September WIPocalypse & other news

Can you believe it is the end of September already? Tomorrow is October already. Autumn is my favorite season and I am loving the temps, colors and smells :-)

So for this second WIPocalypse for the month I stitched on HAED - Lusk- Aurora's Garden and I finished page 2.

Then I finished the top half of S is For Stitcher out of June 2008 Cross Country Stitiching magazine

Now I am stitching on page 4 of Marty Bell's Rocky Mountain Christmas. I only have a little bit left of this column for the page to be done.

Next in my rotation is to finish Mirabilia's Halloween Fairy.

This week hasn't been a good one. Last Saturday DS#1 started out with a sore throat which left him on Sunday only to come down with a horrible cough. Monday I came home from work and could smell gas in my house. My oven wasn't working right so DH had put in a new part. He thought he had it taken care of. I woke up around midnight because I could smell gas again. Called DH at work. I opened all the windows and had the fan going. We don't have natural gas, it's a propane tank. Anyways we shut off the tank so no more gas. Tuesday DH came down with the cough. Wednesday I come down with a scratchy throat a couple of hours before leaving work. By Wednesday night I felt really sick and plugged up. I woke up in the middle of the night and realized that my dog had labored breathing. So I comforted him while falling asleep and our cat Molly was rubbing against his face to love him up. I woke up again and the dog now has collapsed on the floor and his breathing is worse and he will not get up. He is an 11 1/2 year old Rottie/Shepherd mix. I have owned him for 10 years and adopted him at a shelter. Best dog you could ever want. Called DH at work, need to come home Dreyx is dying. DH gets home and still can not get the dog up. I call the vet and we take him in. We had to put him on his blanket and then put that on a sleeping bag to drag him gently through the house and lift him into the truck. Anyways, vet can't hardly hear his heartbeat. He is having stomach contractions, which we believe are tumors. We could have xrays done and if he has tumors not much we can do and the vet and I are really concerned about not hearing the heartbeat. So leaving DH and I alone we make the decision to let him go. You can tell in his eyes that he is done. They are not bright and he always lets me love him up and he was turning his head away from me. The vet came in to ask if we had anymore questions and she wasn't rushing us. I told her since she believes he has tumors in his stomach or something around his heart, and with his age that we did not want anything else done for him. He probably wouldn't make it through any operation anyways. So I laid curled up on the floor with him while saying goodbye to my beautiful dog. We took him home to bury him.
My day gets worse with being sick that by the time it is nighttime I am pretty sure that I have bronchitis. DS#2 and his girlfriend came over to mourn Dreyx and they ordered pizza and wings. I really couldn't eat much and Allie was getting concerned about my breathing.
Friday I went to the doctors and I have asthmatic bronchitis and an ear infection. I am on 4 meds, yeeha. This weekend was Naples Grape Festival and I am so upset that I couldn't go. Friday DS#2 also came down sick. He went to Urgent Care yesterday and he got there as it was turning into bronchitis. So meds for him too. DH still has a cough but Robitussin is helping him. I had been so sick that I hadn't been mourning Dreyx much til yesterday. It has hit me and Molly is looking for him through out the house. The other 3 cats looked for him but Molly really loved him. She is having a hard time of it.
DH still needs to fix the oven so everything is either sandwiches or anything that I can cook in the microwave.
Well I am going to go stitch some more and watch another disc of season 1 Party Of Five.

Here is Dreyx:

Oh dear, I am so sorry to hear about this terrible week =(
I am really sorry to hear you lost your beloved dog, I hope he didn't suffer so much. Due to the tumors he had, maybe it was good for him to let go, even if it is hard for you. I am sure he is in a wonderful and peaceful place now *big hug*

I hope your illness will get better soon =)

    And nice stitching.
