Book Review: My One and Only Duke by Grace Burrowes

My One and Only Duke (Rogues to Riches, #1)

A funny thing happened on the way to the gallows...
One minute, London banker Quinn Wentworth is facing execution. The next, he's declared the long-lost heir to a dukedom. Quinn has fought his way up from the vilest slums, and now he's ready to use every dirty trick he knows to find the enemy who schemed against him.

There was just one tiny problem...
Jane Winston, the widowed, pregnant daughter of a meddlesome prison preacher, crosses paths with Quinn in jail. Believing his days are numbered, Quinn offers Jane marriage as a way to guarantee her independence and provide for her child. Neither thinks they'll actually have a future together.

They were wrong.
He's a wealthy gutter rat out for vengeance. She's a minister's daughter who must turn a marriage of desperation into a proper ducal union. Are they doomed from the start or destined for a happily-ever-after?

My One and Only Duke (Rogues to Riches, #1)My One and Only Duke by Grace Burrowes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Quinn is facing execution. While in prison he befriend's the prison preacher's daughter who is a pregnant widow. He tells Jane to marry him for his name and a way to raise her child. As he is getting hung he is pardoned as it turns out he is a duke. He is an heir that he did not know anything about. Now their marriage is for real and they need to find a way to make it work. He also wants to know who set him up and he is determined to find his answers. You also see how Jane's relationship is with the preacher, her father.Things are not always as they seem. We also get to meet Quinn's family. Jane is very much wanting to make her marriage work while Quinn isn't quite sure what to think of it all.
I received this book from the publisher for review.
