crappy weather

It started snowing when I got up and we had high winds all last night through tomorrow morning. Anyways the school were closed because they were calling for whiteouts throughout the day. The morning cleared up and no matter what i had told my 19 year old he figured the weather was done and the whiteouts started around 11 am. Is he home, oh no he is not and had to drive not knowing where he was. Scott had taken me to work because I knew what it would be like later. He ended up picking me up at 12:30. We werent busy at work so my manager said I could leave before it got worse out. I don't know if it could have been any worse except for maybe driving at night. We had 3" within 1 1/2 hours. The vehicle in front of us hit a car that was pulling off a side road and didn't see us on the main road. No one was hurt and not much damage that i know of, because were only going 35mph.
Scott works nights at his full time job. Got up and went outside to warm up his truck and ended up calling in to work. No way was he going in. Still whiteouts and we have a foot of snow and it is still coming down.
Dylan (DS#2, 17 year old) was at work in town. His girlfriend lives a block from where he works so he crashed there for the night, So we are all safe and warm for the night but I wouldn't be surprised if power goes out and I do not believe there will school again tomorrow. We are supposed to get a few more inches of snow over night.
I did stitch about 2 hours on HAED Aurora's garden but I am not taking pics tonight. I will be taking them tomorrow though.

TV watched:
couple of General Hospital episodes
Bone

FYI As The World Turns is being cancelled. The last episode will be September of next year. I used to watch that show every day but haven't watched it in about 10 years. Sorry to see another soap going.

  1. I truly would not know how to act in snow like that! Although I would love the opportunity to find out one day! LOL

  2. Crappy here too, Shelleen...anywherefrom 7 to 17 inches of snow, blizzard warnings, and then down into the deep freeze, below zero. I hate that!!!

  4. My mother used to Watch as the World Turns every day when I was little.

Stay safe...I'd love a snow day all warm and snuggly at home but only if the power stayed on!

  5. Glad to hear that you and your family are safe. What a great excuse to stitch too.
