This package is from the Cross Stitch Pals Parcel exchange. Thank you so much , RebeccaMI
This is a Dog Days of Summer exchange through The Exchange Place, thank you so much, CathyB

catching up and lots of pics

I have pics of when I dyed my hair. I wanted a deep burgundy but it came out neon red. This is the day that I did it 12/26/05. My parents called me right afterwards and asked me to come to their house. I forgot to warn them that i did this to my hair. My dad took pics and the quotes under each is what my dad wrote on the back of the pics. Also the tshirt is my 14 year old son's shirt which he thought would go with my hair. I have no idea why this shirt fit me as he is a skinny thing.

" And the next time I'm at that hair dressers!*--!!!!!"

"So I told that bitch I hadn't colored my hair before and this is what I got! "

This is one of my cats, Rascal. This is pretty much how we find him asleep in the house. Isn't he adorable :-)

Well I have been sitting in an a/c room since we have been in the 90s and humid. Stitching on an exchange, watching TV and readin the last 3 books of J.D. Robb's In Death books.

DS#1 has started Drivers Ed. He has class Mon-Thur 8am-9. Then drives Mon & Wed 11am-1pm. DS#2 is working at the gas station so I have had to drive him as well. This is a busy summer. We had a graduation party last Saturday, congrats to Tanya. This Saturday is a pig roast with family. I have a cousin getting married this saturday. The wedding is taking place in Colorado. Alot of the family members are going but there is a few of us that can't make it. So congrats to Dennis and Cheri :-)

Catching up

Ok I had just posted alot and clicked on spell check and it erased everything :-(
So here goes again.
I don't know where time goes. I was sick last week. 2 days I had the flu and the rest of the week had sinuses/allergie issues. Plus it had been so darn hot to be on the computer that all I did was read emails.
My model stitching is slowing down so I have more time for my WIPs and UFO. Right now I am stitching on Snowy Forest Evening Stocking on Tues-Fridays. Mondays is ornament day and the weekends for other things.

SBQ:
What is the biggest mishap you have had with your stitching material(i.e. spillages)?
The only time that I had a problem was when stitching a kit and they didn't give me much for extra material on the sides for framing. I don't eat when stitching and when drinking something I set the material aside.

Have you ever used a magnifying glass while stitching? If so, did youfind it helpful?
I bought one that you hang from your neck. I could not use it all. Was to confusing for me LOL.

Rambling

First I want to say a big thank you to those who read my blog and leave comments. it is nice to know that people are reading my blog. I haven't said thank you in a long time :-)

DS#2 had his lasy baseball game last night so sports is now over til the fall. DS#1 plays soccer in the fall.

DS#1 got his learners permit the end of March. he drove and hated it. Well last week he gave it another shot and liked it much better, thank god. he has signed up for drivers ed this summer so i will be busy driving him to school every morning. This should also give him more confidence. He has been looking at cars to buy LOL.

I finished stitching A Year Full Of happy May block but no pic yet.

I am also reading Impossible by Danielle Steel and enjoying it.

Today I plan on watching DVR shows and will be stitching on LK May Stamp.

I am still here

I am behind in posts again. The time just gets away from me. I have been busy reading and stitching though. Watching season and series finales as well. I will have to post my June Golas and what I accomplished in May. DS#1 is all done with Track and DS#2 had his last baseball game on Monday but has 3 makeup games. One is tonight. We were told they might not make up the other 2. I have been wacthing alot of netflix movies in the afternoons and some evenings. Our local library now has wireless, which my son is excited as he has a laptop. I am still on dial up but I am going to the library, to use their computers , every day. This is just taking me way to long. I will read my Juno emails and do my blog, every morning on my computer.
I won a gift certificate for a hair wash, cut and style so I have an appointment at 11:30 for that and the library opens at 1 so I will go there right after that.
Below are some pics of what i have been doing.

I stitched up Bent Creek May Snapper.

LK April Stamp

I stitched up LK February Block

Mondays I put in a few hours on this ornament by Vermillion Stitchery from the 2003 JCS ornament issue. Also on Mondays still stitching up sports ornaments but no pics.

Right now I am stitching on A Year Full of Happy May square.

I have had fun getting back to my reading schedule and will list what I have read when I post my goals :-) Right now I am reading Impossible by Danielle Steel. Pretty good so far.

a sad day

Well I sit here brokenhearted and in tears. I will need group hugs later. As some of you know I have an 18 year old cat who was diagnosed with Kidney disease 2 1/2 years ago. We started to give her IVs and put her on a special diet. other than that she was as healthy as a kitten. Well the past couple of months she started losing a little weight and didn't like the IV anymore. Last week she dropped a significant amount of weight and stopped eating on Thursday and most of Friday. DH said she is done and will die in her sleep. Well we tried to give her an IV and she tore into my hand pretty good. i did get some fluids in her and a few hours later she was perky again and eating. She ate Friday night, all day Saturday and Sunday morning then went back into the funk again and it is now Tuesday morning and she still has not eaten since Sunday morning. She can't seem to get comfortable and i think because she is all bones now that she is having a little trouble walking or she is just dizzy from not eating. i took her to bed with me last night and told her I love her and she is such a good girl and she has permission to go to the rainbow bridge. This morning she is still with us and I am making an appointment with the vet today so she can join my other cats and dogs at the rainbow bridge. This is the best thing for her and she has led a great life. We have 4 other cats who are not lap cats and lovey. She is my stitching cat and always loved to be held and carried on my shoulders, except for the past week. I will have a very big void in my life without her.

Mondays Musings

This is my big baby. he is a rottie/shepherd mix and just loves people and other animals. he is 5 years old. I adopted him from a shelter in 2002 and he was 1 1/2 years old. Pretty much potty trained and very well behaved. Next time I will share pics of my cats.

Last week I finished Twisted Oaks model of the last Baltimore Quilt square. I also finished reading Broken Prey by John Sandford.

I then stitched on LK January Block and finished that. Then stitched up April from A year Full of Happy by San Sarah Designs. This was a 24 hour challenge on Becky's Friends Gather board.

Today I will stitch on a sports ornament and then start LK April Stamp. I also have started to read Shepherds Abiding by Jan Karon.

Last week I watched 1 movie:Honeymoon With Mom on Lifetime Movie channel, on Mother's Day. Was a good movie. I just love the Lifetime movies and Hallmark movies.

DS#2 has a baseball game tonight and DS#1 has a Track meet tomorrow night. they are calling for periods of rain all week so I am hoping it doesn't rain during any of their sports events.

SBQ of the week

When you stitch from a kit and use the supplied floss do you have leftovers? If so, how much and what do you do with them? If not, do you usually have just enough or do you have to dig into your stash to finish?

If the kit does not use DMC then I will use my DMC by figuring out which colors to use. I do use the floss in kits for the small Mill Hill kits and other small kits like that. I have never run out and always have some extra left. I do not keep the floss from kits. I have always thrown them out.

SBQ of the week

Do you or have you stitched with over-dyed threads? (Weeks Dye Works,The Gentle Art Sampler Threads, Six Strand Sweets, etc.) If so, what isyour opinion concerning them? If not, why not?

I have been stitching with overdyeds for years now and I just love them. They add a little pizzazz and dimension to the pieces. I have used Weeks Dye Works, gentle Arts Sampler Threads, and a little bit of the others.

Mondays Musings

Spring is here. We have had beautiful weather and the flowers are coming up, buds on the trees. I noticed today that the dandelions are out. I love them even though most people try to kill them out of their yards. It gives a yard color and gives me fond memories of childhood.

Stitching - I have been stitching on a model for SzuLet Creations and is almost done but I ran out of floss so as soon as that comes in I can finish it. I started Lk January Block. All of them will be done on one piece of fabric. I also have the last model, for Twisted Oaks designs, of the Baltimore Quilt Block, on the way. I think I will stitch up a sports ornament today to add to the pile.

Reading- I finished A Murderous Yarn by Monica Ferris and it was really good. I have pulled out Broken Prey by John Sandford, but haven't started it yet.

Movies watched last week:
Falling In love with the Girl Next Door
Double Cross
Hangman's Curse
Mcbride: Fallen Idol
Curring Edge 2: Going For the Gold
Nora Robert's Sanctuary
Safe Harbor
The Wedding date
Our House
Cursed
The Interpreter

DS#1 had a Track invitaional on saturday and it was gorgeous weather for that. he did real well. Tomorrow he has Track Meet at home and DS#2 has his first baseball game, of the season, away game.

Going to go and watch Nascar since it was a rain delay yesterday.

Missing all of you

I dropped a couple of Yahoo groups and by what a difference in emails. I can keep up with them now. I also have time to get to the EZboards and am catching up on everyones blogs. If I don't post it is because I have nothing to say but I do read them.
I tried leaving a comment last night ona c ouple but all I got was eblog is down for maintanence.
I am stitching a model for Szulet creations and it is coming along nicely. I will have the last quilt block to stitch fro Twisted Oaks Desings, next week, I think.
I haven't stitched on anything of mine in so long that I miss them. I am so far behind on my SAL goals on Becky's BB and they are Christmas gifts so I need to catch up on them.
I watched 3 movies last week:
Broken Flowers - Dumb
In Love and war
Dark water

This week I am watching alot of Lifetime Movies that I had DVRd.

Reading- I finished Death on Demand by Carolyn Hart and I want to read the rest in this series. Now I am reading A Murderous Yarn by Monica Ferris. So far it is good. If anyone is in the US and wants to trade books please join readnswap at Yahoo groups. I get alot of good books to read that way.

DS#1 has a Track meet tonight at the school, next town over. But they are calling for rain, winds, thunderstorms. If they don't cancel the meet I don't know if I am going. I certainly don't want to stand out there and get sick.

I am here :-) and SBQ of the week

I have not fallen off the earth. It just has been crazy fitting Blog time in. I had to drop a coule of yahoo groups as I couldn't keep up.
I finished a model for Twisted Oaks, have another one here for SzuLet Creations and another will be on the way in a week from Twisted Oaks Designs. I also had 3 RRs sitting here so I finished them this week as well.
been playing alot of computer games. I bought some and some my parents had bought. been back into reading , just finished London Bridges by James patterson and also Death on Demand by Carolyn Hart. Am getting ready to read A Murderous Yarn by monica Ferris.

STITCHING BLOGGERS QUESTION:
Do you do obligation or deadline-based stitching? Why or why not? Ifyou do, do you tend to get in over your head and why?

I do model stitching which has dead lines and I am fine with that but I get overwhelmed when I keep joining SALs and give myself deadlines. I can't ever keep up with them or my rotations. Makes me crazy LOL. I very seldom buy a pattern to do a SAL. I mostly join ones that I already own the patterns for.

Still around

I have had a pretty busy time lately and falling behind on posting to my blog and haven't read any of yours in over a week. Last week I ran the Middle school book fair. So now I am playing catch up this week. I have been stitching a model piece for twisted Oaks and took a break to stitch up BC April Snapper, which will be done today. Then back to the model piece.
I have 3 books up for grabs. They are registered with http://www.bookcrossing.com and you don't have to be a member to say you found the book , you can do it unanimously. I prefer to send to the US but will mail it out of the country for someone who would really like the book. I Have:
Someone To Watch Over Me - Judith MacNaught - paperback
Kill The Messenger - Tami Hoag - hardcover
Bag of Bones - Stephen King - hardcover

just let me know if you are interested in them. I had already posted them through my Readnswap Yahoo group. great group for swapping books with and for US members only due to shipping costs.
