I had an appointment with the surgeon this morning. He agreed that I need a hysterectomy. He said he couldn't get me in until the beginning of August :-(. The fibroid cyst is resting on my bladder. Even though the cyst has no pain it causes problems with my bladder. Also work gets real busy in September so I was hoping to have it done sooner. I was told that once the schedule was made that someone would call me by Monday. Ok.
In the mean time, Sunday I had gone to Petco in our area and they have cats & kittens up for adoption. I fell in love with a 3 year old female named Molly. I also like a kitten and another 6 year old female. I haven't been able to get Molly out of my heart and Scott told me to get her. Remember I already have 3 cats and a dog. So last night I emailed the animal shelter. I told them I was interested in her and I have 3 cats and a dog. They emailed me back this morning saying she would fit in with us and to go to Petco and fill out the adoption papers and it would take a day to find out if I could have her. I picked up Dylan after school and we head over to Petco. Since Sunday all of the other cats were adopted but Molly and the other 6 year old cat, who is very sweet. I fill out the application and leave it at the store. On the way home the shelter had picked up my application and approved me, woohoo! I could get her now. So I went home and grabbed the cat carrier and away we went to pick her up. Meanwhile I got another phone call from the doctors office. They fit me in for my surgery next Thursday, hooray!! So I have tomorrow and next week Monday and Wednesday left to work. Tuesday is preop day.
Dylan and I picked up Shelbi and we went and got Molly. She is very sweet and gets along with my dog, rottie and shepherd mix, he likes her as well. But she is hissing and yelling at my cats lol. I am sure they will be fine. This works out well though as I will be home for a few weeks to help her transition here. Also Justin is home from college and Dylan has 2 weeks left of school so I will get a lot of help around the house. Dylan's girlfriend Shelbi also said she would help me.
Keep me in your prayers and thoughts.

First - all of your stitching is amazing! You must never sleep in order to finish it all! :-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new kitty as well! Lucky you!
Good news on the surgery being moved up. Hopefully the surgery itself won't take long. When my fibroids were removed it was about 4 hours and I was feeling it after that for a good 6 weeks - mostly muscle pain.
Take care and keep us posted as you are able to.
I'll be thinking about you and your surgery. I think fate stepped in for everything to work out this way. You and Molly will get some great bonding in, and I'm sure she'll help you heal right up!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to your new family member-I bet she is really sweet. Pictures please! Best wishes to you for a good surgery. I am sure things are going to go great!

This will be a prime time to teach Molly the finer points of stitch etiquette for kitties! lol
Know that you are in all of our thoughts!!
I'm so glad about your surgery (you'll feel so much better eventually), and I'm especially happy about the new members to your family. So happy you have so much great help in the transition of the new animals to their new home. They're getting the best home, you know :-) You know how I love animals, and I can't think of a better new mom for them. It's all working out great for you! Prayers for little pain and a speedly recovery!
