RMC page 4 done and Halloween fairy

I finished page 4 of Rocky Mountain Christmas. It has gone back into rotation, for next time.

Then I pulled out Nora Corbett Halloween Fairy. I am afraid I am going to run out of Crescent Colours Dandelion Stem for the wings.

I ended up cleaning some in my craft room. Looks a little better. I haven't sat in there since Spring. Was to hot all summer since I don't have central air.

Then I watched season 1 disc 3 of Party of Five. I also finished listening to Split Second by Catherine Coulter.
I will be starting to listen to Tough Customer by Sandra Brown. I am reading V is For Vengeance by Sue Grafton

Last night I watched the new season of Once Upon A Time and Revenge, both very good. I DVRd 666 Park Avenue and will watch that tonight.

Also on Hallmark channel today is a new show called Home & Family. I will DVR that Mon-Fri and am looking forwards to it.

Everyone have a great day

September WIPocalypse & other news

Can you believe it is the end of September already? Tomorrow is October already. Autumn is my favorite season and I am loving the temps, colors and smells :-)

So for this second WIPocalypse for the month I stitched on HAED - Lusk- Aurora's Garden and I finished page 2.

Then I finished the top half of S is For Stitcher out of June 2008 Cross Country Stitiching magazine

Now I am stitching on page 4 of Marty Bell's Rocky Mountain Christmas. I only have a little bit left of this column for the page to be done.

Next in my rotation is to finish Mirabilia's Halloween Fairy.

This week hasn't been a good one. Last Saturday DS#1 started out with a sore throat which left him on Sunday only to come down with a horrible cough. Monday I came home from work and could smell gas in my house. My oven wasn't working right so DH had put in a new part. He thought he had it taken care of. I woke up around midnight because I could smell gas again. Called DH at work. I opened all the windows and had the fan going. We don't have natural gas, it's a propane tank. Anyways we shut off the tank so no more gas. Tuesday DH came down with the cough. Wednesday I come down with a scratchy throat a couple of hours before leaving work. By Wednesday night I felt really sick and plugged up. I woke up in the middle of the night and realized that my dog had labored breathing. So I comforted him while falling asleep and our cat Molly was rubbing against his face to love him up. I woke up again and the dog now has collapsed on the floor and his breathing is worse and he will not get up. He is an 11 1/2 year old Rottie/Shepherd mix. I have owned him for 10 years and adopted him at a shelter. Best dog you could ever want. Called DH at work, need to come home Dreyx is dying. DH gets home and still can not get the dog up. I call the vet and we take him in. We had to put him on his blanket and then put that on a sleeping bag to drag him gently through the house and lift him into the truck. Anyways, vet can't hardly hear his heartbeat. He is having stomach contractions, which we believe are tumors. We could have xrays done and if he has tumors not much we can do and the vet and I are really concerned about not hearing the heartbeat. So leaving DH and I alone we make the decision to let him go. You can tell in his eyes that he is done. They are not bright and he always lets me love him up and he was turning his head away from me. The vet came in to ask if we had anymore questions and she wasn't rushing us. I told her since she believes he has tumors in his stomach or something around his heart, and with his age that we did not want anything else done for him. He probably wouldn't make it through any operation anyways. So I laid curled up on the floor with him while saying goodbye to my beautiful dog. We took him home to bury him.
My day gets worse with being sick that by the time it is nighttime I am pretty sure that I have bronchitis. DS#2 and his girlfriend came over to mourn Dreyx and they ordered pizza and wings. I really couldn't eat much and Allie was getting concerned about my breathing.
Friday I went to the doctors and I have asthmatic bronchitis and an ear infection. I am on 4 meds, yeeha. This weekend was Naples Grape Festival and I am so upset that I couldn't go. Friday DS#2 also came down sick. He went to Urgent Care yesterday and he got there as it was turning into bronchitis. So meds for him too. DH still has a cough but Robitussin is helping him. I had been so sick that I hadn't been mourning Dreyx much til yesterday. It has hit me and Molly is looking for him through out the house. The other 3 cats looked for him but Molly really loved him. She is having a hard time of it.
DH still needs to fix the oven so everything is either sandwiches or anything that I can cook in the microwave.
Well I am going to go stitch some more and watch another disc of season 1 Party Of Five.

Here is Dreyx:

S is For stitcher - top half done

I finished the top half for S is For Stitcher and it will go back into rotation. This is from the June 2008 Cross Country Stitching magazine.

My order from HAED came in today. It was in appreciation for all of their hard work and they have been talking about shutting down business because people are posting the charts illegally, online.
I bought:
 Faces Rae - Hannah Disney

 Faces of Faery 135 - Jasmine Becket-Griffith

Faces of Faery 88 Jasmine Becket-Griffith

 Mini Felicity Hannah Lynn

Mini Hannah Lynn - Hannah Lynn

 QS Rosita - Hannah Disney

QS Sea Star Jasmine Becket-Griffith

I love them all and will stitch them someday :-)

I have been reading and watching movies.
I am done reading the Hannah Swensen mysteries by Joanne Fluke. I really enjoyed them. I am still listening to the FBI series by Catherine Coulter. I have one more book after the one I am listening to. Right now I am reading V is for Vandetta by Sue Grafton.

Last night's movie was The Vow, which I really enjoyed. Tonight's movie is Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
I also will be stitching on Rocky Mountain Christmas.

Thank you all for the comments, they mean a lot to me.

Sept. IHSW & TUSAL

This weekend was the IHSW and I stitched on S is For Stitcher . This is out of the June 2008 Cross Country Stitching magazine. I ran out of the yellow that you see under the letters E & R. So I went to Michaels after work. They were out of this color. So DH said he will go to a local craft store and see if they have it.

Yesterday was also TUSAL and the threads in the orts glass are from HAED Aurora's Garden and S is For Stitcher.

This is busy season at work and we have picked up a lot since last season. Very tired when I get home so you may not see me leaving comments on your blogs and you may not seeing me post much on my blog. I am ok, just may not be on as much.

IHSW and catching up

First off this weekend is IHSW and I plan to do a lot. It has been a crazy 2 weeks at work and I need to veg all weekend. Supposed to be cool this weekend, can you say Autumn? My favorite time of year.

I know that I haven't been on here lately. So let's back up and see... oh yeah I finished page 2 of Aurora's Garden
Next rotation I will finish her.

Sept. 2 DH and I went to the NY State Festival of Balloons in Dansville, NY. They also had a car show that day. I love the muscle cars and will show you a couple pics and since you know what hot air balloons look like then I will post pics of the unique ones.

I have also been stash shopping. I know, I said no more charts til I finish everything that I have started. But who can resist HAEDs and trying to support them this week.
So the past few weeks I have ordered 3-4 pieces of Picture This Plus fabric for some charts in the JCS Halloween issue. Then I ordered a years subscription to Stoney Creek Magazine. I received the JCS Christmas Ornament issue. So for HAED I have ordered and received Boo from Randall Spangler during the Labor Day sale. I am starting that January 1 with a few other stitchers. Then yesterday for HAED appreciation week I ordered:
Minis:
Felicity
Hannah Lynn

QS:
Rosita
Sea Star

Faces of HAED:
Faces Rae
Faces of Faery 135
Faces of Faery 88

I pulled out S is For Stitcher from a Cross Country stitching magazine. I started it a few years ago and will post a pic on Sunday night.

My manager was out on Medical leave from Sept 4 - Sept. 12. She came back yesterday. We were very busy while she was gone and when she is gone then I am in charge. So more hours and very tired when I got home. Busy season has hit us hard and way more work than 3 people can handle. But my paycheck is nice :-)

Have a great IHSW!!

August Bue Moon WICapolypse

This is the 2nd WIPocalypse for the month. Since the last one I stitched on more of Faces of Faery 66
I also have been stitching on HAED Aurora's Garden. I want to finish page 2 before putting it back into rotation.
I do not know where the month of August went.
True Blood season finale was last Sunday and what a blood bath that season was. Then Tuesday was the season finale of Pretty Little Liars, shocking parts on that. Now the new shows are on for September. General Hospital is being moved to an hour earlier. Live With Kelly will reveal her new cohost this Tuesday.
Oct 1 is a new show I am dying for. In The 90's and some of 2000s there was a show on ABC Family called Home&Family. It had Christine Ferrari and Chuck Woolery as the hosts. Then Michale Burger took over for Chuck Woolery. It was on for 2 hours in the afternoons and was full of tips and all kinds of things. Well it is back on and will be on the Hallmark Channel from 10am-noon est. It has Mark Steines, who left Entertainment Tonight and Page ? from Trading Spaces. I watched Home & Family faithfully every weekday. I was so upset when they changed the format of ABC Family and let the show go. It is still going to be produced by Woody Frasier. That is one thing I am looking forwards to this fall season.
As for evening shows, I have decided not to pick up any new shoes. I was going to watch Green Arrow and the Beauty & the Beast. But I would rather watch what is left of my shows and then watch more movies/read/listen to audiobooks. I am having a void of not being able to watch Desperate Housewives anymore and the very ending of that was sad.
I have a feeling it is the last season for a few of my shows: Supernatural, Bones, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice. They are long running shows and PP has a few major actors/actresses leaving the show.  No, I haven't heard any rumors. Just my take on the shows.

Have a Happy Labor Day!!! No plans except to go see the Balloon Festival in Dansville, NY.

Please support HAED

If you are a fan and collect their charts, not to mention stitch them, then please read on.

After Michele mentioned on Facebook that she's very concerned about being able to continue her business, citing declining sales, copyright abuse, increasing operating costs and taxes, some stitchers suggested a HAED
 Appreciation Week.

Here's a copy of the message being shared on Facebook:
CALLING ALL BLOGGERS! Please show your support for HAED and Michele Sayetta by considering advertising HAED Appreciation Week on your blog. The event is from Sept 10-14th; during this week we are encouraging all HAED customers to make an extra purchase to support the HAED business so Michele
can continue to provide us with the extraordinary charts we have all come to love.
I know many of us are actively stitching HAED charts, so I thought I'd share this with you.

TUSAL and IHSW

The other day was TUSAL and I didn't get to post til tonight. So the threads in my glass are from:
Marty Bell's Rocky Mountain Christmas, HAED Faces of Faery 66, and HAED Aurora's Garden.

Also this weekend was IHSW and I stitched on HAED Aurora's Garden.

Friday - I got up and got all ready for work. I stepped down into my family room and stepped right on top of the dog's rubber fire hydrant and twisted my ankle so bad. I ended up staying home from work, I couldn't walk very well so kept my foot elevated and iced every once in a while. DH kept yelling at the dog about his stupid toys. The dog is totally mine so he came over and was licking my face with his sad eyes. Ended up propped up on the couch stitching all day an catching up on TV shows that I had DVRd.

Saturday - we went to the Erie County Fair, outside of Buffalo. The boys went with us and Dylan brought Allie and Justin brought his best friend. I ended up being able to walk all day. Saw a wolf show, they are so gorgeous , and monkeys. Gt home and rested my ankle. Didn't really swell up.

Today- Kept an eye on my ankle today. Is a little sensitive but I can walk on it. Watched all the rest of the DVrd shows and just have movies left. Stitched and washed laundry all day. Watched tonight's episode of True Blood. Next Sunday is the season finale.

Have a great night!

HAED Aurora's Garden progress

I pulled out Aurora's Garden from the UFO pile. I haven't stitched on this since April 2010. This is for a very special young woman and it is back in my rotation so I can get it done. Right now I am on page 2 and when that page is done it will get put away until the next rotation. So this is what I have done including stitching last night and today on it.

Last night I got caught up on the General Hospitals that I had DVrd, while the Olympics were on. Tonight was catching up on Pretty Little Liars. Tomorrow night will be True Blood and about 3 weeks worth of Live With Kelly! When I watch Live though they don't take me as long. If I don't care for her co host then I am done after their little chat session. If I don't care for the celebrity that they are interviewing then I skip that part. Thursday night I will try to finish the Live With Kelly's.

Last night I finished the book The Chocolate Pirate Club by Joanna Carl and started The Chocolate Castle Clue by Joanna Carl. I am also listening to Whiplash by Catherine Coulter and am almost 1/2 done with that.

Everyone have a good night.

Closing Ceremony

First I want to say how much I enjoyed the Summer Olympics. I don't usually watch them and was actually quite surprised that it was on every time I was home. Justin even watched them with me. Our Favorite was Misty and Kerri for the Beach Volleyball. I liked our other team too but these 2 had us on the edge of our seats. Synchronized swimming and diving was also another one we got into. I always said I would never watch them , well we did. I am proud of all our teams and the other countries even the ones who didn't get a medal. They made it to the Olympics and should be proud of themselves.
Now I LOVED the opening ceremony but the closing was ok.
Remember I started a new piece for an Olympic challenge? I started it during the Opening Ceremonies and stitched on it til 7 pm last night. My parents invited Justin and I to watch the ceremonies at their house, They bought 2 HD tvs and said we had to come over. So now I want a HD tv lol.

Anyways here is what I did during the Olympics. She will go into my rotation.
HAED Faces of Faery 66
25 ct - 1x1

I also bought 2 new charts since HAED had a 50% sale and who can pass those up. I bought Faces of Feary 81 by JBG and also Boo by Spangler. There are 4 of us starting Boo as a SAL and will start January 1. Should be fun.

I also received a pkg in the mail from a friend, full of specialty floss, tea, bookmarks, 3 cozy mystery books and a HAED. Love getting pkgs in the mail.

Faces of Faery 66 progress

I am still stitching away on this and watching the Olympics. Last night Dylan and Allie decided to come over and hang out. We watched Battleship. Awesome movie. They fell asleep an hour into the movie. They can't keep up with the old lady lol.

Wednesday i went to wash clothes and my wash machine was broken. It was old so yesterday Scott and I went and bought a new one. Nothing fancy.

Supposed to be in the 90s and humid today so you know I will be in my air conditioned family room.

Everyone have a great day!

Aug. 1 WIPocalypse

I don't know where July went. Flew on by. This month there are 2 WIPocalypse to report on.
This time I have 3 pics to share since last month's Wipocalypse.
I finished HAED SK Sunny

I stitched a little bit on Marty Bell's Rocky Mountain Christmas.
Then I joined the bandwagon to have a new Olympic start and only stitch on this during the Olympics, then put it back in my rotation.
This is HAED's Faces of Faery. It was RAKd to me as well.,
____________________________________________________________________________

I finished listening to Knockout by Catherine Coulter. Next up is Whiplash by Catherine Coulter. I am also reading the Chocoholics mysteries by Joanna Carl.

Thanks for visiting and for the comments

an Olympics new start

The other day I was given a gift of a new HAED chart. It is Faces of Faery 66
So after a lot of consideration, I decided to start a new piece and stitch on it through all of the Olympics. I don't ever watch Summer Olympics, I LOVE Winter Olympics. But this year I decided to and it was another first of ever watching the Opening Ceremonies and they were awesome! I was in awe of the whole thing. I have watched the US get a lot of medals, today. So here is where I am at tonight with this piece.

There are large blocks of color so I am hoping to have more progress reports this week.

I have also decided to try a rotation after the Olympics are over. I have it written down and can't wait. Maybe have more finishes done this way and will be able to fit in smalls.

Thanks for visiting and for the comments.

July IHSW

Yes, it was a weekend of stitching for the IHSW. I stitched on Rocky Mountain Christmas. I do have the top half done and this weekend I put in about 700 stitches. I am not showing the whole thing til I get a whole page done. This is the section I worked on.
I started this January 2001 as a SAL and my goal is to finish this by Thanksgiving.

I read a little bit today of The Divide by Nicholas Evans.

I also watched 3 episodes of Live with Kelly and 3 episodes of General Hospital. Then I watched Pixars Cars 2 and tonight's episode of True Blood, which was really gory tonight.

It was another warm and humid day today. The a/c was on for most of the day and will have it on while sleeping.

Thanks for visiting and all the comments. I appreciate them.

July TUSAL

Here is my ort glass for this month. I know I am a couple of days late, for the TUSAL. All the orts are from HAED SK Sunny. The red plastic threads sticking up are from the stitching guides.
This weekend is also IHSW - International Stitching Weekend. I have been stitching on Rocky Mountain Christmas and will post a progress tonight.

Major Happy Dance

She is finished!!
HAED SK Sunny
25 ct eveanweve
1x1
7/5/10-7/17/12

I had Justin draw what my next UFO was to finish and the winner is.......
Rocky Mountain Christmas - Marty Bell

I don't know what I am going to do with Sunny. Probably get her framed and hang her in my family room. Rocky Mountain Christmas was started as a SAL in January of 2001 and is my oldest UFO. This is for me as I love it. Just hate confetti stitching.

I listened to quite a bit of Knock Out by Catherin Coulter and am halfway through it.

Well now you will have to keep your eyes open on my RMC progress.

Sunday, July 15, 2012

Oh so close

I didn't stitch last week because of the heat but I did stitch yesterday and then all day today. Only a little bit more to go on HAED SK Sunny.

Last week I finished reading the Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy. I loved them. I also read Kindred by Octavia E. Butler and I highly recommend that book. Right now I am reading Perfect Match by Jodi Picoult.

DS#1 had totaled his car on July 3. This past week the insurance company agreed it was totaled so they gave him enough to pay off the car and enough for a down payment on a new car. He bought a 2010 green Chevy Cobalt, 5 speed. Really nice car. Still learning how to drive it.
He wasn't hurt in the accident. The car in front of him slammed on their brakes to avoid deer and he slowed down but didn't stop fast enough and hit her. She just had a little paint scraped off her car. It was a 2002 Ford Taurus.

Scott and I will be celebrating our 24th wedding Anniversary on July 16. So yesterday i bought him an outfit. He doesn't like to wear shorts but this summer has been unbearably hot so I bought him cargo shorts, a polo shirt and croc sandals. So he wore it while he took me out for dinner at The Original Crab Shack. Oh sooo good.

Well that's it for now. I will post again when I finish Sunny :-)

July Wipocalypse

How did I miss this the other day? I know it has been a hot and busy week. Anyways since last month's all I have been stitching on is HAED SK Sunny. Same picture as the last post. I am hoping to really get a lot accomplished on her this week. Go check out July's Wipocalypse on Measi's Musings.

Today I also set up my jewlery supplies and made a lot. I will post pics this week.

I also finished Fifty Shades of Gret and Fifty Shades Darker. I am now reading Fifty Shades Freed. The author is E L James.
