Book Review: The Highland Renegade by Amy Jarecki

The Highland Renegade (Lords of the Highlands, #5)

She is the daughter of his sworn enemy.
Famed for his fierceness, Laird Robert Grant is above all a loyal Highland clan chief. But when redcoats capture his rival's daughter, he sets aside their feud and races to her rescue. Aye, Janet Cameron is beautiful, cunning, and so very tempting, but a Cameron lass is the last woman he should ever desire.

He is her one hope of happiness.
Janet refuses to meekly surrender, not even when surrounded by foes. She takes every chance to escape, first from the English soldiers and then from the wickedly handsome Robert. Yet with each day they spend together, his unexpected gallantry chips away at her reserve little by little. As danger and treachery loom, can she trust him enough to choose love over vengeance?

                           MY REVIEW:

The Highland Renegade (Lords of the Highlands, #5)The Highland Renegade by Amy Jarecki
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Laird Robert Grant is a Highland Clan Chief and his enemy are the the Camerons. Their families have been feuding for many generations. Robert has accused his rivals of stealing his cattle, no matter what they say. But he falls for the daughter, Janet. The Redcoats go after Janet because their leader is drunk and is not so nice to Janet so she slaps him. Robert rescues her only for her to become hurt and he takes her back to his home to keep her away from the Redcoats and to heal properly. He sends a letter to her dad, who shows up sometime later one and is taking her home. He does not believe that Robert would be nice to her or take care of her properly. But Grant and Janet fell in love and he wants to win her hand from her family. Things don't look so good for them.
I really enjoyed this book and seeing Robert and Janet fall for each other. Janet couldn't stand him for years and realized she was wrong about him all along.
I received this book from Forever for review.
