer box that I use for all the WIPs and UFOs. That Jammer box has 1 of each DMC color in it and has the whole set. I still need to buy 3 clear bins for fabric. 1 for aida- I only use for ornaments and certain designs. I won't buy more when that is all gone. 1 bin for 28 ct and 1 bin for 32 ct. My beads and kreiniks are already organized and I should be ok with the overdyed flosses.

Today I watched:
General Hospital
Smallville 2/5
Lost

Night Before Christmas

I forgot to post a pic of this. I stitched on it Thursday.

I plan on changing my rotation this month. I am stitching on the Quilt sampler during the week since it was an incentive piece to be done by February 14. Then I will mostly stitch on Night Before Christmas as it is a SAL.

lots of WIP and 2 finishes and a NEWS!!!

I have some good news but I am going to make you wait and read my progresses first. Now stop groaning and no you better not be scrolling down to read it. I knew you would, you just can't resist. LOL

Last Thursday I pulled out Night Before Christmas and worked on Santa in chimney. I just need to do the backstitching on it. That will get done tomorrow night.
LK Hoppy Easter is finished. Well not the way the chart shows it. I did this for my RR with the Belle's. My RR is Easter. I am using 2 pieces of fabric. 1 is for a bellpull and the other piece will be for a pillow.
Then Sunday I finished Brittercup's Trick or Kitty Treat. The pic came out darl but I think it is cute.
Monday night I stitched on Rocky Mountain Christmas by Marty Bell. I started this many years ago and love the piece but the changing of colors all the time is as bad as a TW.
Last night I stitched on Mirabilia's Winter Queen. I finished the 1 section, that was my goal. I can't wait to stitch on her again.

I am also thinking of changing my rotation. Quilt Sampler and Night Before Christmas are 2 SALs with 2 different groups and Quilt sampler is supposed to be done in February as part of an incentive. I do enjoy stitching on them. So I was thinking for february to stitch one week on the Quilt and then another week on Night Before Christmas and alternate the weeks. Then go back to daily rotations in March.
I started an ornament - JCS 2003 issue- Rosie & Co. - Santa's on His Way. I will finish it this weekend.

I finished the aaudiobook New Moon by Stephenie Meyer and I enjoyed it very much. I will be starting Eclipse, tonight.
We have been getting a lot of snow. We have been in snow warning from 10pm last night until 1am Thursday morning with a foot of snow when done. Roads have been horrible but schools didn't close because of state mid terms.

Ok so now for the good news. Are you ready?
JUSTIN DS#1 is on the Dean's List at college. I am so thrilled for him and so proud. We got the letter in the mail yesterday and he happened to be home. I handed him his mail and he opened it and the surprise and grin on his face was priceless. He started giggling and told me what it said. Way to go Justin!!!!!

progress pics

I stitched on Night Before Christmas , on Thursday. This is a SAL with Needleworkers Haven BB.

Then last night I did the Friday night SAT with the Let's Stitch blog and I stitched on TW The Storyteller.

Today is a SAT with Only One Ewe BB so I will do the little bit of backstitching on The Storyteller and then stitch on Quilt Sampler.

I have been listening to Twilight and enjoying that. I have the next 3 on audiobook as well.
Another storm is on the way starting anytime and we will get 4-6 inches of snow, yuck!! So a nice day to sit and stitch and drink some wine :-)

FAL pics and a WIP

I did get to stitch a little last week and I work on Twas The Night Before Christmas by Little Old Me Designs. I have this in my rotation for Thursdays.

I finished 18 projects. Can you believe it? 2 I can't show as they are for exchanges. I also didn't start til early evening Saturday and finished around 6:30 tonight. Yes I did sleep last night and went to bed around 11:00. Some of these pieces I stitched in 2000 so it was good to see them and since some say Winter, snow or have snowmen on them they will stay out til Spring. Some will get put away for Christmas gifts this year. I know a family member who will love the one little pillow that has a bird on it. The canvas bag was from a stitching retreat that i went on in 2006 and we did a SAL of the porcupine and I fused that to the bag. Now I can't wait til next month's FAL. The only thing I hate is not having a craft room so I have to put everything away and then pull it all back out again next time. I am so glad that I have a huge family room that I can set up a TV tray, 6 ft table and a card table and still have room to walk around in here. So who wants to join me next month? The dates for all of this years FALs are in the sidebar.

Night Before Christmas

I am stitching this piece on Thursdays. I finished the santa face and stitched the words. The design is by Little Old Me.
I watched General Hospital, and How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Oh and The Miser Brothers Christmas , which I didn't like. it has the characters from a Year Without a Santa Clause but if they had the same people doing this show they did a lousy job. Not only were the voices different but you would think they would use the same santa, Mrs. Clause and Mother Nature. Very cheesy graphics on this one.
Keeping an eye on the weather as we have a severe storm on the way in the morning. Scott already said that he would take me to work because it will get worse during the day. They are expecting 4-9 inches and will get 1-2 an hour for about 4 hours.

FAL pics and my WIP

These are what I had finished last weekend. The 4 on top are in acrylic picture frame magnets. I decorated them up. I have so many little frames but not enough little finishes. So far I used the ones in the middle. The Mill Hill ornaments are the ones that i had stitched up. I still have TONS of ornaments to finish up and will do a few every month.

The Night Before Christmas is a SAL with Needleworkers Haven BB and the design is by Little Old Me Designs owned by Michelle Harper. This is a huge piece and will work on it once a week.

I have decided to work on a different project every day of the week. I need to get a rotation going and I am in a few SALs and they will all fit in them. I am also trying to get back into blogging every day. Was stitching a lot lately instead.

I finished the audiobook Skinny Dip by Carl Hiaasen and am now listening to The Winding Ways Quilt by Jennifer Chiaverini.

Tonight I watched a cute movie on abcFamily. it was Snow2 Brain Freeze and I liked it as well as the first movie just called Snow.

Yesterday we got our tree and today it is decorated. Now to put up the rest of the decorations around the house. Last night we went to a Christmas party that was put on by the owner of the gas station where Scott is manager. The owner also owns a company that delivers fuel and propane so we always get invited to that party. We had good food and chatting with others.

Tomorrow is Rocky Mountain Christmas day and it is my oldest UFO and around 1/2 done. My goal is to finish it in 2009.
