I am here

I haven't been stitching as much as I should. I got playing Sims2 on the computer again and it is addictive. I did finish an exchange piece and need to mail that out. I have been reading a little bit as well.
My bad news is no car. My engine is shot and I have no more warranty on the car, it is a used '99 mercury Cougar. So we are getting a used engine but the labor will kill us. Although it is my neighbor's shop working on it and he has said if Scott does alot of the work then the labor won't be so bad. Scott does know how to do most of it so that will save us. But coming up with the money ahs to wait til taxes come in, that will be the end of February. meantime Scott has to take me to and from work.
I am so far behind on stitching. I have a few SALs that i wanted to do this month, with the Cross Stitch pals. I also have a RR to start and is supposed to be mailed Feb. 1. I don't know if that will happen for me.
I have all these packages here to mail out of books for the giveaways and a chart but no way to get there. i was supposed to go yesterday but Scott couldn't get me to the PO on time due to unfortunate events that came up for him. And no, I don't live in town to walk.
I finished reading Just Rewards by Barbara Taylor Bradford and is part of her Emma Harte series. I am now reading The Hard way by lee Child. I finished lsitening to Chill Factor by Sandra Brown and am now listening to Ricochet by Sandra Brown. Both are very good.
Well I need to go and get some laundry done and sit and do some serious stitching today. I had started Simply Winter by Waxing Moon, yesterday. it is part of a season SAL through the Cross Stitch pals. I plan on watching Failure To Launch and then listen to Ricochet, while I am stitching. Yesterday I watched Basic Instinct 2.

I will post later of the winners of this weeks book and chart giveaway and list the new giveaways.

windy day!!

we had high winds today with gusts up to 75mph.Some lines were down and trees.

I got my car back today and it seems to be running like new. I didn't have to work today as it was a slow day so Scott finally took the tree out of the house and I vacuumed. What fun that is LOL. did some laundry and took a nap. I haven't been sleeping well all week for some reason.

I finished watching The Dresden Files on DVD and then found out that SciFi cancelled the show :-( I thought FOX was the one notorious for that. Medium started their 4th season on Monday night and it was good. I had 3 Netflix movies come in today: Transformers, Shrek the Third and Annapolis. I watched Transformers and gave it a rating of 5/5. great action packed and the graphics were awesome!!

I finished M designs Halloween Bag, It is similiar to a tuck pillow and there is another piece called Autumn that also goes in the bag. So you replace it with Halloween. Plus the kit came with 2 scissor fobs. 1 is for halloween and the other one , of course, is for Autumn. I will work on those as well.

I am reading Hidden moon by Lori Handeland and it is really good. I am about 3/4 done with it. it is a library book so no giveaway on that book. I am also listening to Chill Fatcor by Sandra Brown and am enjoying that as well.

stitching away

Friday at worked, I finished listening to Midnight In Death by J.D. Robb. it was very good. Last night I finished reading Sweet Revenge by Diane Mott Davidson. I am starting to read Hidden Moon by Lori Handeland and will start an audiobook by Sandra Brown. Not sure if it will ne Chill factor or Ricochet. I have them both to download in my Mp3 player.
I finished stitching Joy tree Ornament by M Designs

I am now stitching on Halloween bag from M Designs . I took the class in Myrtle Beach at the Cross Stitch Pals Fall Fling. The class was fun and I want to finish this bag. I will take a pic when i finish it. I then will stitch on the Autumn piece that goes with it and the 2 fobs. But I do have to stitch a fob for an exchange I am in and it needs to be mailed this week.

I watched season I of The Dresden Files. it is a SciFi series that i just found out about. I am not sure if it is a summer show or what. I read the book by Jim Butcher and was told that they made a series on TV based on his series of books. I loved the DVDs that i watched all weekend and will keep an eye out for the series on Scifi.

I have had a couple of bad days with my car. Why does everything have to be computerized and harder to figure out what is wrong with a car? I have had my car worked on but other codes keep popping up. I can't drive it or I will be in a car accident and I can't trade it in because I still have a 1 1/2 years left on payments. Besides I love my car. it is a '99 Mercury Cougar and it handles awesome!! I have a great stereo system in it as well. I am hoping once it is fixed this time that it will run like mint again.

Justin had Alex over for the weekend, which he is a great kid. Dylan spent Friday with Vanessa at a friend's house and then Vanessa showed up today , to hang out with me while Dylan was at work. She is the best thing to happen to him and he knows it lol.

Give aways

I plan on giving one book and one cross stitch pattern away every week. I will post on Sundays and you have til Saturday to email me. I will put names in a bowl and have one of my boys or Scott draw a name and I will post on Sunday who won. My books all have bookcrossing labels and I would like it if you go to the site to say you received the book and again when you read it but it isn't mandatory, it is just fun.

Happy New Year!!!

New Years Eve was nice. Scott and I stayed home and Justin had his boyfriend over and Dylan had his girlfriend over. We stayed up late and watched the ball drop. Had a lot of food.

New Years Day I took down all the Christmas decorations and the tree ornaments. That tired me out so I took a nap, although staying up til 1:30 in the morning didn't help lol. I then got all of my goals writtn down for the month and I started and finished an ornament for the Cross Stitch pals 2008 Myrtle Beach challenge.

I also watched The Santa Clause 3 , which was cute.

Today I had to work til 4, came home to stitch and watch TV shows on the DVR.
I also started to listen to Midnight in Death by J. D. Robb and did read Sweet Revenge by Diane Mott Davidson. I am not finished with them yet. Then I turned on the DVR and watched :
Grey's Anatomy 12/6
Women's Murder Club 12/7
General Hospital 12/21
