picture heavy and a finish

I have my ornament finished

Little House Needleworks
Glory To God
32 ct Sassy's Fabbys Desert Sandstorm
4/29/10 - 9/27/10
Ok so let's start with my craft room before. My room is small. 8'x8' so I couldn't get the whole room in.
This is the cubbyhole area. The top shelf has things of the boys', that I don't want to throw out. Lincoln log sets, baseball cards and other collector's cards.

Under the shelves I will be buying a rollaway drawer organizer for all of my cotton fabrics that I use to finish my cross stitch pieces.

This is a small area where my chair will go. That will be one of purchases when taxes come in, in March.

This is the wall that I will have 4 of the 6' shelves. I bought 2 shelves and the brackets yesterday. Scott said he will put them up this week and then this coming weeks paycheck I will buy the other 2 shelves with brackets. I also bought some fabric bins today for my projects.

Couldn't fit much of this wall in. Most of it is a window. No curtains so a blanket is over it for now. I will be buying blinds for the window. Under the window will be my sewing/scrapbook table. It will only come out when I am using it. Folds up nicely. On the left side of the window Scott will be putting a small wire shelf to hold my spools of ribbons.

This was the closet. Scott wants to put 2x2s on the wall so that nothing hits the water pipes. My file cabinet will be going in here and I will be buying a scrapbook roll a way cart to hold my papers and stickers. He also will be putting in a small shelf with 2 holes in it. I will buy glasses to fit into it and they will hold my markers/pens and scissors. The cherry wood you see leaning against the wall is one of the cherry cabinets.

I can't wait til this is done. But it will all come down if Dylan moves back home. he has been told we love him and the door is still open if he can't find a job right away, after school is all done.

This is how far I have gotten on Cat-O-Lantern. I will be stitching on it more today. While stitching I watched: Nikita, Smallville, Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries.
Last weekend I met up with Gail and Gisele so here are the picture:
Gisele, me, Gail
Gisele really did stitch :-)
and so did Gail

We had an awesome time. Someone asked me what stash I bought:
JCS 2010 Christmas ornament issue
2 Santa tin kits
Mill Hill Buttons & Beads winter series- Gingerbread House

That is all I bought for cross stitching.

Then I wanted to buy 3 Zentangle books but the bookstores didn't carry them. I did buy a sketchpad and the micro pens. I then ordered the Zentangle books online and still have 1 more to buy. When I start drawing I will post pics.

I know, it's been awhile

I have been stitching on a RR so no pics.

Last weekend I FINALLY got to meet Gisele(no blog) and Gail (no blog). Gisele was one of my first online friends since March 1999. She joined my Yahoo group from the beginning and she sews together my cross stitched stockings, and does a wonderful job. I met Gail through her, about 2 years ago, with an RR group. Both of these wonderful women are from Canada. They drove here to NY for some stash shopping and we spent 2 nights in a local hotel. Some stitching was done and stash shopping with me. I can not wait to go to Canada and visit with them. Am hoping for next summer. I did take pics but need to get them on my computer.

Dylan also came home last weekend. Since I was gone most of the weekend I did spend some time with him on Sunday. We went grocery shopping and I was able to give him some money. He still needs a job.

My craft room is slowly being worked on. I will be taking pics as well, this weekend. I am in a Freecycle Yahoo group , for my area and I had posted that i wanted a file cabinet. I got a hit and it is tall with 4 drawers, metal and came from a Navy ship so very sturdy and in mint shape. So once I get a chance to put it where I want, then my leaflets, charts and freebies will be going in it. Right now Scott is fixing some of the floor so I can put things in my craft room.

My stitching goal this week is to finish the RR, stitch a little on HAED SK Sunny, finish Cat-O-Lantern and start some small pumpkin pieces for a 2010 Pumpkin challenge with BeckySC.

I am hoping to be back into blogging every day.

The RR is done

I finished it tonight and have another square to do on another one sitting here. Then I think I have one more to stitch on. I really like this RR group and they want to do another one the beginning of the year. The thing is I think I want to skip a year. I have so many WIps and UFOs that I really want to get done. Also some new starts :-) There are things that I also would like to stitch and start doing small giveaways or random acts of kindness.
On top of that I would like to set aside 1 night a week and start doing Zentangles as they look like so much fun. I plan on buying 1 book this week, a sketchbook and some markers.

Tonight I finished the Audiobook: The Shack by William P. Young. It is a very moving book. Next up on my ipod is Hold Tight by Harlan Coben.

Thanks for the comments, love them.

Changing some ideas

on my craft room. After seeing a few others and since my room is small I want to do a change. I am not going to leave the craft table out all the time. Takes up most of a wall space. I will leave it out til I am done sewing for a while or when done scrap booking for a while. I want to get a "Happy Chair" in there so I can sit and stitch. I thought about a TV but not much room so I will set up my laptop and can watch DVDs or movies/TV shows online or listen to my audio books. This is all going to be slow going since it takes money and I can only spend a little at a time. My main object is to get the shelves up and my crafts organized. I also am getting a new floor.

Thank you for all of the prayers for my MIL. She gets to go home Wednesday. She is walking and may need to lean on FIL and she was told to walk slow and think about what she is doing. I am happy for her.

Tonight I stitched on a RR while watching TV and listening to my audio book.

TV:
General Hospital
House - season premier and really good.

Audio book:
The Shack - William P. Young

Counting down to Friday when I get to finally meet an online friend , that I have known for 11 years. Another one of our friends is bringing her so I get to meet Gail as well. I have only known her for 1-2 years. Stitching and stash shopping this weekend, woohoo!!

Halloween Sunday

I cleaned up the rest of the craft room. Added a few things in there, to get out of the way from where they were. Spent some time on the computer looking up more Zentangle. Then sat and stitched on Cat-O-Lantern. Love this piece.

I watched a few movies as well:
17 Again - really good
Land of the Lost- sucked
The 19th Wife- Lifetime Movie and really good

Tomorrow will be back to stitching on the RR.

Thanks for the comments, I appreciate them

Night and {{{hugs}}}

Friday SAT

Friday night was a SAT with Lets Stitch blog and Stitching Sisters Yahoo group. I pulled out LHN Glory To God from the JCS 2008 issue. I had started it in March. While stitching I started listening to The Shack by William P. Young. Very good.

Saturday :
Scott, Justin and I went to the Farmer's Market and the a local store to buy meat. Later on Scott and I went to Walmart so I could get another photo box for my specialty threads. Then to Home Depot to get a clothes rod for Justin's closet and I wanted to look at and price shelving for my craft room. Found what I wanted and am going to go with Cherry shelves. I will buy a little bit at a time.

When I came home I read friend's blogs and I was reading

RR stitching

I woke up this morning with a migraine and have never had one this bad. I had to keep the covers over my eyes and then when I did get up around 9:30 I wore sunglasses. it was not sunny out either. Was a gloomy day and rainy. The migraine lifted around noon to just a headache and it is almost gone at 10pm. Don't know why I got it and don't want another one like that again.
I did have the TV on while resting.
I watched:
Regis & Kelly
Nate Barkus
Rachel Ray
General Hospital

Because of the migraine I didn't go to work. Although I felt guilty not going in, due to it being busy, I wouldn't have been any good to them at work. I also did not make it to Weight Watchers.

Once the headache was almost gone then I did some laundry and pulled out some stitching. Pulled out an RR that I want to have done by next Friday. I started listening to The Shack by William P. Young.
Then TV for tonight was The Vampire Diaries and Nikita.

Hopefully tomorrow will be much better. I have had a head cold all week and that is almost gone as well.

I did get a txt from Dylan that he is coming home next weekend. I won't be home most of the weekend since I am finally meeting my Canadian friend Gisele and another Canadian friend Gail. I have known Gisele since March 1999 when I got my first computer and went online. I am sooo excited.

Halloween Sunday

I finally picked up my needle after 2 weeks of no stitching. Felt pretty good.
Scott has started working on my craft room. Taking out the closet and we are going to put shelves up.

Friday night we visited Scott's mom and the family all got together to eat in the cafeteria. She is now in a nursing home for rehab. She can walk with a walker and needs to get her strength back. Thanks for the prayers. I appreciate them
Saturday morning I went to the Farmer's Market and bought a bunch of veggies and fruit. Didn't really do anything else. While doing laundry and cleaning around the house I finished listening to Playing For Pizza by John Grisham. The next Audiobook is The Shack by William P. Young.

So today I finished the laundry and pulled out Cat-O-Lantern. I got quite a bit done on the pumpkin. Really love stitching on this piece.
While I stitched I watched Tv:
General Hospital - 9/9 , 9/10
The Vampire Diaries
Nikita - new CW show
True Blood Finale

a crazy 2 weeks

last week I was doing laundry and getting ready to move Dylan to PA. Saturday we took off and moved him into his apartment. He will be going to UTI in Exton, PA. His 2 roommates were classmates of his, in high school. They are also going to the school. It is a nice apartment. We had picked out our route on a travel map and I took the GPS. We made a few adjustments and now have it figured out. I left the GPS with the boys. We came back home Sunday night. I had Monday off, from work, and started cleaning up the empty bedroom. It needs new carpet and curtains and will be my craft room. Scott and I got up early yesterday morning to head to PA again. Dylan had registration yesterday and today was orientation. They also had a room set up for orientation with the parents. Very informative. The boys like the town and have been using the GPS a lot. I left it with them again and will get it back in October. They decided to head to Philly today and check it out. They did not like it. The traffic was nuts and people are not friendly. Dylan looked at a guy and was told that if Dylan looked at him again that the guy would punch Dylan in the head. Real nice way to treat people and make a good impression. They have tried meeting people in Exton as well and people turn their noses up and walk away. Western NY is not like that. Everyone says hi and he meets new people all the time from other towns. So this is a huge adjustment for the boys.
Well I am really tired and need to get to bed. I am hoping to pick up a needle tomorrow night. Haven't stitched in almost 2 weeks.

My Mil is still in the hospital. She did have a stroke which has affected her walking. She will be going to rehab. Please continue to keep her in your prayers.

Thursday, September 02, 2010

prayers please

Sorry I have been MIA. No stitching happening this week. I don't think I will be able to pick up a needle til Monday. Cleaning and doing all the laundry. Work has picked up so we have been busy. I had my WW wi in today and I have lost a total of 5.2 lbs, woohoo!

My MIL went in the hospital a couple of days ago and is very sick. She was sick over the weekend and then got weak and couldn't hardly walk. My SILs took her to the doctors and he sent her to the hospital. She was dehydrated and her potassium level is way low. She can't walk and her speach is a little slurry. So they ran blood tests and did a cat scan. She didn't have a stroke but they have a found a small black spot on the cat scan. She also has an UTI. They will not send her home til her potassium level is better and she can walk.

Also this weekend is when we move Dylan to Pennsylvania. We leave early Saturday morning and will get there early afternoon. Supposed to rain so we got a tarp for the truck. He will be sharing an apartment with 2 other boys , that he graduated with and are going to the same school. Universal Technical Institute. He will be learning auto mechanics, Diesel and Ford. It is an 18 month program. He gets Christmas week off but no spring break or summer break. When he is done with this program then he plans on furthering his career and taking a program for porsches. I have been real calm about all of this til this afternoon and it finally hit me lol.

So DH and I will be spending Saturday night there and coming home on Sunday. Then returning Wednesday around noon as Dylan has registration and I have to pay a few things on that. Thursday morning is orientation and I want to be there for that. I also looked and there are a lot of cross stitch stores in the areas of where we will be traveling. I won't hit any on this trip but you know I will on other trips when we visit him.

Justin started his Junior year at SUNY(State University NY) Brockport and likes his professors. he has full days Monday, Wed, and Fri and no classes on Tuesday and Thursday. He likes his new job at Starbucks/Target.

Oh well I am sure you are all snoozing now so I will go :-)

finished the exchange piece

I haven't had much to say. I didn't stitch for a couple of days so today I vowed to finish the exchange and I just did, a few minutes ago.

Sunday is my grocery shopping day and Dylan usually goes with me. So today was our last day to do this as he moves next Saturday. I am excited for him but nervous at the same time. My baby is leaving us, to go to school, out of state, for 18 months.

I pulled out my stitching and got caught up on General Hospital. Can't believe what the tramp did , on Friday. If you watch it then you know who I mean. I also watched tonight's episode of True Blood. The season finale is in 2 weeks.

Not much else going on.

Working out

No pics again tonight.
Movie night with Dylan. We watched Cop Out with Bruce Willis. Hilarious movie. Then he pulled out the cards and we played euchre. It was nice without us fighting. 18 know it all most of the time lol. Plus him moving to PA makes it an emotional time for both of us.
I stitched on the exchange piece as well.

Got out of work a little early again today. Did my thing online and then worked out for 15 minutes with Disco Abs and walked a mile At Home. Felt great! But out of shape lol.

I think I am going to play with my stash before I go to bed.

Night all and thanks to my readers and for those who leave comments. Means a lot to me.

This and That

No pics today. I can't show what I am stitching on as it is an exchange piece and it was due in July. So getting it done this week. I don't know why I kept forgetting about it. The person also reads my blog.

Work was dead today so did some cleaning up of things and making bags, thrilling :-)

I have been renting exercise DVDs from the library to see what ones I might like to buy. Well today I worked out with 3 of them:
*Leslie Sansone Walk At Home 5 Mile Fat Burning Walk - A definate one I loved and will buy.
*Chery Burke presents Disco Abs - oh yeah , loved it. Took the time to teach you moves and a good workout
*Fame Dance Workout - way to advanced for me.

Pulled out my cross stitching and watched General Hospital. Then I listened to the audiobook Cruel Intent by J.A. Jance. Then watched a Lifetime movie called Bond of Silence, based on a true story. Very good.

I weigh myself almost every morning with my Wii and I lost another 3 lbs since Thursday. I am hoping that it is right.

SAL weekend

I stitched a lot this weekend. Scott mentioned visiting his parents yesterday but we never did. I don't know why he changed his mind. So we were home all day and so I stitched. it was a SAT with OOE BB and Stitching Sisters Yahoo group. I got quite a bit done. The TV was one but I never watched a whole movie.I did manage to get more done on HAED SK Sunny.

Today I woke up to rain. It was cool out as well, which I enjoyed. So after getting things done online I pulled out Springberry Kreek Cat-O-Lantern. Sunday is Halloween SAL with Stitching Sisters Yahoo group. I got the top part of the cat done and started working on the pumpkin. I have loved this design since I bought it in 1999 and am so glad that I finally pulled it out.
Today I did watch a lot of TV. I watched General Hospital from Friday and oh the ending had me so mad.
Then I watched a few Lifetime Movies that I had DVRd:
One Hot Summer
Joy Fielding's The Other Woman
Gospel of Deceit

Tonight I watched True Blood. Only 2 episodes left for the season.

I am still doing well eating healthy and staying with Weight Watchers and eating the points. I learned to eat more of the filling foods and it does work. The Wii said that I have lost 3 lbs since Thursday morning. Not sure how accurate it is.

Weigh In Thursday

We had another new employee start today. I knew who she was because her son is friends with my son. She is very nice and I believe will fit in real well.

I got out of work early so I checked on emails, facebook and blogs before going to WW meeting. I weighed in and lost 1.8 lbs for a total of 3 lbs in 2 weeks.

I came home and fixed a Mexican salad. I had one at Lovin' Cup on Saturday. It was really good so I made one close to it. It was really good and healthy.

Then I sat down and stitched on HAED SK Sunny and watched 3 episodes of General Hospital. I am caught up for the week.

Thank you for those who read my blog and/or leave comments. I appreciate it.

HAED update

It has been a movie every night this week. Last night Justin and I watched Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief. Very good movie that we rented from netflix. Tonight's movie Dylan and I picked out from the library. Couples Retreat. Very funny.

I did stitch on HAED SK Sunny while watching the movie. I also listened to a new audiobook on my ipod. Cruel Intent by J.A. Jance. Very good so far.
If you remember on Monday i had told you about the new employee at work. We liked her and she liked the work. Well Tuesday morning she came in early and said she wasn't staying. She was really upset and having troubles breathing. Seems she had an allergic reaction from work , the day before. She had been up all night with health problems. She felt horrible that she had to quit but her health was more important. She was in tears and we felt horrible for her. Of course her health is more important. She thanked us and said we made her feel welcomed. We were very sorry to see her go. So we have a new employee starting tomorrow. Hopefully she will work out.

Tomorrow is WW and I get weighed. I will post a progress on that. Hopefully I lost weight :-)

Thank you for those who leave comments. They mean a lot to me.

Crazy Mondays

A new work week. We had the new employee start today. She seems nice. She said it was overwhelming. I know she will catch on quick. Couldn't finish our work since the power went out and everything we do runs by electricity. I have no idea if the manager was able to finish.
Came home and read emails, some blogs and Facebook.
Then did some laundry while stitching. I got more white done on her face. I also watched Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. It was cute.

HAED SK Sunny

Halloween Sunday

Today is Halloween SAL with Stitching Sisters Yahoo group. I got some more backstitching done on the left side and more stitching on the right side. I watched Life on the DVR. It was from 4/18. Then I watched a movie from LMN. It was called Ring of Deceit and was on my DVR. Also watched tonight's episode of True Blood, on HBO. Only 3 episodes left for the season.

Springberry Creek - Cat-O-Lantern
28 ct white evenweave

This weekend was busy. I forgot to scan what I did on HAED SK Sunny, on Friday night. I watched a few episodes of General Hospital and the finale of Pretty Little Liars.

Saturday I had my bookcrossing meeting but my mom was the only one who showed up. I had a mexican salad, very good and within my WW points. Then when I got home Scott and I went to the Erie County Fair. The company I work for is a sponsor plus we did work for the forage feed that was there. Because of that I got free tickets. We spent 3-4 hours walking and enjoying it all. I had my yearly Gyro, mmm and used 15 WW points and so I used some of my weekly WW point allowance. I did real well this weekend with WW.

Today Dylan and I went grocery shopping. Buying healthy sure is expensive but will be well worth it.

Thursday, August 12, 2010

HAED SK Sunny

This is what I have accomplished all week, on HAED SK Sunny. I was hoping to finish the column.

Dylan's 2 friends from his class, are also going to PA with him to the same school. They found an apartment and move Sept. 4. Registration is that wednesday and orientation is Thursday.
Justin started training for his new job at Target. He will go back to school in 2 weeks and will be a Junior at SUNY Brockport.

I am still doing well with WW and lost 1.2 lbs since last Thursday.
I have also been working out with the Wii. The thing is my cat, Molly always wants my attention and keeps climbing on the Wii board and curling up between my feet. I have to keep moving her.

I didn't go to the movies this week, with Justin so nothing to report. I have been watching all the General Hospital episodes this week.

Well I am getting tired so chat again real soon :-)

Halloween SAL

Today is Halloween SAL with the Stitching Sisters Yahoo group. So I pulled out Cat-O-Lantern by Springberry Kreek. This seems to stitch up quick in the hours that I work on it.

This morning I went to Wegmans and got groceries for the week. Dylan wanted to sleep in and I couldn't wake up Justin so I went by myself.
Got some things done online and played a little bit of Sims2.

While stitching I listened to a couple of chapters of Hand of Evil by J.A. Jance. Then I watched a Lifetime Movie Network and the movie was The Devil's Teardrop. I think it was based on a book by Jeffery Deaver. I am also pretty sure that I read the book a few years ago. It was a good movie.

WW:
worked out with the Wii Fit for 30 minutes. That is including the free jogging for 10 minutes , which had me sweating up a storm.

Saturday SAT

Saturday was another SAT. This time with Only One Ewe BB and Stitching Sisters Yahoo group. I put in quite a few stitches on HAED SK Sunny. This is also a SAL with the HAED BB and the SK SAL runs from Aug. 6-Aug 12. Today is Halloween SAT for me but tomorrow I will be back on SK Sunny.

Scott decided to go to Walmart yesterday. So we stopped for lunch at the Omega Grill in Geneseo. I had a cajun steak sandwich. So I used my weekly 35 WW points to have that. Since he likes to eat somewheres every Saturday I save my points then.
I bought kitchen scales for the food. I bought the last box that I need to organize the Misc. brands of overdyed floss.
While I wasa stitching I was watching movies:
Patricia Cornwell's At Risk
Patricia Cornwell's The Front
I enjoyed them both.

Justin bought me Wii Sports Resort back in April and I finally pulled it out and played for an hour so I burned some calories as I don't sit and play. I stand and move right along and get right into it all.

a little bit of this and a little bit of that (picture heavy)

Tuesday night is family night with my boys. Dinner and a DVD. We ended up watching Hot Tub Time Machine. I rated it 3 stars. The storyline was good and the acting but the use of the F word was a little to much by one character.

Wednesday night was movie night at the theater. I took Justin to see Charlie St. Cloud and it is an awesome movie and we rated it 5 stars. You will need kleenex! Zac Efron does an amazing job in this movie.

Thursday I worked til 3 and I wanted to join Weight Watchers that evening. Well it starts at 4:45 and in the same town where I work. I did not want to drive back home only to have to turn around again and go to the other side of the town I was already in. So I took my laptop and went to a new coffee shop in Batavia, NY. It is called Coffee Culture and I really liked it in there. It is open late at night and they have a wide variety of coffees, teas, chillers (smoothies) and breakfast food, sandwiches , wraps, and soups. I just got a chiller , which was very good. They also have free wifi, hence my taking my laptop. I left there at 4:30 and headed to WW. I joined and got weighed and my slider and little booklet to get started. I have been doing Weight watchers for 2 weeks with my mom's WW stuff that she doesn't use anymore. I enjoyed the meeting.

Today I got out of work at noon because we weren't busy and I already had in enough hours. I wanted to go for a walk but the sky looked like it was going to rain. So instead I worked out with Wii Fit Plus. I have not used it since April. Well since then I have lost almost 9 pounds. I am thinking because of my eating healthy the past 2 weeks. Anyways I worked out for 30 minutes and burned 172 calories. So I feel pretty good about that. I will post about my accomplishments at the end of every post.
Then I pulled out HAED SK Sunny. Tonight was a SAT with Let's Stitch blog and Stitching Sisters Yahoo group. I watched 3 episodes of this weeks General Hospital and then a Hallmark movie was on tonight: Lies Between Friends, which was really good. I got a few squares done on Sunny.
I forgot to tell you. Monday I finished getting all of my DMC on the bobbins and into the Jammers. Woohoo!!! It felt great to get that done after several years. I need to buy 1 photo box with index labels so I can store the Misc. overdyed brands that I have. Then all of my floss will be done.
I also have started listening to Hand of Evil of J.A. Jance and am enjoying it.

Well I guess I am caught up for the week.
Tomorrow I hope to stitch more, on HAED SK Sunny.

Saturday SAT and Sunday Halloween SAL

I stitched on Joan Elliott's Spring Angel, for a few hours on Saturday. This is a SAL with Only One Ewe BB and Stitching Sisters Yahoo group.

It also was a Movie day with Lifetime Movie Network. Scott and I watched:
Total Stranger
Cyber Seduction: His Secret Life
Seven Deadly Sins

Sunday was a SAL for Halloween with the Stitching Sisters Yahoo group. So I pulled out Cat-O-Lantern and got quite a bit done on it.
Before I stitched , Scott and I went to an Antique tractor and truck show. Not my kind of thing but Scott wanted to go and since he does a lot for me then I went along. We just walked around once and never stopped to really look at one. Don't know why, There also was a flea market but I didn't find anything. Came home and pulled out my stitching and watched Lifetime Move Network again.

Watched:
Living With the Enemy- saw this before
Ann Rule's To Late to Say Goodbye

I have decided to go to a Weight Watchers meeting. I have been following it for a week and doing really well with eating healthy and staying within my points. Even went out for a sub yesterday. Had a 6" roast beef on Wheat with veggies and a little oil. Normally I have it on Italian sub roll with mayo as well as oil and I usually order a whole sub. So this was a big change for me but I didn't feel that i deprived myself. So there is a meeting by me on Thursdays at 5:15. The problem is it is in the town where I work and I get out of work at 3. I don't want to go back home, after work since it is a 20 minute drive one way. Then when I go to the meeting it is on the other side of the town where I work. There is a Starbucks and another coffee shop so I just need to find out if they have free wifi. I can order a coffee or tea and spend time on the internet before going to my meeting.

Friday SAT

I didn't stitch much this week. Justin and I went to the movies on Thursday and saw Despicable Me 3D. Loved the movie. Laughed so hard I had tears pouring down my face.
Then we went grocery shopping. Him and I are doing Weight Watchers. My mom gave me all her stuff so Justin and I have been fun buying for that and eating healthier. But then I had to buy other food for Scott and Dylan. They don't eat here much so not a problem. Then I went to a couple of websites and even found one for points in restaurant food. Some days I can't eat all the points I need and some days I go over 1 point. I have learned so much online from other weight watcher members.

My coworker let me borrow all 3 High School Musicals. So last night I stitched on Joan Elliott's Spring Angel for the SAT with Let's Stitch blog and Stitching Sister's Yahoo group. I didn't get a lot stitched on this as I was watching the TV more than stitching. I did get this much done on it.
I plan on stitching on more of this today. Not to hot this morning so I will clean and I have no plans for today. Maybe just veg out.

Have a question

As I finish things in my goal list, to the right. How do I put a line through it instead of deleting it? Thanks for all of you who can help me.

Halloween SAL day

Sunday with the Stitching Sisters Yahoo group is for Halloween stitching. Last week I started Cat-O-Lantern and I finished the tail today. Working on the cat's body next.

Dylan and I went and visited with my parents before going grocery shopping. My mom has all of her Weight Watchers stuff so i picked that up. Seems simple enough.
Then Justin vacuumed the house and furniture while I went around spraying everything with a flea spray and gave the dog a bath.
Sat down with my stitching and listened to a couple of chapters from Web of Evil by J.A. Jance. Then at 9 True Blood came on.

Thank you for those who have been leaving comments. I do try to reply back to you. I am getting out of my funk and feeling a little better. I appreciate all of you.

HAED Happy Dance!!!!

My first HAED finish Woohoo!!!
I stitched this as part of the SAL with the HAED BB. I have 3 other HAEDs that I need to finish.

Tonight was Friday SAT with the Let's Stitch blog and Stitching Sister's Yahoo group. I ended up watching 3 movies tonight.
She's Out of My League 4 stars
Get Smart 3 stars
The Haunting of Molly Hartley 3 stars

Yesterday we had our work done by noon so I left work, took Scott out for lunch and then later on I took Justin to the movies. We saw The Sorcerer's Apprentice , which was a 5 star. Great graphics.
Then I went to A.C. Moore. I love their pads of paper that are $1. Plus I bought little wooden cutouts of ladybugs, butterflies, bees and dragonflies. I had the round magnets at home so I made needle minders out of them.
Then I went to Joann's Etc. since they have fabric and I love the project bags through Stitch a Gift and I change mine every month. I have 6 or 7 of them now and wanted some made with material that I picked out so I will be sending those fabrics onto the ladies to make them for me.
I am winding the 3800's on bobbins now but I ran out of bobbins so I am hoping to pick up more tomorrow. Plus I have a bag of DMC that are a mix of numbers that need to be wound. I see the light at the end of the tunnel :-)

I'm So Excited and I just can't hide it!!

That song has been going through my head the last 15 minutes I was up stitching on this. LOOK!!! It is almost done. Now I am getting antsy LOL.

I plan on going to the movies tomorrow after work, so I may not get it done tomorrow. But I know I will get it done on Friday.

I watched General Hospital and wound more floss on bobbins. All the 3700's DMC are now wound and tomorrow I will get them in numerical order in the Jammer. I will need to buy some more bobbins though for the next set of DMC numbers.

Then I pulled out my Ipod and listened to a few more chapters of Web of Evil by J.A. Jance. Great series.

Tonight's movie was Footloose. It was on CMT and since Justin and I saw the musical on Sunday he had informed me that he never saw the movie. So for about my 30th time seeing it we watched it together. He loved the movie!

Tuesday movie/family night

It is Tuesday again and a Netflix night. We watched The Bounty Hunter with Jennifer Aniston. Funny movie.
Then Pretty Little Liars came on and Justin and I watched that.
When that was over I put it on General Hospital and wound more floss on bobbins. I am at the 3700s DMC now.
While watching the movie and Pretty Little Liars I stitched some more on HAED SK Mermaid of the Deep. I got more of the flesh done and some of the tail. I am sure hoping it will be done the end of this week.

I have been feeling like I am in a funk. Not sure if it the changes going on this year or what. I feel time for a change and want to move out of state but Scott won't move. Then I feel like maybe I should just pack up my stuff, the dog and my cat and just go by myself and start over a new chapter in my life. Not sure where this is all coming from. Justin is in college and Dylan is moving to PA. I am ready for a change. I have been living in this house or I should say trailer for almost 23 years and am bored. It is old and Scott doesn't want to put money into it but he doesn't want a mortgage either so he doesn't want to buy a new place. Scott has had to work OT since February with no end in sight so I only get to spend time with him on Saturdays and this is getting really old as well. I am grateful that he has a job but they also take advantage of that and making it mandatory OT. My stitching friends all live out of state and the one that I have here I haven't seen since March. She is always busy.Anybody else ever feel like this?

Thanks for the comments that are being left, I really appreciate them.

busy day at work

The day started out slow at work, Monday you know. Then a mistake was made but was able to be fixed , no big deal. Just one of those days and we got done late. Got caught up on reading Bulletin Boards(proboards and another one). Read a couple of blogs :-)

Then sat and watched General Hospital and wound floss on bobbins. I might be able to get this done this week, well then again I did find more extra floss lol.

Then pulled out my stitching and watched a movie, Mr. Woodcock. Has Billy Bob Thornton and Susan sarandon in it. Billy Bob played Mr. Woodcock and I really wanted to reach through the TV and slap him. He was a terrible teacher. I also watched tonight's episode of Rizzoli & Isles. Not sure if I want to continue watching this series. I do like Angie Harmon but she plays the same kind of roles over and over again so it seems like I am watching the same show. She needs to broaden her acting career and they need some new blood out there.

I did manage to get quite a bit done on HAED SK Mermaid of the Deep. I am really hoping to finish it this week.

This weekends events

FRIDAY:
Happy 22nd Anniversary to my sweet husband. Unfortunately he had to work.
I stitched for the SAT with Let's Stitch blog and Stitching Sisters Yahoo group. I stitched on HAED SK Mermaid of the Deep.
I also watched General Hospital and the movie Fred Clause.
This is how much progress that I made.

SATURDAY: I stitched for a few hours on HAED SK Mermaid of the Deep. I watched 2 movies. Speed racer , which was cute and then Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2.
The SAT today was with Only One Ewe BB and stitching Sisters Yahoo group.
Scott took me out for dinner for our Anniversary. We went to a new place to us in Clarence. It is called Old Red Mill. Scott had Prime Rib and I had Surf-n-turf= Prime Rib and snow crab legs. It was excellent food and Scott said the best Prime rib he has had in a while. We will go back there again.
SUNDAY:
Dylan and I went grocery shopping then I took off with Justin and we saw a local theater group do the musical for Footloose. It was at a high school an hour away from me. Along the way there was a Quilt store so we stopped. I was looking all around and making comments to Justin. I don't know if it was the owner or just someone that worked there , but she was really nice. I told her that I didn't quilt and I was a just a cross stitcher and wanted fabric for my finishes. She said we are not just cross stitchers but we are fiber artists. I liked that and had never heard us referred as that. I told her that my husband would have a fit if I got into another craft lol. She said that he can't be to bad if he brought you to the store. LMAO!! I told her Justin was my 20 year old son and not my husband. She said no way. I do not look old enough. I told her yes, I am 45. She wouldn't believe me lol.
So we found the school with no problem and the musical was great. Justin had 2 friends in it , and that is why we went.
Came home and started a new Halloween piece for Sunday SALs with Stitching Sisters Yahoo group. This is called Cat-O-Lantern by Springberry Kreek Designs. I bought this 10 years ago during a Cross Stitch Pals retreat. I can't wait to work on it again.
I also watched Tale of Despereaux and then True Blood.

more mermaid progress

I didn't stitch yesterday as I love stitching with the ceiling fan light and I broke it Monday night. When I pulled the chain it turned out the lights but didn't retract back in. Scott took it apart to see if he could fix it instead of buying a whole new ceiling fan with light. This one is old. But it is fixed and I got to stitch tonight :-)
So last night was movie night with my 2 boys. We watched The Werewolf with Anthony Hopkins. We rated it a 1/5. It was boring, slow and stupid. We could not get into it at all.
I then watched General Hospital and wound more floss on bobbins. I am almost done doing that , woohoo!
I also finished reading The Choice by Nicholas Sparks. I rated that a 5/5. As with his other books you will need kleenex.
Today I watched General Hospital and wound floss on bobbins. Then a new Charlie Brown special was on so I watched that. It was cute. I also listened to a couple of chapters of Web of Evil by J.A. Jance. I have enjoyed these chapters.

So here is what I accomplished stitching on HAED SK Mermaid of the Deep. I really want to finish this. I started an incentive piece with Only One Ewe BB and it is supposed to be done in August and I don't think I will make it but I will stitch on that next. I am really trying to finish things that have already been started.

WIP and new TV series

I had a pretty productive day. Got home from work and did a few things online. Then sat and watched General Hospital while winding floss on bobbins. Then end is near for that.

Read for 2 hours. The Choice by Nicholas Sparks. Really good and am about 3/4 of the way through it. I also started an audiobook today. Web of Evil by J.A. Jance.

Then tonight I watched True Blood, that I had DVRd last night. A new show on TNT called Rizolli & Isles. It is based on the books by Tess Gerritsen. Angie Harmon plays the detective. Her character is pretty much like her character when she was on the Women's Murder Club based on the books by James Patterson.

So while watching those 2 shows I got in some more stitching time on HAED SK Mermaid of the Deep.

Halloween Sunday and a finish

A lot was a accomplished today. I found out how to get to a Hobby Lobby and it is an hour away so I looked up our grocery store chain to see if there was one close to Hobby Lobby and there is. So Justin and I head out. Hobby Lobby is closed on Sundays so that employees can spend the day with family and worship. I wish more stores did this. So I treated Justin for lunch at the store's cafe. Got the grocery shopping done and came home.
Last night Justin and I had the TV on and saw a new summer series on ABCFamily called Pretty Little Liars. I look it up and we missed the first 5 episodes so we watched them online today. Love the show. I ended up finishing the beads and backstitching on Mill Hill treats Collage. This was a kit and I am glad that it is finished. I started it several months ago.

SATs

Wednesday night I stitched some more on HAED SK Sunny. This is the new SAL with the HAED BB.
Thursday night I didn't stitch at all. I got out of work and took Justin to the movies. We saw the new Twilight movie, Eclipse. We enjoyed it. It was nice because neither of us want the popcorn and pop. It gets to expensive. So we ate at home afterwards. We are thinking of going to the movies every week. Just the 2 of us. We want to see The Sorcerer's Apprentice , which starts this week.

Last night was SAT with Let's Stitch Blog and Stitching Sister's Yahoo group. So I pulled out HAED SK Mermaid of the Deep and got some more done on that. I watched Wednesday, Thursday and Friday's episodes of General Hospital and then watched a movie from Netflix, Remember Me. It had Pierce Brosnan in it and the girls who plays Claire in Lost, and the actor who plays Edward in the Twilight series. Was slow at first and then it got better and the ending was a big surprise and needed kleenex.

More progress

on HAED SK Sunny. This is part of her hat. So glad that I bought the water soluble marker instead of using the air soluble marker that I did have. Also don't have to worry about ruining stitches when pulling out basting threads.
While stitching on her I watched General Hospital (naughty Noah Drake) and then watched Coraline , which I did not like. Loved the book.
Very hot and humid with air quality warning and including tomorrow.

Playing catch up, new start, Dylan's prom and grad pics

This is Dylan's senior prom. He had a good time. It was at a Country Club and he said some of the food was good and some wasn't. Danced quite a bit.

His graduation day was nice but Hot. Thank god it was inside with a/c. Scott, me, Dylan, and Justin. Love my guys. We then took Dylan out for dinner at a steak house called Delmonico's.
My new start. HAED SK Sunny by Myka Jelina. This is a freebie SAL with the HAED BB. I got quite a bit accomplished today. Watched 1 1/2 weeks of General Hospital and am FINALLY all caught up :-)
I plan on stitching on this piece all week. Then I have an RR to stitch on and more of HAED SK Mermaid of the Deep. Not much stitching happened in June and no reading. Played Sims 3 a lot lol.

Friday June 2 Scott, Justin and I went to my cousin Liz's house for a party. had a great time. Really good food and then the local school had fireworks so we all went there to watch them. Saturday July 3 we went to friend's of the family. It is a tradition to spend the 3rd with them. We always have a good time and they have their own fireworks. Then Sunday July 4 we celebrated Dylan's grad party and combined it with my sister's 40th birthday. We had a pig roast and a lot of other food. I drank all weekend lol. Had Smirnoff's, Twisted Tea and some other new alcoholic thing with blueberry lemonade, mmmm. Scott and I had today off so I spent it cleaning up my computer desk and table tops. Then gridded out the fabric to start the HAED and as you can see above started stitching on it.
I was supposed to go to calling hours tonight but the weather just kept me in the house, Hot and humid and we had an air quality warning. It is also in effect for tomorrow and Wednesday. Back to work tomorrow.

June Stitching Bloggers Question

From Lake Stitchers Blog

So many great things happen in the month of June. Graduations, lots of weddings, the First Day of Summer (for those of us in the northern hemisphere, anyway). Flag Day in the U.S. and St. Jean Baptiste Day for our Canadian friends. And for many of us, the third Sunday in June is Father’s Day and it’s a pretty big deal. We celebrate our fathers, or we remember our fathers or we try to treat our children’s fathers to a special day. So I decided that this month’s SBQ was going to have fathers in it in some way.

And here we go:

Tell us about something that you have stitched or plan to stitch for any father in your life. Maybe it’s for your father, your father-in-law, your children’s father, your grandfather, your godfather, or someone who was or still is an important father-figure in your life. Why did you choose this particular piece of stitching? Tell us the story behind it.

I don't have any plans to stitch anything for Father's Day. I am so busy with graduation and birthday parties and have been in a stitching slump.

And because a simple one part question is never adequate, let’s go some more:

Often times we identify our love of needlework and our skills with our mothers or grandmothers or other women. It’s understandable because often they were are first teachers or role models. Now let’s think about our stitching life as it relates to our dads. Is there anything about our approach to stitching that we can recognize as traits of our fathers? For instance, does your dad (or any other important man in your life) have an approach to one of his interests that you can observe and think, “Hey….if I substitute the word “needlework” for “fly fishing”, we’d be pretty darn similar!” So tell us about it.

Actually my dad used to do leatherwork on purses, wallets, belts, etc. So he had many tools for his projects. He also was into oil painting for a few years. I don't know why he stopped doing any of it unless it is because his arthritis made it hard to stand and do things. He also was an avid deer hunter and a fisherman. He spent a lot of time doing his hobbies like I do with mine.

Page 1 is finished

I finally finished the first page. I also started the 2nd page. My goal was to finish it by the end of the month because I am starting the new SAL July 1. Oh well.

HAED SK Mermaid of the Deep
Justin and I watched a good movie tonight. Working Miracles was the movie I got through Netflix and was a hallmark channel movie.

HAED little bit of progress

I stitched a little bit here and there all weekend, on HAED SK Mermaid of the Deep. I am getting there slowly. I watched quite a few episodes of General Hospital on the DVR. I am still about 2 weeks behind.
Tonight was the new season of True Blood on HBO. Anyone watch it? Pretty good show.

I don't think I will get any stitching time in. I have my book crossing meeting and when I get home I will either read or *gasp* play Sims3.
Yes I played that quite a bit this weekend as well.

I did go to Party City and bought things for Dylan's grad party. We are combining it with my sister's 40th birthday. So I ended up buying decorations for both. It is on July 4th and is a pig roast and a crock pot full of sloppy joes. I ordered the cake today and I rented a tent for that day so have to mail out the check for that. Then I just have to buy the buns for the joes , pop, and chips. Family and close friends are bringing their own drinks and a dish to pass. I hope that the weather cooperates and that some of Dylan's friends come.

Well off to facebook before going to bed.

Thanks for those who read my blog and who leave comments.

HAED stitching and 24 finale

Friday night I stitched on a RR so no pics.
Yesterday I pulled out HAED SK Mermaid of the Deep and watched 24's episodes from 5/10 and 5/17
Today I pulled out the HAED and watched the finale of 24 and cried at the end. This is it, no more after 8 seasons of what has kept me on the edge of my seat. I know that a movie is in the makings and can't wait to see it when it comes out.

Anyways when I wasn't stitching I was playing Sims3. But there is a picture below of some more progress.

sorry I have been MIA

I have been missing and wanted to check in. I have been busy with Dylan (18 year old son). He got accepted at UTI in Exton, PA and will be moving there in September. His prom was a few weeks ago and graduation is June 27. Plus my car broke and was going to cost to much money and after 2 weeks of car shopping I found one that I love. I haven't stitched in a few weeks because of all this plus playing Sims3 non stop. I am trying to get back into a routine again.

So the '99 Cougar is for sale and I bought a 2007 Scion tC. Has a moon roof, spoiler and is Black Cherry Pearl. Very pretty and very fun to drive. I still have to take pics to post. I also will post pics of Dylan's prom.

Tonight was the first time in about a month that I sat and stitched. It is for a RR so no pics but hey at least I stitched on something.
I also watched the season finales of The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural. They were on the DVR. I still have to watch Smallville and 24. I may do that tomorrow night while doing a SAT (stitch a thon)

I promise to TRY and post more often. I have a LOT of reading of blogs to do and may just have to skim through them til I am caught up. I will read them all though. Supposed to rain most of the weekend so that will be a good idea for the weekend.

Well now that I have done everything that I planned on I can play Sims3 for the rest of the night :-)

May Stitching Bloggers question

Lee of Lake Stitcher is going to post a question on the first Monday of the month for all stitchers. So I am putting the question here as well. I will give my answer and let her know that I have done so.

May Question:

Suppose we say that there are two types of stitchers.

There are those who enjoy the “process” of stitching. They stitch for stitching’s sake and if something gets finished, so much the better, but it’s not necessarily the end goal. Primarily, it’s the application of needle and thread to cloth that makes them happiest.

Then there are those who are “project” stitchers. They move steadily through their projects, certainly enjoying their stitching time, but finding their greatest joy in the completed stitching.

If you had to pick one to describe yourself, which type of stitcher would you be? I imagine that we could all say that we fall somewhere in between, but really think hard about this and try to pick just one. And once you’ve decided whether you’re a Process or Project stitcher, tell us if your recognize that approach in other parts of your life.

I would have to say that I am a little of both. I start a project with the intention of finishing. Sometimes I get bored with it so then it turns I am a process stitcher. I pull it out just to put in a couple of stitches. I also like t o clean the house to get it done til next time and then sometimes just to get the worse of it out of the way.

Movie night Tuesday

Tonight the boys and I watched Bandslam, from Netflix. Awesome movie and music. It has Lisa Kudrow in it.

Tonight was also a new episode of Lost. Very sad as 2 of my favorite characters died. I won't ruin it for those of you who haven't seen it. But have kleenex ready for the end. I can't believe only a couple of episodes left.

I also stitched on HAED SK Mermaid of the Deep. Got a couple more squares done on it.

Well Scott has informed me that he will be working Friday nights for about 2 months. So I will get a lot done on Friday night SATs.

Dylan just got done filing the callouses on my feet. Then put mint lotion on. When he moves away I won't have anyone to do my feet. Justin says no way and Scott has no clue what he is doing, but he tries.

Mermaid Monday

Today I read some more of The Memory Thief by Rachel Keener. It is ok.
Then pulled out HAED SK Mermaid of the Deep. Stitched for 2 hours while watching House and then 24.
I will be dropping my car off at the shop tomorrow morning so I can find out exactly what is wrong with my car. it is going back to the mechanic that I have always trusted. it will no longer go back to where it has gone for the past 2-3 years. Everytime it comes back with more problems.

Sunday Halloween SAL

Answer for Jackie. You asked what I stitched Snow Bunnies on. It is 32 ct linen Lana Blue.

Scott and I went grocery shopping this morning. Usually when he goes with me I spend way more than I plan on. he was really good and never put anything in the cart. I was impressed lol.

Then we went to a surprise 60th birthday party for one of the men that works at the gas station where Scott is manager. I knew 1 other person there. Stayed for 2 hours and had a good time.

We are getting humid days already. I didn't stitch at all yesterday. My hands were clammy and just could not function in the heat. it is 72 now but is still humid. Have fans going in the house. I guess a/c will be going in soon lol.

Sat down to read The Memory Thief by Rachel Keener. I didn't get far with that. Justin got out of work at 7 and was a chatter box. We haven't just sat and talked about anything for quite a while. It has felt like he is slipping away. Turned 20 and probably wants his own place. I tell him his time will come. He still has 2 more years of college.

So Desperate Housewives came on and I pulled out Mill Hill's Treats Collage. Put on small petite green beads.
